All Univet headlights are tested for the photobiological impacts of
prolonged exposure to LED-emitted blue light. Our headlights are
designed in accordance with the international standard IEC 62471:2006,
which species exposure limits that prevent adverse health eects.
Tutte le soluzioni headlight Univet sono sottoposte a test per il
pericolo d’impatto fotobiologico da esposizione prolungata alla luce
blu emessa dalla sorgente LED. Queste misurazioni sono eseguite in
conformità alla norma internazionale IEC 62471:2006 che specifica i

Control unit recharge
Control unit charging time: 6 hours
To recharge the control unit, you need to insert the jack plug of the
USB cable into the appropriate side hole. Then connect the cable to a
power supply unit with a Type-A USB port (see specications on the
opposite page). While charging, the charge status indicator on the back
of the control unit will ash green (Fig.01) and turn solid green when
fully charged (Fig.02).
USB power supply unit
You can use a standard power supply with a USB Type-A port and 2A
current power supply unit for correct charging. If your power supply
unit has a 1A power supply, the device’s charging time could last
longer than 6 hours. If necessary, it is possible to purchase the Univet
Universal Battery Charger (code KZA004318).
Tempo di ricarica dell’unità di controllo: 6 ore
Per ricaricare l’unità di controllo sarà necessario inserire la presa jack
del cavo USB nell’apposito foro laterale. Agganciare poi il cavo ad un
alimentatore con ingresso USB di tipo A (vedi speciche nella pagina a
anco). Durante la ricarica l’indicatore dello stato di carica, posto sul retro
dell’unità di controllo, lampeggerà di colore verde (Fig.01) e diventerà di
colore verde sso a carica completata (Fig.02).
Alimentatore USB
Per una corretta ricarica, è possibile utilizzare un comune alimentatore che
abbia un ingresso USB di tipo A e alimentazione corrente 2A.
Nel caso il vostro alimentatore avesse alimentazione 1A il tempo di ricarica
del dispositivo potrebbe essere maggiore di 6 ore. In caso di necessità è
possibile acquistare il Caricabatteria Universale Univet (cod. KZA004318).

Key to the battery charge status
Battery charge status indication
Quickly press the ON/OFF button with the device o to check the
battery charge status. The indicators on the front will turn on,
indicating the device’s charge level (C).
Battery charge levels
The front indicators (Fig. 01) are green if the device is charged, according
to 5 charge levels ranging from 100% to 5%.
With less than a 5% charge, the rst front indicator (Fig.02) and the
rear one (Fig.03) will ash red, warning you of the imminent switch-o
of the device.

Per vericare lo stato di carica della batteria premere rapidamente il
tasto ON/OFF a dispositivo spento, gli indicatori posti frontalmente si
accenderanno indicando il livello di carica del dispositivo.
Livelli di carica della batteria
Gli indicatori frontali (Fig.01) si presentano di colore verde se il dispositivo è
carico, secondo 5 livelli di carica che vanno dal 100% al 5%.
Sotto il 5% di carica il primo indicatore frontale (Fig.02) e quello posteriore
(Fig.03) lampeggeranno di rosso segnalando l’imminente spegnimento del
dispositivo.

Turning the device ON/OFF
LED headlight connection
Connect the LED headlight to the control unit (g.01) by inserting the
jack plug at the end of the LED cable into the appropriate side port (the
same port used for recharging).
Once the LED headlight is connected to the control unit, press and hold
the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to switch on the illuminator (g.02).
To switch it o, press the ON/OFF button again for 3 seconds.

Collegare il LED all’unità di controllo (g.01) inserendo la presa jack posta
all’estremità del cavo del LED nell’apposito foro laterale (lo stesso foro
utilizzato per la ricarica).
Una volta collegato il LED all’unità di controllo, tenere premuto il tasto
ON/OFF per 3 secondi per accendere l’illuminatore (g.02).
Per lo spegnimento premere nuovamente il tasto ON/OFF per 3 secondi.

3” ATTENTION: Error signal
If the illuminator is switched on without connecting the LED headlight
to the control unit, the front indicators will light up red, indicating an
error.
When you connect the LED to the control unit, but the front indicators
light up red, indicating an error, it is recommended to screw the LED
back onto the base at the end of the cable (Fig.04).
ATTENZIONE: Segnale di errore
Se si eettuerà l’accensione dell’illuminatore senza aver collegato il
LED all’unità di controllo, gli indicatori frontali si illumineranno di rosso
segnalando errore (g.03).
Nel caso in cui il LED sia collegato all’unità di controllo, ma gli indicatori
frontali si illuminino di rosso segnalando errore, si suggerisce di riavvitare
il LED alla base posta all’estremità del cavo (Fig.04).

Light intensity level indication
Once the illuminator has been switched on, the indicators positioned on
the front (Fig.01) will turn blue, indicating the level of luminous intensity
of the LED headlight.
Light intensity levels
The light emitted by the LED headlight is adjustable according to 5
levels of intensity thanks to the minus (-) and plus (+) keys located in
the upper part of the control unit. Each time the minus (-) key is clicked,
the light intensity level will gradually decrease to a minimum of 1 (A).
On the contrary, with each click of the plus (+) key, the brightness
level will gradually increase up to a maximum of 5 (B). The brightness
level selected before switching o the device will be memorised and
re-proposed when turned on again.
Switching from luminous Intensity to Charge Status
With the device switched on, it is possible to switch from the indication
of the luminous intensity to that of the battery charge status by quickly
pressing the ON/OFF button (Fig.02)

Una volta acceso l’illuminatore Gli indicatori posti frontalmente (Fig.01) si
accenderanno di colore azzurro, segnalando il livello di intensità luminosa
del LED.
Livelli di intensità luminosa
La luce emessa dal LED è regolabile secondo 5 livelli di intesità grazie ai
tasti meno (–) e più (+) posti nella parte superiore dell’unità di controllo.
Ad ogni click del tasto meno (–) il livello di intensità luminosa si abbasserà
gradualmente no ad un minimo di 1 (A). Al contrario invece ad ogni click
del tasto più (+) il livello di luminosità aumenterà gradualmente no ad un
massimo di 5 (B). Il livello di luminosità selezionato prima dello spegnimento
del dispositivo verrà memorizzato e riproposto alla successiva accensione.
Switch da Intensità luminosa a Stato di carica
A dispositivo acceso è possibile passare dall’indicazione dell’intensità
luminosa a quella dello stato di carica della batteria premendo rapidamente il
tasto ON/OFF (Fig.02).

Attachment to the magnifying system
Hook the universal adapter
Open the clip of the adapter (included in the package) and place it over
the nose bridge of the loupes.
LED headlight fastening to the universal or custom adapter
After attaching the adapter to the loupes, attach the LED headlight to the
adapter using the magnet. The operation can be performed in the same
way on both the universal and the custom adapter.

Aprire la clip dell’adattatore (incluso nella confezione) e posizionarlo sopra il
ponte nasale del sistema ingrandente.
Aggancio del LED all’adattatore universale o custom
Dopo aver ssato l’adattatore al sistema ingrandente, agganciare il LED
all’adattatore con attacco magnetico. L’operazione può essere eseguita in
egual modo sia sull’adattatore universale che sull’adattatore custom.

Adjusting the LED
We advise you to adjust the inclination of the LED headlight so that the
light spot illuminates the eld of view, acting on the joint of the magnetic
coupling and the joint of the LED headlight. Once the correct position
has been established (Fig.01), we suggest tightening the screws (Fig.02)
using the Allen key (included in the package).
Use of the cable gland
To avoid hindrances caused by the LED cable during its use, we
recommend you fasten it through the cable glands to the frame of your
loupes (for more information download the quick guide dedicated to your
Loupes at the page www.univetloupes.com/userguide).
In the case of using non-Univet loupes, it is possible to use the spiral
wrapping band included in the package.
UV lter fastening
With a light pressure fasten the UV lter (included in the package) on
the front of the LED headlight.
Aggancio ltro UV
Con una lieve pressione agganciare il ltro UV (incluso nella confezione)
sulla parte anteriore del LED.
Regolazione del LED
È consigliabile regolare l’inclinazione del LED in modo che lo spot di luce
illumini il campo visivo, agendo sullo snodo dell’attacco magnetico e sullo
snodo della testa LED.
Una volta stabilita la corretta posizione (Fig.01), si suggerisce di serrare le
viti (Fig.02) utilizzando la chiave a brugola (inclusa nella confezione).
Utilizzo del passacavo
Per evitare intralci provocati dal cavo del LED durante il suo utilizzo, è
consigliato il ssaggio nei passacavi presenti sulla montatura del proprio
Sistema ingrandente (per approfondimenti scarica la quick guide dedicata al
tuo Loupes alla pagina www.univetloupes.com/userguide).
Nel caso di utilizzo con Loupes non di marca Univet, è possibile utilizzare
l’apposito passacavo a spirale incluso nella confezione.
