WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or i jury whe usi g your u it, follow
these basic precautio s:
• Read all instru tions before using the unit.
• Never allow hildren to operate, play with, or rawl inside the unit.
• Never lean unit parts with flammable fluids. The fumes an reate a fire
hazard or explosion.
• Always turn the power on/off swit h (lo ated behind the air grille on top right
side) to the OFF position before attempting to hange light bulbs, lean, or
servi e the unit.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
DO NOT STORE OR USE GASOLINE OR OTHER FLAMMABLE VAPORS AND
LIQUIDS IN THE VICINITY OF THIS OR ANY OTHER APPLIANCE. THE FUMES
CAN CREATE A FIRE HAZARD OR EXPLOSION.
INITIAL START UP
1. Turn on the water supply.
2. Swit h on the ele tri al power.
3. Push and release the On/Off swit h to start the ma hine. The I e
Making light next to the On/Off swit h will glow Blue.
4. Water will begin to flow into the unit. When the reservoir is full,
water will start to drain from the ma hine. After a few minutes the
ompressor, water pump and fan motor will begin to operate and
the first i e making y le will have begun.
No adjustments are needed.
After about half an hour, i e will fall into the i e storage bin. The
ma hine makes 24 ubes per bat h. It is normal for the first bat hes of
i e to melt, that ontinues until the bin has ooled. It will take 8 to 10
hours of ontinuous run time to fill the i e bin. When the bin is full of
i e, the i e ma hine will shut off. It will automati ally restart when the
i e level falls, either from use or normal meltage.
USE
No spe ial instru tions are needed for use. Just take as mu h i e as
you need, the ma hine will repla e it. A s oop is provided, and it an
be stored in the ma hine using the loop of tubing on the right side as
a holder. That tubing is also the i e level sensor; i e will fill the storage
bin until it is near to or on that tube and then the ma hine will shut off.
The ma hine an be shut off anytime by just pushing and releasing the
On/Off button. The ma hine will shut off at the end of the next y le.
To shut off immediately, push and hold the On/Off button in until the
ma hine stops.

Never keep anything in the i e storage bin that is not i e. Obje ts like
wine or beer bottles are not only unsanitary, but the labels an slip off
and plug up the drain.
Never allow the ma hine to operate without regular leaning. The
ma hine will last longer if it is kept lean. Regular leaning should
happen at least on e per year, and preferably twi e. Some water
onditions will di tate even more frequent leaning of the i e making
se tion, and some arpets or pets will di tate more frequent leaning
of the ondenser.
Note: The Time to Clean light will switch ON after 6 months of use. It
will remain ON until the ice making system is cleaned using the process
in the “How to clean the condenser and winterize” section.
Noise
The i e ma hine is designed for quiet operation, but will make some
noise during the i e making y le. During a freezing y le, it is normal
to hear the fan moving air and the water pump ir ulating water. I e
hitting the bin or i e in the bin an be heard during harvest. If i e
making noise is obje tionable, an applian e grade timer an be added
to the power supply. Set the timer to turn the ma hine off at the time(s)
of day when the noise is most obje tionable.
Normal ubes are tapered ylinders. If the ubes are ragged and mis-
shaped, mineral s ale must be removed from the i e making system.
WATER QUALITY
All water, in luding potable water supplied by muni ipalities, ontains
some impurities or minerals. Water absorbs impurities from the air as rain
and/or as it flows through the ground. Some of the impurities are solid
parti les, these are known as suspended solids, and a fine parti le filter
will remove them. Other impurities are hemi ally bonded to the water
mole ules, and annot be filtered out, these are alled dissolved solids.
I e made by this ma hine will have a lower mineral ontent than the
water it was made from. This is due to the method of making i e. Purer
water will freeze first in the i e making molds. The reason for this is that
anything dissolved in water lowers the water’s freezing temperature. This
on entrates most of the impurities in the i e ma hine water reservoir
where they may form hard deposits known as s ale. The ma hine dilutes
the on entration of minerals by over-filling the reservoir during the
harvest y le (with the ex ess water flowing down the drain). s. Between
2 and 4 pints of water flow into the unit ea h y le. Between 1 and 3.5
pints of that rinses the reservoir and goes down the drain.
Some impurities will inevitably remain, and will sti k to the parts in the
ma hine, and will ause malformed i e ubes. Eventually, built up
mineral s ale an shorten ma hine life.
To keep the ma hine operating properly, these impurities or minerals
will have to be regularly dissolved by an a id leaning, using I e
Ma hine S ale Remover. Dire tions for this may be found in the se tion
under are and leaning.

MAINTENANCE
There are 5 things to keep lean:
1. The outside abinet & door.
2. The i e storage bin.
3. The ondenser.
4. The i e making system.
5. The i e s oop.
How to clea the cabi et
Wipe off any spills on the surfa e of the door and handle as they o ur.
If anything spilled on the door or gasket dries onto the surfa e, wash
with soap and warm water to remove.
How to clea the ice storage bi
The i e storage bin should be sanitized o asionally. It is usually
onvenient to sanitize the bin after the i e making system has been
leaned, and the storage bin is empty.
A sanitizing solution an be made of 1 oun e of household blea h and
two gallons of hot (95° F. – 115° F.) water. Use a lean loth and wipe
the interior of the i e storage bin with the sanitizing solution, pour
some of the solution down the drain. Allow to air dry.

The ondenser is like the radiator on a ar, it has fins and tubes that an
be ome logged with dirt and lint.
To clea :
1. Remove the ki kplate and front servi e panel.
2. Lo ate the ondenser surfa e.
3. Va uum the surfa e, removing all dust and lint.
4. Return the ki kplate and front servi e panel to their original
positions. Fasten them to the abinet using the original s rews.

2. Open the door and push and release the On/Off swit h to turn the
ma hine off.
3. Turn off the water supply.

4. Drain the water reservoir by removing the rubber ap under the
reservoir - it's near the ba k wall of the i e storage bin.
5. Dis onne t the in oming water line at the inlet water valve.
6. Open the door, push and release the on/off swit h to turn the
ma hine on.
7. Blow air through the inlet water valve; a tire pump ould do the job.
8. Drain pump models should have about 1/2 gallon of RV antifreeze
(propylene gly ol) poured into the i e storage bin drain.
Note: Automoti e antifreeze must NOT be used.
9. Swit h off and unplug the ma hine.
Removi g scale from the ice maki g system
1. S oop out all of the i e, either dis ard it or save it in an i e hest or
ooler.
2. Press and HOLD the On/off button in for 3 se onds until the Blue
light goes out.
3. Press and HOLD the both the Clean-Reset and On/Off buttons for 5
se onds. The Time to Clean light will blink on and off.

4. Pour 8 oun es of I e Ma hine S ale Remover into the i e ma hine
reservoir.
5. Operate the ma hine for about ½ hour.
6. Push and release the On/Off swit h. The Time to Clean light will
stop blinking and remain on. The ma hine will begin to flush out the
leaning solution.
7. Operate the ma hine for another 1/2 hour.
8. Push and release the On/Off swit h. The ma hine will stop the
leaning pro ess.
9. Pour a gallon of hot (95°F. – 115°F.) water into the bin to flush out
the drain.
10. Clean the bin liner of mineral s ale by mixing some i e ma hine
s ale remover and hot water, and using that solution to s rub the
s ale off of the liner.
11. Rinse the liner with hot water.
12. Sanitize the bin interior.
13. Repla e the i e removed in step 1.
14. Push and release the On/Off button to restart i e making.
The i e s oop should be washed regularly, wash it just like any other
food ontainer.

warranted to be free from defe ts in material or workmanship under normal household use for a period of two (2) years
from the date of original retail pur hase. Viking Range Corporation, warrantor, agrees to repair or repla e, at its option,
any part whi h fails or is found to be defe tive during the warranty period
*Painted and de orative items are warranted to be free from defe tive materials or workmanship for a period of ninety
(90) days from the date of original retail pur hase. ANY DEFECTS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE SELLING DEALER

Any sealed refrigeration system omponent, as listed above, whi h fails due to defe tive materials or workmanship in
normal household use during the seventh through the twelfth year from the date of original retail pur hase will be
repaired or repla ed, free of harge for the part itself, with the owner paying all other osts, in luding labor.
NNIINNEETTYY ((9900)) DDAAYY RREESSIIDDEENNTTIIAALL PPLLUUSS WWAARRRRAANNTTYY This warranty applies to appli ations where use of the produ t
extends beyond normal residential use. Examples are, but not limited to, bed and breakfasts, fire stations, private
lubs, hur hes, et . This warranty ex ludes all ommer ial lo ations su h as restaurants, food servi e lo ations and
institutional food servi e lo ations.
This warranty extends to the original pur haser of the produ t warranted hereunder and to ea h transferee owner of
the produ t during the term of the warranty.
This warranty shall apply to produ ts pur hased and lo ated in the United States and Canada. Produ ts must be
pur hased in the ountry where servi e is requested. Warranty labor shall be performed by an authorized Viking Range
Corporation servi e agen y or representative. Warranty shall not apply to damage resulting from abuse, a ident,
natural disaster, loss of ele tri al power to the produ t for any reason, alteration, improper installation, improper
operation or repair or servi e to the produ t by anyone other than an authorized Viking Range Corporation servi e
agen y or representative. Warranty shall not apply to damage resulting from indoor units being used in outdoor
situations. This warranty does not apply to ommer ial usage. Warrantor is not responsible for onsequential or
in idental damage whether arising out of brea h of warranty, brea h of ontra t, or otherwise. Some jurisdi tions do
not allow the ex lusion or limitation of in idental or onsequential damages, so the above limitation or ex lusion may
not apply to you.
Owner shall be responsible for proper installation, providing normal are and maintenan e, providing proof of
pur hase upon request, and making the applian e reasonably a essible for servi e. If the produ t or one of its
omponent parts ontains a defe t or malfun tion during the warranty period, after a reasonable number of attempts
by the warrantor to remedy the defe ts or malfun tions, the owner is entitled to either a refund or repla ement of the
produ t or its omponent part or parts. Repla ement of a omponent part in ludes its free installation. Warrantor’s
liability on any laim of any kind, with respe t to the goods or servi es overed hereunder, shall in no ase ex eed the
pri e of the goods or servi e or part there of whi h gives rise to the laim.
WWAARRRRAANNTTYY SSEERRVVIICCEE::Under the terms of this warranty, servi e must be performed by a fa tory authorized Viking
Range Corporation servi e agent or representative. Servi e will be provided during normal business hours, and labor
performed at overtime or premium rates shall not be overed by this warranty. To obtain warranty servi e, onta t the
dealer from whom the produ t was pur hased, an authorized Viking Range Corporation servi e agent, or Viking Range
Corporation. Provide model and serial number and date of original pur hase. For the name of your nearest authorized
Viking Range Corporation servi e agen y, all the dealer from whom the produ t was pur hased or Viking Range
Corporation. IIMMPPOORRTTAANNTT::Retain proof of original pur hase to establish warranty period.
The return of the Owner Registration Card is not a ondition of warranty overage. You, however, should return the
Owner Registration Card so that Viking Range Corporation an onta t you should any question of safety arise whi h
ould affe t you.
Any implied warranties of mer hantability and fitness appli able to the above des ribed under ounter i e ma hine are
limited in duration to the period of overage of the appli able express written limited warranties set forth above. Some
jurisdi tions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to
you. This warranty gives you spe ifi rights, and you may also have other rights whi h may vary from jurisdi tion to
jurisdi tion.
