INSTALLATION STEP 1
The Well Bubbler 10-120 AND 10-300 re designed for mounting on 1-5/8” ch nnel
strut, m nuf ctured by UniStrut nd U-Line. Begin the sensor inst ll tion by mounting
the strut ne r the well he d – either on tripod s shown below, or on b ckbo rd.
Orient the open f ce of the strut due South for inst ll tions in the Northern Hemisphere,
nd due North otherwise.

INSTALLATION STEP 2
Inst ll the Well Bubbler on the ch nnel strut using the 1/2-13 f steners included with
the unit. Tighten the f stener using 3/4 wrench; note th t the entire weight of the
unit is supported by this f stener – torque it ppropri tely.

Insert the 1/4” OD tubing into the push-to-connect fitting s shown below.
Depress the green push ring, nd pull the tubing, to remove it if necess ry.

Inst ll the fuse provided with the Well Bubbler into the fuse holder, s shown below.
Push the fuse holder in, nd rot te to the right, to eng ge the fuse. Do not substitute
this fuse with ny other type, or r ting – sp re fuses re shipped with the sensor.
The displ y should now ctiv te; note th t the Well Bubbler m y begin oper ting once
the fuse is inst lled. Refer to the following steps for ctiv ting, or tempor rily
de ctiv ting, the unit.
The fuse should be left inst lled whenever the Well Bubbler is mounted outdoors,
llowing the b tteries to m int in ch rge.

DIGITAL DISPLAY
The Well Bubbler includes digit l displ y used to view well level, flow r te, pump
disch rge pressure nd pump current. The s me displ y is used to st rt, or stop,
utom tic me surement nd to configure the Well Bubbler. The displ y includes three
buttons: center round button, the right rect ngul r button, nd the left rect ngul r
button.
Center (round) button: press this button once to turn on the b ck light; this fe ture is
useful in low light, nd will turn off utom tic lly to conserve energy. Press the center
button g in to move, or toggle, between different menus.
Right: press this button to incre se setting, such s the displ y contr st
Left: press this button to decre se, or lower, setting
Most menu items re used to configure the Well Bubbler, nd re ccessed through
speci l button sequence - this prevents un uthorized ccess to import nt settings.
Press, nd continue to hold, the center round button, then press nd hold the right
button. After five seconds, the configur tion menus become v il ble tempor rily.

DISPLAY: MAIN MENU
The m in menu is shown once the fuse is inst lled; it cont ins the following items:
Well level: the l st known v lue s me sured by the unit, with fully purged irline
Testing: the current pressure in the irline, in PSI, nd the ssoci ted well level
St t: the st tus indic tor shows the oper ting mode of the unit (Testing, W iting, etc.)
t: the timer showing the dur tion of the current test, nd the period between successive
test runs
Vb t: The intern l b ttery volt ge, nomin lly between 11.5V nd 14.4V
T: The intern l temper ture of the unit, in degrees F; shown for reference only

DISPLAY: CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT
The Bubbler djusts the displ y contr st utom tic lly, b sed on the displ y
temper ture, to improve visibility in bright sunlight. This menu c n be used to
override the utom tic djustment.

DISPLAY: WELL LEVEL
This menu shows the l st me sured well level, with fully purged irline. Note th t
this me surement is m de intermittently – for ex mple, every five or fifteen minutes,
nd only the l st known v lue is shown on the displ y.
The displ yed v lue m y be slightly different th n the ctu l “current” well
level, depending on the well ctivity nd s mpling period.

DISPLAY: FLOW RATE
This menu shows the l st me sured flow r te v lue. A 4-20mA or pulse-type flow
meter must be inst lled, wired to the Well Bubbler, nd configured correctly, to
me sure flow r te.
If pulse-type flow meter is used, the me surement is n ver ge c lcul ted over
sever l seconds, nd upd ted continuously. This me ns th t the displ yed v lue
m y be different from the one shown on the flow meter displ y, especi lly if the
flow r te is v ri ble.
Note lso th t the displ yed v lue m y be different th t the one recorded in the
d t log, or reported on the d shbo rd – those v lues re ver ged over the entire
me surement period of, for ex mple, five or fifteen minutes.
If 4-20mA flow meter is used, the displ yed v lue is the inst nt neous re ding
t ken during the l st well level s mple, nd will not be upd ted until the next
s mple is t ken – for ex mple, once every five or fifteen minutes. A new, upd ted
flow r te v lue will be displ yed if the center button is pressed repe tedly to
re ch this menu.

DISPLAY: DISCHARGE PRESSURE
This menu shows the l st me sured disch rge pressure v lue, t ken during the
l st well level s mple, once every five or fifteen minutes. A 4-20mA pressure sensor
must be inst lled, wired to the Well Bubbler, nd configured correctly, to me sure
disch rge pressure.
This v lue is not upd ted continuously, nd m y be different from the one shown
on mech nic l pressure g uge, especi lly if the disch rge pressure is v ri ble.
A new, upd ted disch rge pressure v lue will be displ yed if the center button
is pressed repe tedly to re ch this menu.

This menu shows the l st me sured pump current v lue, t ken during the l st well
level s mple, once every five or fifteen minutes. A 4-20mA current tr nsducer must
be inst lled, wired to the Well Bubbler, nd configured correctly, to me sure pump
current.
This v lue is not upd ted continuously, nd m y be different from the one shown on
cl mp meter, especi lly if the pump current is v ri ble.
A new, upd ted pump current v lue will be displ yed if the center button is pressed
repe tedly to re ch this menu.

CONFIGURATION: COMPRESSOR POWER
This setting determines the m ximum ir pressure nd flow r te gener ted by the
Well Bubbler. Use the f ctory setting of 75% for 5/32” OD nd 1/4" OD irlines;
higher v lues m y be necess ry when using 3/8” or l rger g lv nized sounding tube.
Reduce compressor power to 50%-65% when using the Well Bubbler 10-120 with
t nks or sh llow wells, to extend compressor nd b ttery life.
This p r meter must be set to 100% with ll 10-300 Well Bubblers.

CONFIGURATION: RUN MANUAL TEST
This menu llows for m nu l compressor oper tion. Use it to quickly verify th t the
compressor is oper tion l, or to m nu lly purge the ir line.
The def ult v lue of this p r meter is OFF; once turned ON, the compressor will run
for 10-20 seconds, then utom tic lly turn off.

CONFIGURATION: MANUAL PUMP CONTROL
The Well Bubbler is equipped with pump control rel y, which c n be used to
stop the pump when the w ter level is low, nd to re-st rt the pump s the w ter
level recovers.
This rel y is typic lly wired to pump control p nel HAND / OFF / AUTO switch.
Use the m nu l pump control menu to m nu lly oper te the rel y, nd verify th t
the wiring between the Well Bubbler nd the pump control is correctly inst lled.
Selecting “START” will oper te the pump; selecting “STOP” will stop it.

CONFIGURATION: AUTOMATIC MEASUREMENT
This menu item en bles utom tic well level me surement. Set this p r meter to ON
to begin me suring the well level.
Set to OFF if utom tic me surement is not needed, nd the Well Bubbler h s
good sunlight exposure or connected to 24V supply to m int in the b ttery
ch rge.
Remove the m in fuse if the unit will be stored long-term.

CONFIGURATION: COMPRESSOR ON TIME
The Motor ON time should be set to the f ctory def ult v lue of 3-5 seconds when
using 5/32” OD or 1/4” OD irline.
A l rger v lue, up to 10 seconds, m y be required when using 3/8" or l rger
g lv nized or st inless line.
V lues between 1 nd 3 seconds c n be used when me suring t nk level or
very sh llow wells, to extend compressor life nd conserve b ttery ch rge.

CONFIGURATION: MEASUREMENT DELAY
The Me surement Del y time should be set to the f ctory def ult v lue of 3-5
seconds when using 1/4” OD irline. A l rger v lue, up to ten seconds, should
be used with 5/32” or sm ller di meter tubing.

CONFIGURATION: MEASUREMENT PERIOD
The Me surement Period determines how often the Well Bubbler will me sure the
well level, nd uxili ry sensors (flow r te, disch rge pressure nd pump current).
The lower the me surement period, the more often the Well Bubbler will oper te.
Typic l v lues for 10-120 models re five or fifteen minutes; 10-300 models c n
s mple between thirty nd sixty minutes, when using sol r power only.
When powered from n extern l 24V supply, ll models c n s mple t up to five
minutes. Note th t sm ller me surement period results in incre sed we r on
the compressor.
E ch Well Bubbler will utom tic lly incre se its me surement period if the b ttery
is below 12.2V; the unit will stop oper ting nd hibern te t b ttery volt ges below
12.0V, to preserve the b ttery.

CONFIGURATION: AIR LINE LENGTH
The ir line length is me sured from ground level (top of c sing, s nit ry se l, or
motor / ge r he d b se), to the end loc ted in the well, typic lly just bove the
pump bowls.
The irline length between the disch rge nd the Well Bubbler does not m tter,
nd should not be entered here - only the length of ir line ctu lly in the well is
used to me sure well level. The Bubbler itself c n be loc ted s f r w y from the
well s necess ry, without ffecting me surement ccur cy.
Enter the ctu l ir line length to report “w ter below ground” - this is the v lue
provided by well sounder, nd typic lly shown on pump tests, nd well reports.
Enter zero to me sure nd report “w ter bove the pump” - this option is used when
only the w ter column bove the pump is of interest, or the ir line length is
unknown. This v lue is lso used when me suring t nk nd reservoir levels.
