Thelasersafetyclassindicatesthe riskpotentialbasedon thelevelof accessiblelaserradiation.
ThewidlaserC900 isa Class2 (US:classII) lasersystem.
Integratedlaser sourceofthe widlaserC900is aClass 4(US: classIV) lasersystem.
Class2 (US:class II)
TheaccessiblelaserradiationofClass2(US:classII)lasersystemsdoesnotposeanyhazardforthe
skin.Anyshort-termradiationoftheeyesalsoposesno riskduetothe low-leveloutput.Inthe event
of longer,moreintensive radiation,the eyeis protectedby the natural lidreflex.
ThewidlaserC900usesaClass2 (US:classII)pilot laser.Inordertoprevent irritation oftheeyes
duringoperation,theoperatorshouldnotlookdirectlyatthelaser source.
Diffusereflectionsofthepilotlaserare entirelyharmless.
Class4(US:classIV)
Highpoweredlasers(visibleor invisible)consideredtopresentpotentialacutehazardtotheeyeand
skinforboth direct(intrabeam)andscatter(diffused)conditions.Alsohave potentialhazard

The operator ofclass4 lasersystemsalways hasto wear appropriatesafety glasses.
Anindicator (typicallya light)toprovidea warningoflaseremissioninadvanceof andduringtheemission

Themachine´selectricalconnectionmustbegrounded.

According tothisclassification,the widlaser C900is aClass I product.
Theseappliancesmusthavetheirchassisconnected toelectricalearth(US:ground)byaseparateearth
conductor(coloredgreen/yellowinmost countries,greenintheUS,CanadaandJapan). The earthconnectionis
achievedwitha3-conductormainscable,typicallyending with3-prongACconnectorwhichplugsinto a
correspondingACoutlet.Thebasicrequirementisthatnosinglefailurecanresultindangerousvoltagebecoming
exposedsothatit might causeanelectricshockandthatif afaultoccursthesupplywillberemovedautomatically(this
issometimesreferredtoasADS=AutomaticDisconnectionofSupply).
Afaultintheappliancewhichcausesaliveconductortocontactthe casingwillcauseacurrenttoflowinthe
earthconductor.Iflargeenough,thiscurrentwilltripanover-current device(fuseorcircuitbreaker (CB)) and
disconnectthesupply.Thedisconnectiontimehasto be fastenough not toallowfibrillationtostartifapersonis in
contactwiththecasingatthetime.Thistime andthecurrentratinginturnsets amaximumearthresistance
permissible.Toprovidesupplementaryprotectionagainsthigh-impedancefaultsitiscommontorecommenda

Safetyprecautions

responsibleforensuringandmaintaininga suitableextraction systeminplaceandforcompliancewith therelevant
guidelinesinordertoprotectindividualsandtheenvironment.
Themachineisequippedwithan observationmaindoorismadeof laserresistingplastic.Inordernot todamage
it,itshouldonlybe cleanedwithcleanwaterandpossiblyalittledetergentifnecessary.Use asoftcloth in ordernotto
scratchthe surface.
ATTENTION
Benzene,alcohol,acetone,solventorsimilarcleaningagentswilldamagethelaserprotectionpolycarbonate,
whichmustbereplacedimmediately.
