1. Connection
The V640 Desktop Station owns 2 redundant RJ45
ports at the rear side. Please refer to figure 1.
For normal operation just connect a network cable
to one of the RJ45 ports. It doesn’t matter to which
one. Please refer to figure 2.
Do not use both ports without authorization of
your network administrator:
2. Startup
After proper cable connection the Desktop Station will initiate the boot process.
Note: PoE (IEEE standard 802.3af) and connection to the VIPCOS system is
mandatory.
Via this connection the unit will be integrated in your pre-configured VIPCOS
network automatically followed by a self test of the keys. All keys are switched
on and off consecutively.
As soon as a text appears on the display, the station is ready for use:

3. Destination Test
Once the boot process is complete, the station will test the network and
preconfigured destinations. If a destination cannot be reached, the station
indicates this via continuous illumination of the corresponding destination
button:

4. Direct- and Groupcalls
The keys are assigned direct or group calls.
To establish a speech connection, press and hold the desired single or group call
button for the duration of the call:
Note: The recommended distance between microphone and user is approx. 5 cm.
