Thelasersafetyclassindicatesthe riskpotentialbasedon thelevelof accessiblelaserradiation.
ThewidlaserC1000 isa Class2 (US:classII) lasersystem.
IntegratedlasersourceofthewidlaserC1000isaClass4 (US:classIV)laser system.
Class2 (US:class II)
TheaccessiblelaserradiationofClass2(US:classII)lasersystemsdoesnotposeanyhazardforthe
skin.Any short-termradiationoftheeyesalsoposesno riskduetothe low-leveloutput.Inthe event
oflonger,moreintensiveradiation,theeyeisprotectedbythenaturallidreflex.
ThewidlaserC1000usesaClass2 (US:classII)pilotlaser.Inordertoprevent irritation oftheeyes
duringoperation,theoperatorshouldnotlookdirectlyatthelasersource.
Diffusereflectionsof thepilot laserare entirely harmless.

Accordingto thisclassification,thewidlaserC1000is a ClassIproduct.
Theseappliancesmusthavetheirchassisconnected toelectricalearth(US:ground)byaseparateearth
conductor(coloredgreen/yellowinmost countries,greenintheUS,CanadaandJapan).The earthconnectionis
achievedwith a3-conductormainscable,typicallyendingwith3-prongACconnectorwhichplugsinto a
correspondingACoutlet.Thebasicrequirementisthatnosinglefailurecan resultindangerousvoltagebecoming
exposedsothatit might causeanelectricshockandthatif afaultoccursthesupplywillberemovedautomatically(this
issometimesreferredtoasADS=AutomaticDisconnectionofSupply).
Afaultintheappliancewhichcausesaliveconductortocontactthecasingwillcauseacurrenttoflowinthe
earthconductor.Iflargeenough,thiscurrentwilltripanover-currentdevice(fuseorcircuitbreaker(CB))and
disconnectthesupply.Thedisconnectiontimehasto be fastenoughnot toallowfibrillationtostartif apersonisin

Safetyprecautions

definedandobserved,sothatundertheaspectofsafetynounclearquestionsofcompetenceoccur.

responsibleforensuringandmaintaininga suitableextraction systeminplaceandforcompliancewiththerelevant
guidelinesinordertoprotectindividualsandtheenvironment.
Themachineisequipped withan observationmaindoormadeoflaser resistingplastic. In ordernottodamageit,
itshouldonlybecleanedwithcleanwaterandpossiblyalittledetergentifnecessary.Use a softclothinordernot to
scratchthe surface.
ATTENTION
Benzene,alcohol,acetone,solventorsimilarcleaningagentswilldamagethelaserprotectionpolycarbonate,
whichmustbereplacedimmediately.
Scratches must also be avoided. The laser protection polycarbonate must be replaced immediately if it
