PRODUCT
Radiolucent leg holder (foot support) for 6 stable positions in open knee
surgery.
CHECK BEFORE USE
Before using the LegholderRX®, check the following: the intactness of the
padding, the adhesiveness of the Velcro straps, the tight attachment of the 4
stirrups to the base plate, and the presence of the 8 black rubber pads on the
base of the LegholderRX®.
INSTALLATION
Used as a leg positioner (foot support) in open knee surgery, usually in
combination with a commercially available side support on the thigh, the
LegholderRX®is attached to the operating table with the short Velcro straps
over one half of the leg support, and with the long Velcro straps over one half or
over the entire leg support. The sterile cover is then placed over it.
DISPOSAL
As combustible waste or plastic recycling.
MATERIAL
High quality plastic, latex free.
Inert to cleaning agents such as surface-active chemicals and alcohol.
HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS
The LegholderRX®does not require any special treatment. Since it is mounted
under the sterile drapes, it does not need sterilization. In certain tests, the
LegholderRX®did not suffer any damage during sterilization at 134°C steam
sterilization.

MAINTENANCE
The LegholderRX®itself is maintenance-free.
The Velcro straps are subject to a certain degree of wear. It is recommended
to check every 6 months or after 100 uses whether the tapes still adhere
sufficiently.

CLEANING
The LegholderRX®can be cleaned
easily using commercially available
cleaners such as high-proof alcohol,
surface disinfectants, all-purpose
cleaners, as well as anionic and non-
ionic surfactants. The use of iodine
preparations is harmless but can lead
discoloration and is therefore not
recommended.

STORAGE
It is recommended not to store heavy objects on the LegholderRX®. This
prevents deformation and damage to the padding. The storage temperature
must be between -20°C and +60°C.
WARRANTY
The product is made of high-quality materials and undergoes quality inspection
before delivery. The warranty on the product is 5 years (except Velcro straps).
If there are any defects, please contact us the manufacturer or your distributor.
COMPLICATIONS
There are no known complications with the LegholderRX®.

tensile force (50N) with the Velcro
straps in the opposite direction.
Secure the position by bonding the
corresponding contact surfaces.
Place the LegholderRX®sideways,
with the stirrups facing outwards
and with the highest bracket at the
end of the corresponding side from
the foot end of the operating table.
Insert the Velcro straps through the
oblong hole with the drawing facing
upwards.

Note: The surgical underpad must be separated or cut through across one half
of the leg support in the gap to the opposite leg support during assembly.
Pull until the Velcro straps pass
completely through to the end bolt
locks and rotate the LegholderRX®
to the correct position.
Insert the Velcro straps through the
second oblong hole.

With the long Velcro straps, the LegholderRX®can also be fastened over only
one half of the leg support. Proceed in the same way as with the short Velcro
straps, but wrap the Velcro straps around the LegholderRX®once more.

The proximal Achilles tendon comes to rest on the highest support. The less high
support lies proximal to it. The lateral support should lie in the longitudinal center
of the thigh. Vertically, the lateral support should be positioned to provide sufficient
support to the leg during both full extension and full flexion.
This ensures that the support is effective during extension, e.g. for opening the
medial knee compartment during arthroscopy, and during strong flexion, e.g.
single-leg tibial plateau during knee prosthesis implantation.
