SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The installation should be made by qualified service personnel or system installers
and should confirm to all local codes.
This symbol indicates that there is a possibility ofdeath ordamage to operator or others.

1. Power supply
(1) Use only with a 24V AC power supply marked class 2 or +12V DC regulated power
supply marked class 2.
(2) To prevent fire or electrical shock, UL listed class 2 wiring should be used for the
12VDC or 24VAC input terminal.
(3) Be sure to connect each lead to the appropriate terminal. Wrong connection may cause
malfunction and/or damage to the video camera.
2. Operating and storage locations
(1) Do not attempt to aim the camera at the sun or other extremely bright objects that
cause smear to appear irrespective of whether the camera is operating or not. This can
damage the CCD (Charge Coupled Device).
(2) Do not place the camera in the following locations.
a) Locations subjected to extremely high or low temperatures.
(operating temperature range : 10 °C to +50°C {14°F to 122°F})
(storage temperature range : 20 °C to +60°C { 4 °F to 140°F})
b) Locations subjected to high levels of humidity and dust
(storage humidity range : max 95% {no condensation})
c) Locations where there are large amounts of water vapour and steam
d) Ensure the location selected is sufficiently strong to support the weight of the camera
and is free from vibration.
(3) When this camera is installed near equipment, like a wireless communication device, that
emits a strong electromagnetic field, some irregularity such as noise on the monitor
screen may happen.
(4) Be sure to use screws suitable for the type of material to which the camera is being
mounted.
3. Handling of the unit
Do not allow the camera to be subjected to strong impacts or shocks. The camera could be
damaged by improper handling or storage.
- Never attempt to disassemble or modify the camera.

If an abnormality should occur, immediately turn off the power and consult your dealer.

Cover Removal and Attachment
• To remove the dome cover, pull lightly.To attach it, insert
and press the cover lightly until it snaps together.
• To remove the body cover, insert the opener in the groove
between the camera body and the body cover and twist
lightly.To attach it,align theedge ofbody cover tothe groove
on the camera body, and press until it snaps together.

Creating a Hole in the Ceiling or Wall
Make two holes for the screws affixing the camera body, and
one hole for the power and video cables.
* Use the supplied template to mark the appropriate mounting position
on the ceiling or the wall.
Connecting the Cables
Please refer to the diagrams below.
Connect the video cable from monitor to the equipped video
cable.
* When not using the equipped video cable,
connect the video cable from monitor to the
camera as shown.
Connect the power cable.
* When using 12V DC, connect the positive (+) side to the side marked
"DC 12V."

Remove the body cover, and mount
the camera body to the ceiling or
wall.
Align the housing to the holes you
have made, and use two screws to
mount the camera body.
* Choose screws suitable for the type of
ceiling or wall material. Screws with a
diameter of 4 to 5 mm is recom-
mended.

Check if the power is off before handling the power cable.
When using DC power, check for proper polarity before connecting

Adjusting the Camera Direction
Camera body moves in three ways: Pan,Tilt,and Rotate.
Adjust the direction so that the lens is aiming at the target.
2Adjusting the Synchronization and Phase
If necessary, adjust the line phase to synchronize the image.
Please refer to the drawing below.

Adjusting the DC Iris Level

d. Brief description of the installation
e. Complete description of the problem and circumstances under which it
occurs
f. Unit’s original date of purchase, if still under warranty
3. Pack the unit carefully. Use the original shipping carton or its equivalent for
maximum protection.
4. Mark the R.A. number on the outside of the carton on the shipping label.
Reference
CAUTION: Careful selection of the proper cable is essential to obtain the best performance from this
equipment. Vicon assumes no responsibility for poor performance when cables other than those
recommended are installed. In all cases, coaxial cable impedance should be 75 ohms.
Materials
Use only cable with a pure copper center conductor. Do not use cable with either a copper-plated
steel or an aluminum center conductor because these do not transfer signals effectively in the
frequency range used in CCTV networks. A center conductor with low DC resistance is required for
effective CCTV operation. Solid-core bare copper conductor is best suited to video applications,
except where flexing occurs. If the coaxial cable will be subjected to flexing during normal use, select
a cable with a stranded center conductor. The preferred dielectric material is cellular (foam)
polyethylene. It has better electrical characteristics than solid polyethylene, but is more vulnerable to
moisture. Therefore, use only solid polyethylene dielectric cable with a heavy exterior insulation in
applications subject to moisture.
Cable Types
The most commonly used cable types are RG-59/U and RG-11/U. Each is actually a family of cables
with widely varying electrical characteristics, some of which are not suitable for CCTV applications.
Choose a cable type by referring to the characteristics and maximum distances listed below. The
maximum distance for best picture refers to the distance between the Receiver and the Transmitter.
The characteristics of the cables in this table should be used as a guideline when cables other then
Belden are used. Materials and construction must follow the guidelines above. Note that "BC" refers
to bare copper and "TC" refers to tinned copper.
