Smoke Mate - Leakage Tester

The Smoke Mate allows technicians to pinpoint all manner of leaks including air intake, cooling,
evaporation, fuel, exhaust and vacuum systems.
• Fast and simple to use, maximising earning potential.
• Features single button operation, flow control and auto power-off.
• Uses mineral oil (baby oil) and workshop air supply to generate smoke at a low pressure
while connected to a vehicle.
• System is clean, quick to use and connects to a 12V vehicle battery.
• Includes: 17x Pipe Blockers & 4x rubber cone adapters.
• Mineral oil not included.

Working in a clean and safe environment.
This task should be carried out by trained personnel.

Instructions
1. Unscrew the 6 black
screws from the top and
remove the oil cap, then
remove the top panel.
2. Unscrew the 3 silver
screws and remove interior
cylinder lid.
3. Remove the wick and
leave it to soak in mineral oil
thoroughly for 5 minutes.
Note: The fiberglass wick is con-
sidered a consumable and is not
covered by warranty. Failure to
properly soak the wick will result
in it burning out immediately.
4. Replace the wick and
refit the cylinder lid and
top panel with their original
screws.
5. Fill with oil at the intake
on top, until the gauge on
the front left corner is full,
then replace cap.
Max Capacity: 75ml
6. Connect the power cable
to the socket on the right
side of the machine, then
the clips to a 12V vehicle
battery.
7. Remove the red cap on
the left side of the machine
and screw the air line
adapter in place.
8. Attach your air line to
the adapter and adjust the
pressure using the gauge
on the corner. Your air input
pressure should not exceed
14psi (1bar).

Normal wear and tear along with misuse will void any warranty. Consumables are not covered under warranty.

9. Fit the correct size of
adapter cone, or the smoke
hose to the smoke nozel.
10. Press the heating switch
on the front of the device,
and ensure both power and
heat lights are active. From
cold, the heater may need
time to achieve vaporisation.
Note: The heater element is timed
to operate for 4¾ minutes, after
which it will switch off
automatically.
11. If necessary, fit the
correct size of blocker cap
to one end of the pipe you
are testing, then the smoke
hose or adapter to the other
end and begin operation.
Adjust the volume of smoke
by altering the air flow rate.
If smoke output drops during operation it may indicate it is time to replace the wick.
Do NOT remove the oil cap during operation.
