Thank you for purchasing a Vocas product. You are now the owner of a revolutionary follow focus!
Its modular design, the incredible adjustability and wooden palm support are unique in the market.
More than 25 years of experience are part of MFC-2 design and functionality.
We believe that the Vocas MFC-2 gives you the perfect configuration for your camera. You will now
experience the combination of having your camera in perfect balance and operating your focus with
excellent precision.
Before you start to use your new accessory, please read these instructions carefully to enjoy
optimum performance and a longer service life. Keep this manual in a safe place for future
reference.

Guide to Modules & Components:
Modules
A: Knobs: Available in black or wood.
B: Gear units: Available in two gear ratios:
1:1 for lenses with a short focus rotation such as used many DSLR lenses.
1:1,75 for lenses with a longer focus rotation such as used in many Cine style lenses.
C: Centre bracket: Snaps on to 15 mm rails.
D: Palm support: Made of comfortable wood, allows you to hold your camera with your left hand
while keeping full control of your focus.
E: Drive gears: Available in several sizes and tooth shapes.

How to assemble your follow focus?
Please note that the one armed red winged nuts can be readjusted by pulling outwards and rotating
to the desired position.
1-Attach the gear unit to the center bracket and tighten the indicated winged nut.
2-Put the knob in the gear unit by pressing inwards and rotating. The knob should engage with the
gear unit without any play. Tighten the indicated winged nut.

3- Attach the desired drive gear to the gear unit by tightening the central red screw.
Please note that the drive gear can be attached to the gear unit at the left or right side.
4- Attach the palm rest to the center bracket as shown.
Please note that the palm rest can be adjusted in height to your ergonomic preferences

How to attach and adjust the follow focus to your camera and
lens?
1- Make sure the round red knob on the center bracket is loose.
2- Also make sure that the red winged nut on the gear unit is loose.
3- Slide the gear unit and the center bracket outwards (in the direction of the arrows).
4- Attach the follow focus to the 15 mm rails on your camera, slide the top part of the follow
focus towards against the lens and make sure the drive gear grips in the teeth of the
focus barrel of your lens.
5- Tighten the red knob (1) and the red winged nut (2) and make sure there is no play
between the drive gear and the lens.
How to reverse the rotation direction?
If desired, the direction of rotation can be changed by loosening the red winged nut (1) and rotating
the whole gear unit in its holder as shown below.

Additional information
•Our wooden parts are made of Walnut wood. These parts are oiled with a paraffin based
oil. After a while the wood may need some maintenance, this oil can be used.
•One of the unique features of the Vocas follow focus is that they are assembled without
play. However, the follow focus may develop some play after frequent use. This is
especially true if used with heavy turning lenses. This can be easily adjusted by a
professional. Please contact your local dealer or distributor for adjusting the play of your
follow focus.
