Figure 1-7 Mounting flanges oriented to install Remote RMM-700 in a 19-inch rack.
To install Remote RMM-700 flush with the rack face, use screws to attach the mounting
flanges to the three openings near the front of the device as shown in Figure 1-7. Orient
the short and long sides of the mounting brackets as needed to fit the rack width
The installer can place the Remote RMM-700 to protrude from the front of the rack or
to be recessed behind the front by changing the flange orientation and/or by attaching
the flanges to the openings at the rear of each side.
To attach Remote RMM-700 to a wall, attach the flanges to the openings at the rear of
each side, oriented so the other side of the flanges are flush with the rear of the device.
The Remote RMM-700 can then be attached to the wall with screws turned through
openings on the flanges.
Step 3: Attach Remote RMM-700 to Rack
Install mounting screws and lock washers into the mounting holes and tighten firmly to
the face of the rack. No space is required between Remote RMM-700 and any
component above or below Remote RMM-700.
Step 4: Attach Chassis Ground
Connect the chassis ground on the front face of Remote RMM-700 to a suitable ground
such as the frame ground of a rack system or a reliable earth ground.
CAUTION: The chassis ground must be connected to the same earthing electrode
conductor as the DC supply system or to a bonding jumper (from an
earthing terminal or bus) connected to the earthing electrode of the DC
supply system.
The chassis must be located in the same immediate area (such as adjacent
cabinets) as other equipment connected to the same DC power system
