4) LEARNING
FUNCTION
General
SN-9100 can learn from the majority of remo-
te controls on the market (TV,VCR, SAT, etc.)
up to a maximum of 19 functions. The com-
mands can be memorized on two memory
banks, selected by using the «LEARN», button,
using all buttons except «SHIFT», « »,
«VT» and «LEARN».
NOTE: the «LEARN» button, to select the
second memory bank,is used when wanting to
learn functions that are additional to those
already in use and all the buttons are full. It is
not necessary to select the second memory
bank if you want to replace commands on but-
tons that are not in use.
A learned command automatically replaces any
pre-existing preprogrammed command. If you
make a mistake and forget to select the second
memory bank , the original pre-programmed
command can be restored by simply cancelling
the learned command.
In all cases, it is necessary to cancel a learned
command before it can be replaced.
When toggling between memory banks, by
pressing «LEARN», the LED flashes once or
twice, to indicate which one is active,or not at
all if the second is empty.

original remote control to be learned,relea-
sing it when the LED goes off (two short fla-
shes shortly after will confirm memoriza-
tion).
f) To memorize more commands repeat the
procedure from d).
N.B.:
• If the LED emits two long flashes there has
been a problem and you have to repeat the
procedure from d).
• Exit from the learning function is automatic
after approx.8seconds of the last operation
(or its interruption) and is signaled by a long
flash of the LED. To enter the learning func-

After a while you will notice that the LED emits 5
short flashes indicating the end of a search cycle.
Keep the search button pressed…if your
machine still does not respond and the LED
again emits 5 short flashes, abandon this proce-
dure and try inserting manually, one by
one, following the procedures in the pre-
vious chapters, all the codes listed in the
tables (Tab.A forTVs,Tab. C. forVCRs).
- You have some difficulties with the learning
function?
Try repositioning the two remote controls chan-
ging the distance and/or alignment.
