Usecautionwhenyouoperatethemachineonslopes.Raisedequipment,fulltanks,andotherloadswillchangethe
centerofgravityofthemachine.Themachinecantiporrolloverwhennearditchesandembankmentsoruneven
surfaces.
Neverpermitanyoneotherthantheoperatortorideonthemachine.
Neveroperatethemachineundertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs,orwhileyouareotherwiseimpaired.
Whendiggingorusingground-engagingattachments,beawareofburiedcables.Contactlocalutilitiestodetermine
thelocationsofservices.
Payattentiontooverheadpowerlinesandhangingobstacles.Highvoltagelinesmayrequiresignicantclearance
forsafety.
Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecanpenetratetheskin,causingseriousinjuryorinfection.
•DONOTuseyourhandtocheckforleaks.Useapieceofcardboardorpaper.
•Stoptheengine,removethekey,andrelievethepressurebeforeyouconnectordisconnectuidlines.
•Makesurethatallcomponentsareingoodcondition.Tightenallconnectionsbeforeyoustarttheengineorpres-
surizethesystem.
•Ifhydraulicuidordieselfuelpenetratestheskin,seekmedicalattentionimmediately.
•Continuouslongtermcontactwithhydraulicuidmaycauseskincancer.Avoidlongtermcontactandwashthe
skinpromptlywithsoapandwater.
Keepclearofmovingparts.Looseclothing,jewelry,watches,longhair,andotherlooseorhangingitemscanbecome
entangledinmovingparts.
Wearprotectiveequipmentwhenappropriate.
DONOTattempttoremovematerialfromanypartofthemachinewhileitisbeingoperatedorwhilecomponentsare
inmotion.
Makesurethatallguardsandshieldsareingoodconditionandproperlyinstalledbeforeyouoperatethemachine.
Neveroperatethemachinewithshieldsremoved.Alwayscloseaccessdoorsorpanelsbeforeyouoperatethema-
chine.
Dirtyorslipperysteps,ladders,walkways,andplatformscancausefalls.Makesurethesesurfacesremaincleanand
clearofdebris.
Apersonorpetwithintheoperatingareaofamachinecanbestruckorcrushedbythemachineoritsequipment.DO
NOTallowanyonetoentertheworkarea.
Raisedequipmentand/orloadscanfallunexpectedlyandcrushpersonsunderneath.Neverallowanyonetoenter
theareaunderneathraisedequipmentduringoperation.
Neveroperatetheengineinenclosedspacesasharmfulexhaustgasesmaybuildup.
Beforeyoustartthemachine,besurethatallcontrolsareinneutralorparklockposition.
Starttheengineonlyfromtheoperator’sseat.Ifyoubypassthesafetystartswitch,theenginecanstartwiththe
transmissioningear.Donotconnectorshortacrossterminalsonthestartersolenoid.Attachjumpercablesas
describedinthemanual.Startingingearmaycausedeathorseriousinjury.
Alwayskeepwindows,mirrors,alllighting,andSlow-MovingVehicle(SMV)emblemcleantoprovidethebestpossible
visibilitywhileyouoperatethemachine.
Operatecontrolsonlywhenseatedintheoperator’sseat,exceptforthosecontrolsexpresslyintendedforusefrom
otherlocations.

Beforeyouleavethemachine:
1.Parkthemachineonarm,levelsurface.
2.Putallcontrolsinneutralorparklockposition.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.Usewheelchocksifrequired.
4.Lowerallhydraulicequipment—Implements,header,etc.
5.Turnofftheengineandremovethekey.
WARNING
Somecomponentsmaycontinuetorundownafterdisengagingdrivesystems.
Makesurealldrivesystemsarefullydisengaged.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.W0113A
When,duetoexceptionalcircumstances,youwoulddecidetokeeptheenginerunningafteryouleavethe
operator’sstation,thenyoumustfollowtheseprecautions:
1.Bringtheenginetolowidlespeed.
2.Disengagealldrivesystems.
3.Shiftthetransmissionintoneutral.
4.Applytheparkingbrake.
Hydraulicsystemsafety
Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecanpenetratetheskin,causingseriousinjuryorinfection.
•DONOTuseyourhandtocheckforleaks.Useapieceofcardboardorpaper.
•Stopengine,removekeyandrelievethepressurebeforeconnectingordisconnectinguidlines.
•Makesureallcomponentsareingoodconditionandtightenallconnectionsbeforestartingtheengineorpressur-
izingthesystem.
•Ifhydraulicuidordieselfuelpenetratestheskin,seekmedicalattentionimmediately.
•Continuouslong-termcontactwithhydraulicuidmaycauseskincancer.Avoidlongtermcontactandwashthe
skinpromptlywithsoapandwater.
Thehydraulichosesandttingsonyourmachinemeetengineeringspecicationsfortheparticularfunction.When
replacingdamaged,blownorwornhosesorttings,useonlyNEWHOLLANDmanufacturerauthorizedserviceparts.
Careinhydraulichoseinstallationisamust:
•Makesurepressureisrelievedbeforestartinginstallationprocedure.
•DONOTkinkortwistahose,failuremayoccur.
•Properlyroutethehose.
•Removeairfromthehydraulicsystemafterinstallinganyhydrauliccomponent.
Periodicallycheckhydraulicsystemforleaksordamage.Checkfor:
•Leaksathosettingorinhose
•Damagedhosesandttings
•Kinked,crushed,attened,hardblistered,heatcracked,charred,twisted,softorloosecoveredhoses
•Corrodedordamagedttings
•Leakingports
•Excessivedirtanddebrisaroundhosesand/orttings
•Damagedormissinghoseretainingclamps,guards,shields,etc.

causeinjury.
Keepallpersonsawayfromtheworkingarea.Mechanismscontrolledbyuidpowercanbecomehazardousifahose
fails.Liftedmechanismscanfalltotheground,machinesteeringmayfail,etc.
Stayclearofapressurizedhoseassemblythathasblownapart.Hosettingscanbethrownoffathighspeedanda
loosehosecanwhiparoundwithgreatforce.
Hydraulicuidcanreachhightemperatures.Allowuidtocoolbeforeservicingthesystem.
Escapinguidunderpressuremayformamistornespraywhichcanashorexplodeuponcontactwithanignition
source.
Vibrationcanreducehoseservicelife.Makesureallretainingclampsand/ordevicesaresecured.
Environmentalconditionscancausehoseandttingstodeteriorate.Inspecthydraulichosesperiodically.Replace
wornordamagedhosesandttings.
Generalmaintenancesafety
Keeptheareausedforservicingthemachinecleananddry.Cleanupspilleduids.
Servicethemachineonarm,levelsurface.
Installguardsandshieldsafteryouservicethemachine.
Closeallaccessdoorsandinstallallpanelsafterservicingthemachine.
Donotattempttoclean,lubricate,clearobstructions,ormakeadjustmentstothemachinewhileitisinmotionorwhile
theengineisrunning.
Alwaysmakesurethatworkingareaisclearoftools,parts,otherpersonsandpetsbeforeyoustartoperatingthe
machine.
Unsupportedhydrauliccylinderscanlosepressureanddroptheequipment,causingacrushinghazard.Donotleave
equipmentinaraisedpositionwhileparkedorduringservice,unlesstheequipmentissecurelysupported.
Jackorliftthemachineonlyatjackorliftpointsindicatedinthismanual.
Incorrecttowingprocedurescancauseaccidents.Whenyoutowadisabledmachinefollowtheprocedureinthis
manual.Useonlyrigidtowbars.
Stoptheengine,removethekey,andrelievepressurebeforeyouconnectordisconnectuidlines.
Stoptheengineandremovethekeybeforeyouconnectordisconnectelectricalconnections.
Scaldingcanresultfromincorrectremovalofcoolantcaps.Coolingsystemsoperateunderpressure.Hotcoolantcan
sprayoutifyouremoveacapwhilethesystemishot.Allowthesystemtocoolbeforeyouremovethecap.When
youremovethecap,turnitslowlytoallowpressuretoescapebeforeyoucompletelyremovethecap.
Replacedamagedorworntubes,hoses,electricalwiring,etc.
Theengine,transmission,exhaustcomponents,andhydrauliclinesmaybecomehotduringoperation.T akecare
whenyouservicesuchcomponents.Allowsurfacestocoolbeforeyouhandleordisconnecthotcomponents.Wear
protectiveequipmentwhenappropriate.
Whenwelding,followtheinstructionsinthemanual.Alwaysdisconnectthebatterybeforeyouweldonthemachine.
Alwayswashyourhandsafteryouhandlebatterycomponents.
Wheelsandtires
Makesurethattiresarecorrectlyinated.Donotexceedanyrecommendedloadorpressure.Followtheinstructions
inthemanualforpropertireination.

Neverweldonawheelwithatireinstalled.Alwaysremovethetirecompletelyfromthewheelpriortowelding.
Alwayshaveaqualiedtiretechnicianservicethetiresandwheels.Ifatirehaslostallpressure,takethetireand
wheeltoatireshoporyourdealerforservice.Explosiveseparationofthetirecancauseseriousinjury.
DONOTweldtoawheelorrimuntilthetireiscompletelyremoved.Inatedtirescangenerateagasmixturewith
theairthatcanbeignitedbyhightemperaturesfromweldingproceduresperformedonthewheelorrim.Removing
theairorlooseningthetireontherim(breakingthebead)willNOTeliminatethehazard.Thisconditioncanexist
whethertiresareinatedordeated.ThetireMUSTbecompletelyremovedfromthewheelorrimpriortowelding
thewheelorrim.
Drivingonpublicroadsandgeneraltransportationsafety
Complywithlocallawsandregulations.
Useappropriatelightingtomeetlocalregulations.
MakesurethattheSMVemblemisvisible.
Makesurethatthebrakepedallatchisengaged.Youmustlockbrakepedalstogetherforroadtravel.
Usesafetychainsfortrailedequipmentwhensafetychainsareprovidedwithmachineorequipment.
Liftimplementsandattachmentshighenoughabovegroundtopreventaccidentalcontactwithroad.
Whenyoutransportequipmentoramachineonatransporttrailer,makesurethatitisproperlysecured.Besurethe
SMVontheequipmentormachineiscoveredwhilebeingtransportedonatrailer.
Beawareofoverheadstructuresorpowerlinesandmakesurethatthemachineand/orattachmentscanpasssafely
under.
Travelspeedshouldbesuchthatyoumaintaincompletecontrolandmachinestabilityatalltimes.
Slowdownandsignalbeforeturning.

componentssuchastheengine,transmission,exhaust,battery,etc.Morefrequentcleaningofyourmachinemaybe
necessarydependingontheoperatingenvironmentandconditions.
Atleastonceeachday,removedebrisaccumulationaroundmovingcomponentssuchasbearings,pulleys,belts,
gears,cleaningfans,etc.Morefrequentcleaningofyourmachinemaybenecessarydependingontheoperating
environmentandconditions.
Inspecttheelectricalsystemforlooseconnectionsandfrayedinsulation.Repairorreplacelooseordamagedparts.
Donotstoreoilyragsorotherammablematerialonthemachine.
