2. Installation and initial start-up
The RoMatik 150 must be installed and connected to the on-site supply and waste pipes by a trained fitter in
accordance with the ”Installation Instructions for Winterhalter Gastronom RoMatik 150”.
The initial start-up procedure and briefing of the customer must be carried out according to the ”Start-up In-
structions for Winterhalter Gastronom RoMatik 150”.
For this purpose, contact the Winterhalter factory representative responsible for your site once the appliance
has been correctly connected up.
The RoMatik 150 is not ready for operation until all the necessary work has been completed.
3. Safety instructions for the operator
The following instructions must be observed in the interest of safe operation:
•Only operate the appliance as described in these operating instructions.
•Only use this appliance after having read and understood the operating instruc-
tions and been personally briefed on its workings and operation.
•The operating instructions are an integral part of the appliance! In the event
of a resale of the RoMatik 150, be sure to pass on the operating instructions
to the new owner/operator.
•Risk of injury: Do not open any coverings or machine parts for which the use of a
tool is required.
•Electric shock hazard: Do not interfere with the electrical equipment of the appli-
ance yourself under any circumstances: always leave this to a qualified electrician.
•The appliance may only be connected to a cold water supply
(max. 25°C).
•The appliance can only function properly if it is permanently connected to
the power and water supply. If not, unpleasant odours may occur in the water
due to microbiological processes and the appliance may be damaged.
•If the RoMatik 150 is to be taken out of operation for more than 2 weeks (dis-
connected from power and water supply), the membrane has to be mois-
tened by Winterhalter after-sales service.
•Any faults which are not due to the on-site water or power supply lines must be re-
ported to the Winterhalter after-sales service.
•If a leak occurs in any part of the appliance, shut off the water supply immedi-
ately and remove the mains plug in order to de-energise the appliance.
•Check all water connections for leaks once a month. Leakages outside the ap-
pliance are not detected by its safety system.
•The appliance must not be stored in rooms at temperatures below 5° C.
•The appliance is not splash-proof. Do not clean the outside with a wet cloth or
with a high-pressure or steam-jet cleaning device. Do not use detergents. Only
wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
If the appliance cannot be protected against splash water for structural reasons, an
additional substructure should be provided.
•Take care to avoid crushing hoses or cables when moving or cleaning the appli-
ance.
