The Briteliner 400 - 2, 3 & 4 inch models
Thank you for choosing the Briteliner 400 transfer wheel line marking machine.

markers.
These include:
•Interchangeable transfer wheels, 2", 3" or 4" options
•Height adjustable handlebar

•Large tubed pneumatic wheels for stability and ease of use in difficult
conditions
•A revolutionary brush system, allowing the user to reduce or increase the
marking liquid volumes applied to the application wheel
•A centre transfer wheel for smooth running, featuring a renewable rubber outer
•The centre transfer wheel is hollow to allow the user to increase or decrease its
weight for individual user preference
•An adjustable scraper blade on the front alloy wheel for muddy or difficult
conditions, to assist in keeping the alloy application wheel reasonably clean
Intended Use/Disclaimer
The Briteliner 400 is designed for use in the line marking of sports fields. Use in any

Before being able to use your machine, the handle bars need to be assembled:
1. To fix the handlebars (see part D), remove the two hand-wheels on either side of the
rear of the tank. Place the handlebar mounting brackets (see part B) in their position on
the lugs either side of the rear of the tank. Adjust the handlebar mounts to the preferred
position. Replace and tighten the two hand wheels through the holes on the handlebar
mounts (see figure 2). Locate the handlebar into the mounts and adjust the handlebar
height to the preferred working position.
2. Place the centre transfer wheel (see part E) between the pick up wheel and the
application wheel (see figure 3). (You may need to adjust the locating bolts slightly to
ensure the centre transfer wheel is exactly aligned, between the pick up and application
wheels).
NOTE: The weight of the centre transfer wheel (see part E), under certain
circumstances, can be increased to aid the transfer of line marking liquid from the
pickup to the application wheel. To increase the weight of the centre transfer wheel,
remove the bung located on the side of the wheel and pour sand or water through the
hole and replace the bung. Repeat this process until you have the desired weight.
3. The scraper blade located underneath the chassis behind the front application wheel
may need to be adjusted. The scraper blade is designed to touch the application wheel if
the marker is being used in muddy conditions, or conditions where grass clippings are
likely to be collected on the application wheel (see figure 4). This setting ensures that
the application wheel stays reasonably clean from debris and that the marking liquid
which is transferred onto the application wheel is also free of mud or grass clippings, so
as not to contaminate the line being applied. On quality fine turf areas where debris is
not a problem, the scraper blade can be set away from the application wheel so it does
not come into play. To adjust the blade a 10mm spanner is required.
If you have any further questions or need more information on the Briteliner 400, please

Using the Briteliner 400
Once the machine has been assembled and set up you can mark out your lines. First you
will need to choose which Supaturf Line Marking Liquid you wish to use.
•Briteline
•SupaStadia A/F
•SupaStadia
•Stadia & Stadia Colours
•Sport
•Briteline plus
Material Safety Data Sheets for all of the above products are available on request.
Dilute the marking liquid with water to the desired concentration and thoroughly mix.
Dilution rates are recommended for all Supaturf line marking liquids on the product
label - please stay within these guidelines.
NOTE: Shake the drum of marking liquid well before opening. Always add the
line marking liquid to the water.
WARNING: To avoid splashing of line marking liquid into eyes, eye protection and
gloves should be used whilst handling and pouring the material. In the event of a
spillage, refer to the material safety data sheet for the line marking material being used.
If the pitch conditions demand, adjust the scraper blade so that it touches the application
wheel to prevent any debris build up.
Once the mixed marking liquid is prepared pour the mixture into the Briteliner’ s 15 litre
tank.

8
Marking your first line
Before commencing marking it is worthwhile using a suitable area where the operation
can be tested and you can familiarise yourself with the machine.
The pitch to be lined out should be planned and possibly strung out in advance (or
similar) and the Briteliner 400 should be checked to ensure that all three wheels rotate
when the Briteliner is moved forward and the line marking liquid is evenly picked up
and transferred from wheel to wheel.
You should walk at a comfortable pace and ensure that you do not step on the line after
application as this may result in a series of white footprints. This may take a bit of
practice. The wheels of the Briteliner are configured so that marking circles is made
easier.
When marking out sports lines at 90° to the recently applied lines, it is advisable to stop
the machine with its wheels just in front of the existing line and "walk" the Briteliner
wheels over the line to avoid contamination with the marking liquid that has not dried.
As a quick guide you could expect Supaturf line marking liquids to dry within 10
minutes in direct hot sunshine, but this can take considerably longer subject to weather
conditions.
WARNING: If the machine is going to be lifted onto a vehicle after line marking for
use at another site, the tank should be emptied and the machine lifted by two people.
Alternatively loading ramps should be used to ensure operator safety.
To empty the tank, remove the bung located at the rear of the machine and allow the
remaining mixed line marking liquid to drain into a bucket. Do not empty mixed line
marking liquid into watercourses.

Cleaning the Briteliner 400
Cleaning after use
It is important that your Briteliner 400 is thoroughly cleaned using SupaFlush after
every use.
Always clean the Briteliner after use and follow these simple steps to ensure your
machine is as clean as possible.
1. Empty left over product out of the tank. Do not dispose of any left over line
marking solution in the main watercourse.
2. Rinse out the 15 litre tank with fresh water and agitate the water by tipping the
Briteliner backwards and forwards by the handlebar.
3. Empty out the waste water.
4. Repeat steps 1, 2 & 3 with further amounts of fresh water.
5. Rinse the pickup, applicator and centre transfer wheels with fresh water.
6. Repeat step 2, this time using 2 litres of water and adding 50ml of SupaFlush to
the water.
7. Using the SupaFlush solution, wash the centre transfer, pickup and application
wheels removing all traces of line marking liquid.
8. Finally, before putting the Briteliner 400 away, ensure that the scraper blade is
clean of any debris.
When using SupaFlush, always use eye protection and gloves. Refer to the SupaFlush
material safety data sheet.
