GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
OPERATION
ON / OFF / SET BUTTON
• Press and Release - Turns the tool ON / OFF
• Press and Hold (4 Seconds) - Resets reading to ZERO
ABS / IN / MM BUTTON
• Press and Release - Switches between absolute
measuring mode and relative measuring mode ("INC")
• Press and Hold (4 Seconds) - mm / in conversion

TOOL USE AND CARE
1. Avoid exposure to any liquids or excessive humidity.
2. Avoid exposure to electromagnetic fields or high voltages.
3. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
4. Use and store the instrument within the recommended temperature ranges.
5. Do not drop or apply excessive force to the instrument.
6. Do not attempt to disassemble the instrument.
7. Do not press the keys with a pointed object.
8. Use a dry soft cloth or cotton swab to clean the instrument. Ethyl alcohol can be used.
9. Do not use solvents (such as acetone or benzene) to clean the instrument.
CALIFORNIA PROP 65 WARNING
Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities may contain
chemicals, including lead, known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive
harm. Wash hands after handling. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints.
• Crystalline silica from bricks, cement, and other masonry products.
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure
to these chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area with approved safety equipment such as dust masks specially
designed to filter out microscopic particles.

NOTE: When taking measurements, do not touch the measuring faces of the micrometer. The small amount
of oil on your hands can affect the accuracy of your reading.
SPINDLE LOCK
Turn the spindle lock clockwise to lock the instrument. Do not rotate the thimble or ratchet when the lock is
engaged. Turn the spindle lock counterclockwise to unlock the instrument.
RATCHET & THIMBLE
Rotate the ratchet to make quick adjustments the spindle; rotate the thimble to make fine adjustments to the
spindle. When you hear a clicking sound during the rotation of the thimble, that means the spindle and anvil have
exerted adequate pressure on the subject and an accurate reading can be taken.
NOTE: The instrument will automatically turn OFF if it is not used for five minutes to preserve battery power.
Remove the battery if the instrument is not being used for an extended period of time.
OPERATION
WARNING! Follow the safety instructions below for handling and maintaining batteries.
• Do not short circuit batteries.
• Do not keep batteries near fire, sources of heat, or use in direct sunlight.
• Remove batteries from tool when not being used to an extended period of time.
• Never handle leaked batteries. Do not dismantle batteries.
• Recycle used tool and batteries at your local recycling facility.
• Remove the battery if the instrument is not being used for an extended period of time.
BATTERY WARNINGS
After each use, wipe clean the instrument clean with a soft cloth. DO NOT use any type of solvent. DO NOT
immerse the instrument in liquid. Water damage may cause the display to fail. If this happens, wipe off the liquid
and reset the instrument by removing the battery for 30 seconds. Then reinstall the battery and turn the tool ON.
