2. INTENDED USE
- The WEH®TVR200 Check valve has been exclusively designed for reliably preventing
return flow in a gaseous or liquid media flow.
ÎNever use the WEH®Product as a safety valve.
- WEH®Check valves were only developed for reliable return flow prevention. They
are not designed to be used as filling or safety valves. The separation or shut off
between different media or a medium and vacuum also does not represent a
fundamental intended use. If you have such an application or a similar application,
please contact us!
Note: The TVR valve has not been designed for use as a body that creates a complete
seal between two operating media, or one operating medium and the atmosphere or a
vacuum. The functionality of the inner seal depends on the pressure differential in the
seal direction along with many other operating conditions.
ÎOnly use the WEH®Product for industrial applications. The product was designed
and tested for that purpose. For automotive application, products with special
approvals are required.
- The WEH®Product is outfitted with an FKM seal as a standard feature. Other sealing
materials are available on request. Before using the product, please check the media
compatibility of the seals with your application.
- Only install the WEH®Product into a line system if the same medium is applied on both
sides and the system is operated at nominal load. Operation of a system at partial load
can cause flow disruptions that take effect in the form of vibrations or noises.
ÎAlways ensure that the WEH®Product is used only within the range of its intended use.
Please note in particular the technical data of the WEH®Product in Chapter 4 as well
as the marking on the WEH®Product itself.
- This WEH®Product is generally classified as pressure accessory in accordance
with Article 2 (5) of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and is
considered to be similar to piping. This WEH®Product may not be used as safety
accessory. Furthermore, it is pointed out, that this WEH®Product is designed and
placed on the market in accordance with the requirements of Article 4 (3) of the
Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. The assessment with regard to a
different classification can, however, be made on request.
Caution: Any use beyond the scope of application is considered as unintended use
and may result in personal injury and/or property damage.

5. STORAGE
51 Safety instructions for proper storage
ÎMake sure that you always comply with these following safety instructions and
storage time.
Attention: Improper storage of the WEH®Product can significantly reduce the
maximum service life.
ÎProtect the WEH®Product against damage, contamination, inappropriate storage
and excessive temperature fluctuations.
ÎStore the WEH®Product, the accessories and spare parts in the original packaging
until they are used for the first time and during periods when they are not being used.
ÎStore the WEH®Product within a temperature range of -40 °C up to +40 °C.
Storage temperatures outside this range may affect the service life of the WEH®
Product.
ÎDo not store the WEH®Product in the vicinity of heat sources. Avoid humidity and
condensation. The ideal relative air humidity for storage is approx. 65%.
ÎDo not store the WEH®Product together in the same space with solvents,
chemicals, acids, fuels or disinfectants.
ÎProtect the WEH®Product against light (especially against direct sunlight), oxygen,
ozone, heat, UV rays, solvents and other negative environmental influences. The
service life of parts made of elastomer or plastic may be substantially reduced by
such environmental factors.
ÎDo not stack WEH®Products. For storage and retrieval, follow the first-in-first-out
(FIFO) principle.
MD-10073-L51-R2.0.0-03 Page 13
Operating instructions AE

52 Storage
ÎFollow the safety instructions in Chapter 5.1 and observe the following storage
times. The appropriate storage period applies from the date of delivery (i.e. the date
of invoicing or goods issue date as recorded by WEH or its sales partner). If the
WEH®Product is installed in a complete system, the storage time depends on the
component with the shortest storage time.
Up to 3 years
ÎBefore use, check the surfaces of the external seals for cracks.
Attention: Any elastomer seals with fine cracks on the surface must
be replaced.
Note: If you should have any doubts about the ageing state of the
stored WEH® Product, please contact WEH.
Attention: Before commissioning, check the WEH® Product for leak
tightness. On this topic, seeChapter 8. Commissioning on page 17.
> 3 years - Before use, all elastomer seals must be replaced.
ÎFor this, send the WEH®Product to WEH for maintenance.

7. INSTALLATION
71 Safety instructions for installation
ÎCheck the information provided in these operating instructions and the label on the
WEH® Product. The information must conform to your application.
ÎOnly connect the WEH®Product to faultless connections.
ÎCheck the WEH®Product for transport damages, contamination and other damage. If
you should detect anything wrong with the WEH®Product, it may no longer be used.
Replace the WEH®Product or send it to WEH for maintenance.
ÎRemove transport securing devices (such as protection caps) before installing the
WEH®Product. Transport securing devices serve the purpose of protecting the
product and connection ports during transport and storage. The transport securing
devices are not, for example, designed to withstand pressure or to be used as plugs.
ÎEnsure that the system is depressurized. Installation must only be effected in
depressurized condition.
ÎInstall the WEH®Product carefully without exerting any force.
The product must not be exposed to any additional mechanical stress. Additional
mechanical stress, e.g. lateral forces caused by connected pipes, may lead to
leakages and may cause the product to burst.
ÎRelevant technical standards must be observed during installation.
ÎThe WEH®Product is mounted between two pipe or hose ends of the media hose
line. Installation of the product may be carried out with the media line in any position,
horizontal, vertical, diagonal etc.
Attention: Observe the direction of the flow – the flow direction is marked on the
housing.
Note: Please note the information about the installation position on the quotation. If
the opening pressure is particularly low, an incorrect installation position may
negatively impact the product's functionality.
ÎPrior to installation, check that the counterparts are designed in accordance with the
assembly data (see Chapter 7.2 Installing the check valve) specified for the WEH®
Product by WEH.
Note: The indicated assembly data (tightening torques, assembly turns etc.) are values
that apply only to the components delivered by WEH.

72 Installing the check valve
Please note: Subsequent mentions of descriptions and position numbers refer to
Chapter 3. Product overview / product description on page 10.
ÎUnscrew the protection caps from the connection ports.
ÎUse an open-end spanner to hold the spanner flats in place when installing the
WEH®Product.
ÎInstall the WEH®Product into your system in a pressure-tight manner at connections
"B1" and "B2".
For the tightening torque, please refer to the table below.
Attention: Please note the flow direction marked on the product.
Note: For tube fittings, please note the WEH®Operating instructions "Products with
double ferrule fitting".
Note: For NPT thread, first wrap Teflon tape round the tapered screw fitting
(1.5layers). Then screw the fitting finger-tight into the connection and install it in
accordance with the information in the table below.

8. COMMISSIONING
- Check the WEH®Product and connections for leak tightness before commissioning
for the first time.
ÎApply the operating pressure slowly to the WEH®Product slowly.
ÎUse a foaming leak detection agent to check the WEH®Product and connections to
the product for leak tightness. The test points must be sealed tight without any
bubbles.
Caution: Observe the technical data in Chapter 4 and all appropriate technical
standards and applicable legal requirements.
Attention: Do not use a leak detection spray that contains ammonia, since this could
cause corrosion to the product.
9. MAINTENANCE
ÎBased on intended use, the WEH®Product does not require maintenance. Inner leak
tightness can deteriorate over time due to various influences owing to the
applications.
91 Inspection
Regularly check the WEH®Product for leak tightness using
a leak spray at the separation point (Figure 1). This must be
performed at least once per year.
If the valve indicates values that are not permitted for your
application, please contact us.
10. DISPOSAL
ÎDispose of the WEH®Product appropriately when you no longer need it. Observe all
national and local regulations on disposal applicable at the time of disposal.
