Quick Start Guide
M504 – Four Port Ethernet/USB ADSL2+ Modem
Before You Start...
1. Identi y your modem model by checking the label underneath your hardware.
2. Make sure your PC is equipped with either an Ethernet or a USB inter ace.
3. Veri y that the ollowing items came with your DSL Kit:
Step 1. Connect the Hardware
A . Connect one end of the ADSL Line Cable (GRAY) to the Vi ionNet Modem’ “DSL” port and the
other end to the ADSL ervice (Wall Jack). See “A” in the diagram for your modem below.
Note: Non-ADSL device uch a fax, an wering machine or phone that hare the ame telephone
number a your DSL account require a filter. If you require uch a device to be at the ame location a
the DSL modem, follow the in truction in Step 2.

B. Choo e your modem connection to the PC:
Ethernet: Connect the Ethernet Cable (YELLOW ) to the
“Ethernet” port on the Vi ionNet Modem
and the other end to the PC’ Ethernet
port. See “B” in the diagram.

USB: If you’re going to u e thi port, plea e kip
to Step 4. DO NOT CONNECT THE USB
CABLE UNTIL STEP 4.
C. Plug the jack from the power upply adapter
(BLACK) into the Vi ionNet Modem’ “PW ” Port and
the other end to your power outlet. Turn on the power
witch. See “C” in the diagram.
D. Turn on the power witch. See “D” in the diagram.
E. The “DSL” light in front of the modem hould blink
and become olid within 60 econd .

STEP 2. Installing Filters
STEP 3. Check your PC’s Settings
Your PC, by default, hould be pre-configured to receive an IP addre automatically (DHCP). Thi will
direct your PC to connect to the Internet. If you have changed the e etting , you mu t reconfigure them to
receive an IP addre automatically.
Con ult your PC U er Manual for more information hould you need to confirm or change your TCP/IP
etting .
Stand-Alone Filter – Filter are needed for all non-ADSL device
uch a telephone and fax machine .
A. Unplug the non-ADSL device' cord ( uch a phone) from the
phone jack.
B. Plug the filter into the phone jack.
C. Plug the non-ADSL device' cord into the filter.
Wall-Mount Filter (If you u e a wall mount phone):
A. Remove the wall mount phone.
B. Connect the wall mount filter to the wall plate.
C. Reconnect the phone.
STEP 4. Configuring Your PC to Support Your USB Port
If you have already connected via Ethernet, please skip to Step 5.
A. In ert the CD “DSL VisionNet” provided to you in your CD drive. For Windows ME, 2000, and XP
u er, your Web brow er will open howing a menu. For Windows 98 U er , Plea e open the content of
the CD in “Window Explorer” and double-click “index.htm” file.
Plea e click the “Start Application” button to in tall the USB Driver. Once in tallation i done, click fini h
and go to Step B.
B. Plug in your USB cable (BLUE) now.
C. Follow the in truction below for your particular Operating Sy tem.
For Windows 98, 98se, ME:
For Windows 98, 98se, and
ME: Brow e to the location
of your Window Sy tem
folder and click “OK”.
For Windows 2000:
I prompted, reboot your computer to complete installation.
For Windows 2000: Click
“Yes”, when prompted, to
continue the in tallation.

For instructions on how to con igure your new VisionNet modem, please
re er to the User Manual included in the Product CD. Check with your
ISP (Internet Service Provider) or required network settings.
Step 1: Select
“No, not this
time” and
Click “Next”.

“Continue Anyway”.
Step 6: Click
“Finish”.
If prompted, reboot your computer to complete in tallation.
