and walnut delight
A sandwich with a nutty, crispy, crunchy
texture. Serves up to 6.
Ingredients:
6 croissants
1 sliced Bosc pear
Cambozolacheese(triplecreamblue
cheesewithbrie)
1sliceofMountainGorgonzolaorSpanish
BlueCheese
1/2cupoftoastedwalnutslightlycrushed
Cutpocketintothecentreofthecroissant,
about3inchesdeep.Donotcutpocketall
the way across to the ends or the content
will not stay in the croissant.
Carefullyspread2tablespoonsof
Cambozolacheeseinsidethepocket.
Add3to4piecesofcrumbleMountain
Gorgonzola.
Layerwalnutsinthecroissantandnallytop
with fresh, thin slices of pear.

cheese sandwich
A delicious grill cheese in a non-traditional way.
Serves 4.
Ingredients:
4thickslicesofbriocheorPandeMie
bread(about11/4inchslices)
½ kilo of thinly sliced ham
1wedgeofSaintAlbraycheese(similar
tobriecheese)
4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
4 tablespoons of whole grain mustard
20 sprigs of chopped chives
Carefullycutapocketthelengthofthe
bread.Makethepocketasbigasyoucan
by cutting as close as possible to the other
sides without cutting them open.The pocket
willbeusedforthelling.
Place 3 slices of ham, add a layer of cheese,
spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 1
tablespoon of mustard inside the pocket
with a sprinkle of fresh chopped chives.
Place in the VillaWare®Toaster and toast
twice on level 4. Serve hot.
*Note,youmustuseasoftcheeseora
grated medium cheese so that it melts in
the toaster. A hard cheese will not melt.

Fresh Strawberry Jam
Perfect way to star your day. Makes 2½cups.
Ingredients:
5 cups of fresh, sweet strawberries, stemmed and seeded
4 cups of sugar
3/4cupofwater
1(13/4-ounce)packagepowderedfruitpectin
Toastedbread(Frenchbaguette,brioche)
Crushstrawberriescompletely.
Pourthestrawberries,withjuices,intobowl
andmixinsugar;setasidefor10minutes.
Combinewaterandpectininsaucepan.
Bring to a boil. Boil one minute, stirring
constantly. Stir pectin mixture into
strawberries;continuestirringfor3minutes.
Pourintosterilizedfreezerjarsor
containers,allowingfor1/2-inchof
headspace.Coverlids.Letstandatroom
temperature for 24 hours. If you are going
tocontinuetousethejamfor2to3weeks,
storeinrefrigerator.Otherwise,freezeit.
