1 Notes on the assembly and installation instructions
1.1 Qualifications
These instructions are intended for weinor retailers and partners and assume relevant
knowledge. All installation work must be performed by a trained electrician.
1.2 Notes on remote control units
•Remote control units transmitting on the same frequency may disrupt reception.
•The range of the transmitted signal is restricted by law and structural measures.
1.3 Depiction

2 Safety instructions
2.1 Fundamental safety instructions
•Keep unauthorised persons away from the unit until it is ready for use.
•The connected electrical load must tally with that listed in the technical data.
•The regulations of the local energy providers and the VDE 0100 provisions for humid and wet
areas must be observed.
•Only connect the remote receiver to devices approved by weinor.
2.2 Electricity hazards
•Work involving connections to 230 V mains may only be carried out by a trained electrician.
•Disconnect the unit from the power supply before performing any work.
•weinor recommendation: a residual current circuit breaker (trip switch) should also be fitted to
protect the indoor installation.
2.3 Intended use
•The BiRec On/Off remote-receiver is exclusively designed for switching electrical consumers,
which do not exceed a switching capacity of 2000 Watt, ON and OFF.
•Only devices, which have a power plug and voltage range compliant with the BiRec On/Off
version, may be used. The connected consumer may not exceed the maximum switching
capacity of the BiRec On/Off.
•The ambient area for the intended range of the BiRec On/Off is the residential and business
range as well as the small industrial range.
•Small devices in which malfunction could present a hazard to persons and animals or result
in damage, may not be connected to the BiRec On/Off.
•Interference due to other radio and telecommunication systems, which operate at the same
frequency, cannot be completely excluded.
•Radio operation is only permissible with the released dispatchers.
2.4 Improper use
The remote-receiver may only be used on the condition that a malfunctioning hand transmitter or
remote-receiver does not pose a danger to people, animals or objects. The device may only be
connected to devices and units approved by weinor. The system may not be operated in areas
where the transmitted signals might interfere with other devices (e.g. in hospitals or at airports).

With the BiRec On/Off, you have acquired an easy-to-handle remote-receiver equipped with
numerous possibilities of use, which allows the convenient wireless switching of electrical mains
powered devices over long distances. The BiRec On/Off possesses (bidirectional) routing
functioning.

4 Preparation for operation

Up to 16 dispatchers (sensors, hand transmitters) can be programmed in the BiRec On/Off
remote-receiver.
Permissible sensors are:
BiSens Sun-Solar, BiSens SWR-230V, BiSens SW-Solar and BiSens SW-230V.
Only the light telegrams are evaluated from BiSens SWR-230V, BiSens SW-Solar and the
BiSens SW-230V.
•The last command to be received is executed. The BiRec On/Off only reacts to the hand
transmitter if the automatic function is switched off. In this case, the BiRec ON/Off does
not react to sensor and time switching commands, except to prioritised alarm and clock
commands.
•The BiRec ON/Off controls the dimming function of the activated sensors. Double
commands (double UP or double DOWN) are handled like "simple" positioning
commands (UP or DOWN). I.e. The BiRec On/Off is principally unsuitable for ventilation
and intermediate position moving strategies. Switching times never limit themselves
independently. Automatic STOP commands are ignored.
•Switching from manual operation to automatic operation resets all sensor functions.
•Central channel switching commands are ignored.

6 Programming
6.1 Programming the remote-receiver BiRec On/Off
The system is supplied pre-programmed as a general rule. This means that, when the
system is delivered, all the components can be controlled using the hand transmitter
supplied. On rare occasions or if servicing has been carried out, however, the system will
need to be programmed on site. This is done by pairing up the hand transmitter and
remote receiver and setting them to various functions.
The mixed operation of bidirectional and unidirectional dispatchers is not possible.
The purpose of programming is the programming of one or more dispatchers on the
BiRec On/Off. With the programming of the first dispatcher, the remote operating mode of the
BiRec On/Off is defined at bidirectional operation or unidirectional operation - according to the
programmed dispatcher.
1. Plug the device into a power socket. The BiRec On/Off is placed in learning mode for 5
minutes.
2. If the BiRec On/Off receives the radio signal of an activated program button P (or learning
key P) within these 5 minutes, the BiRec On/Off is placed in learning mode for 2 minutes. In
learning modes, the BiRec On/Off changes its switching status (OFF / ON) in 3-second
cycles. There is a one second pause between the switching states. The learning sequence
starts with the switching status ON.
6.2 Programming of hand / wall transmitters
The BiRec On/Off does not react to manual central channel commands.
For the programming of hand / wall transmitters, the switching status (ON / OFF) can be learnt in
free allocation to UP / DOWN commands of the sensors.
1. Programming the switching status ON:
By single activation of the UP or DOWN button, define alerts during fast flashing of the
control lamp.
2. Programming the switching status OFF:
By single activation of the UP or DOWN button, define alerts during slow flashing of the
control lamp.
The programming procedure is completed.
If several dispatchers from the hand and wall transmitter group are programmed on the BiRec
On/Off, the last dispatcher to be programmed defines the allocation of all dispatchers within this
group.

6.3 Programming sensors
In relation to the allocation of the switching states, wind sensors have a higher priority
than light sensors.
For the programming of sensors (sensor transmitters), the switching status (ON / OFF) can be
learnt in free allocation to UP / DOWN positioning commands of the BiRec On/Off.
1. Programming the switching status ON:
By single activation of the UP or DOWN button, define alerts during fast flashing of the
control lamp.
2. Programming the switching status OFF:
By single activation of the UP or DOWN button, define alerts during slow flashing of the
control lamp.
The programming procedure is completed.
If several sensors are programmed on the BiRec On/Off, the last sensor to be programmed
defines the allocation of all sensors within the sensor transmitter group.
6.4 Deleting the BiRec On/Off remote-receiver
To delete individual dispatchers from the
receiver
Hold down the STOP key and LEARN key (1)
at the same time for approx. 10 sec.
To delete all dispatchers from the receiver
(default setting)
