Each riser is shipped in two cartons, one shorter carton containing the chassis and the hardware pack
and one longer carton containing the Back Rail and Steps.
Assembling a riser will likely involve kneeling. Use carpeting, a rug, or the cardboard carton to soften a
hard floor and prevent scratching riser surfaces.
Risers should be assembled indoors, in a well-lighted space with a level floor. Choose an area close to
the performance space. Make sure risers will fit through doors between the assembly area and the
performance space.
One person can assemble a riser, but two people will make the job easier.
ATTENTION!!!
The following assembly instructions are intended for the risers to be used in an Arc Configuration.
For use in a Straight Configuration, alternating riser sets must be assembled with the Steps and Back
Rail reversed. See “Straight Configuration” on page 16.

CHASSIS ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the Chassis Assembly, Stringer Assemblies, Truss Supports and Hardware Pack
from the carton. Place the Chassis Assembly (wheels down) on the floor.
2. Cut and remove the plastic shipping bands.
3. Position the Truss Support inside the Chassis Frame
with the square hole at the top and angled towards the outside.
4. Insert a 3/8-16 x 1” (short) Carriage Bolt
through both of the aligned holes from the
backside of the Chassis Assembly and the
Truss Support.
5. Secure both Carriage Bolts with a
3/8-16 ock Nut.
6. Rotate the Truss to align with the
square holes at the top of the Truss Supports.
7. Secure the Truss to the Truss Supports with
two 3/8-16 x 1-3/4” Carriage Bolts and
3/8-16 ock Nuts.

8. Place both Stringer Assemblies on the threaded studs of the Chassis Assembly.
9. Place a Carriage Sleeve over each of the four threaded studs.
10. Secure the Stringer Assemblies and Sleeves using
a 3/8-16 ock Nut on each of the four threaded studs.
Tighten the ocking Nuts securely.

BACK RAIL ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the Upright Tubes, Horizontal Tubes and Steps from the carton.
2. Remove the End Caps from the bottom end of both Upright Tubes and set them aside.
Note: Do not discard the End Caps, they will be re-attached later.
3. Cut and remove the plastic band securing the Bracket
at the rear of both Stringer Assemblies.
4. Insert the open bottom end of one Upright Tube
into the Guide Plate.
5. Attach the Upright Tube to the Bracket with
two 3/8-16 x 2-3/4” Socket Screws.
Note: It may be necessary to lift up
on the Chassis Assembly sli htly
to et the Screws started.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the other
Upright Tube.
7. Securely tighten all four Screws.

8. ocate the three Horizontal Tubes.
Remove and discard the protective rubber caps
from each of the threaded studs.
9. Insert the threaded studs of the Horizontal Tubes
through the predrilled holes in the front side
of the Upright Tubes.
Attach them with six 3/8-16 Jam ock Nuts and
tighten securely.

The Back Rail Assembly must
remain attached at all times.
Removal can cause riser
instability and could result in

STEP ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the four Wing Nuts from each of the three Steps
and set them aside.
Note: Do not discard the Win Nuts, they will used
to attach the Steps to the Riser.
2. Start with the longest Step at the top and place the
Steps on the Stringer Assemblies in descending
order with the widest end at the rear as shown.
Fit the threaded studs in the proper holes in the
Stringer Assembly.
3. Secure the Steps using the Wing Nuts.
Turn the Wing Nuts as tight as possible
by hand (or gently using a pliers).

1. ift up on the ower Step to fold the riser to the Storage Position.
2. Replace the End Caps at the bottom of the
Upright Tubes.
3. Note where the edge of the ower Step
contacts the surface of the Upright Tubes.
Apply a piece of Velcro to both of the
Upright Tubes at the points of contact
to protect the painted surfaces.
SAFETY CHECK
With the riser in the Performance Position, check the fasteners for tightness:
a. Six ocking Nuts on the Chassis.
b. Four Screws on the Back Rail Upright Tubes.
c. Six ocking Nuts on the Back Rail Horizontal Tubes.
d. Twelve plastic Wing Nuts (four under each Step).

The Riser must be put into the Storage Position to be moved and stored.
To place the Riser in the Storage Position:
1. ift up on the First Step and fold it up to the Back Rail.
2. The Riser can now be moved and stored.
3. To place the Riser in the Set Up Position, lower the
First Step to the ground.

Risers can be connected to additional units using the Unit Connector Brackets installed on the Steps.
To connect risers together:
1. Roll an additional riser to be aligned as close as possible with the riser already placed
in the Performance Position.
2. Unfold the riser into the Performance Position, setting the Rear Step onto the Rear Bracket
of the already placed riser.
3. ift the Front Step of the already placed riser over the Front Bracket of the additional riser.
4. If necessary, shift the positioning of the connected risers to fit tightly together.

The previous assembly instructions were for Arc Configurations.
To arrange risers in a Straight Configuration, every other riser in the configuration must have
the positioning of the Steps and the Back Rail Horizontal Tubes reversed.
1. With the riser in the Performance Position, remove the four Wing Nuts
from the underside of each Step.
2. Remove each Step and rotate 180 degrees.
Reattach the rotated Steps in reverse order with the longest Step at the front
and the shortest Step at the rear.
Reattach the Wing Nuts to the underside of each Step.
3. Remove the Back Rail Horizontal Tubes by removing the ocking Nuts
on the rear side of the Upright Tubes.
Reattach the Horizontal Tubes through the rear side of the Upright Tubes
and secure the ock Nuts from the front side.
