Wartung / Maintenance
• Die Staubschutzkappe ist unmittelbar nach
den Messvorgängen wieder auf den
Ausgang anzubringen
• Um Schäden am Netzteil und dem
Testsender zu vermeiden, ist der
Spannungsbereich des Netzteiles zu
beachten
• Der optische Ausgang ist regelmäßig zu
reinigen
• Die max. Eingangsleistung darf +30 dBm

Beschreibung / Description
Mit dem optischen Messempfänger
OL 55 0000 wird die eingehende optische
Leistung, aus einem aktiven Gerät oder ei-
nem passiven optischen Netzwerk (PON)
gemessen. Aufgrund des Arbeitsbereiches
von 800…1700 nm sowie den FC/PC und SC/
PC Adaptern, ist der Messempfänger flexibel
einsetzbar. Der Messbereich beläuft sich auf
-50…+30 dBm und ist ideal auf die Kombina-
tion mit dem Testsender OL 51 0000
ausgerichtet.
By using the optical measurement device
OL 55 0000, the incoming optical power of
an active unit or a passive optical network
(PON) can be measured. Thanks to the wide
operating range from 800 to 1700 nm, as well
as FC/PC and SC/PC adaptors, the measure-
ment device can be used flexibly.. The mea-
surement range is between -50 and +30 dBm,
which is ideal in combination with the test
transmitter
OL 51 0000.

Spannungsversorgung / Power supply
OL 55 0000 is powered by 3 batteries or
rechargeable batteries of the type AA.
The recharging has to be done externally,
as it is not supported by the test transmitter.
Operating time with batteries: ~45 hours
OL 55 0000 ist mit 3 Batterien oder Akkus des
Types AA zu betreiben.
Akkus sind in einem externen Ladegeräte
aufzuladen, der Testsender hat keine
Ladefunktionalität.
Betriebsdauer mit Batterien ca. 140 Stunden.

Um das Geräte auszuschalten den Taster „5“
für 1 Sekunde halten.
Die Auto-off Funktion ist nach jedem Ein-
schalten aktiv, deaktiviert wird diese durch
einfaches betätigen des Tasters „5“.
Bei aktiver Auto-off Funktion schaltet sich der
Teststender automatisch nach 10 Minuten ab.
To switch off the unit, press the „5“ button
for 1 second. The auto-off function is activa-
ted... To deactivate this function, press the
„5“ button once.
With activated auto-off function, the test
transmitter will switch off automatically after
10 minutes.

Messvorgang / Measurement process
1. Ausgang von OL 51 0000 mit dem
gereinigten Ende des optischen Kabels
verbinden (Kerbe des FC/PC Steckers be-
achten)
2. Optischer Testsender einschalten und auf
die Auto-off Funktionalität achten.
Deaktivieren -> Seite 4
3. Messwellenlänge festlegen, typischerweise
1310 nm
4. Am Ende des optischen Kabels oder der
Verteilstruktur das Messgerät OL 55 0000
anschließen
5. Optisches Messgerät einschalten und die
Auto-off Funktionalität beachten
6. Messwellenlänge einstellen. Diese muss
mit der Wellenlänge des Testsender
OL 51 0000 übereinstimmen
7. Die eingehende optische Leistung wird
angezeigt. Diese ergibt sich aus der
Ausgangsleistung der Quelle (OL 51 0000
mit -7 dBm) abzüglich der Dämpfung aller
dazwischen installieren Komponenten
(Verteiler, Kabel, Dämpfungsglieder, usw.).
1. Connect the output of OL 51 0000 with
the cleaned end of the optical cable
(consider note the centering pin of the FC/
PC connector)
2. Switch on the optical test transmitter and
and pay attention to the auto-off
functionality. Deactivation -> page 4
3. Select the measurement wavelength,
typically 1310 nm
4. Connect the OL 55 0000 measuring device
to the end of the optical cable or
distribution network
5. Switch on the measurement device
OL 55 0000 and note the auto off
functionality
6. Select the measurement wavelength.
It has to be the same wavelength as that
of the OL 51 0000
7. The incoming optical power will be
displayed.
This is the result of the source output po-
wer (OL 51 0000 with -7 dBm), minus the
attenuation of all installed components,
such as splitter, cable, attenuators etc.
