13. Tipps zur Pflege Ihres Rasens
Rasenpflege war noch nie so einfach
Beste Zeit zum Mähen
Mähen Sie Ihren Rasen, wenn das Gras trocken ist. Dann kann das geschnittene Gras nicht verklumpen und Haufen
auf dem Rasen hinterlassen. Mähen Sie lieber am späten Nachmittag als in der Hitze des Tages.
äufigkeit des Mähens
Mähen Sie häufig, damit kurzer und kleiner Rasenschnitt erzeugt wird. Während der Wachstumsphase sollte alle drei
bis f nf Tage gemäht werden, damit das Gras nicht zu hoch wird. Kurz geschnittenes Gras kompostiert schneller und
bedeckt die Rasenfläche nicht. Wenn das Gras zu hoch wird, stellen Sie eine größere Schnitthöhe ein, mähen Sie und
verkleinern Sie die Schnitthöhe dann sukzessive ber mehrerer Mäheinsätze hinweg.
Schnitthöhe
Befolgen Sie die „1/3-Regel“. nicht mehr als ein Drittel der Rasenhöhe
mähen. Richtiges Mähen erzeugt kurzen Rasenschnitt, der die Ober-
fläche des Rasens nicht abdeckt.
Wenn der Rasen, zum Beispiel im Fr hling, schnell wächst, m ssen Sie
eventuell häufiger oder doppelt so oft mähen.
Grasrecycling
Grasrecycling reduziert die Wassermenge, die Ihr Rasen benötigt, da der Rasenschnitt aus 80–85 % Wasser besteht.
Grasrecycling verlangsamt die Verdunstung an der Oberfläche des Rasens und spart Wasser. Die meisten Rasen benö-
tigen mit Grasrecycling weniger Wasser.
Gießen
Gießen Sie Ihren Rasen zwischen 04:00 Uhr und 08:00 Uhr morgens. So hat das Wasser Zeit, zu versickern, bevor es
durch die Hitze der Sonne verdunstet.
Ihr Rasen benötigt 3–4 cm Wasser pro Woche. Tiefes Wässern ermöglicht es dem Gras, ein tiefes Wurzelsystem zu
entwickeln. So kann der Rasen Krankheiten und Trockenheit besser berstehen.
Gießen Sie nicht zu viel
Zu viel Gießen bedeutet nicht nur Verschwendung, sondern kann auch die Torfbildung beg nstigen, wodurch häufi-
geres Mähen erforderlich wird. Lassen Sie die Erde teilweise trocknen, bevor Sie erneut gießen. Gießen Sie dann, wenn
die oberen 5 cm der Erde gut abgetrocknet sind. Nehmen Sie ein Objekt wie z. B. einen Schraubendreher, um in die
Erde einzustechen und zu messen, wie tief die Feuchtigkeit geht.
Düngen
Mit Grasrecycling benötigen Sie weniger Rasend nger, da der Rasenschnitt den Rasen mit ungefähr einem Viertel sei-
nes jährlichen Bedarfs an D nger versorgt.
Messer
Halten Sie Ihr Messer immer scharf. Ein scharfes Messer sorgt f r einen sauberen, sicheren und effizienten Schnitt.
Stumpfe Mähmesser zerreißen und zerfetzen die Grasspitzen. So können Krankheitserreger in den Rasen gelangen
und die Graspflanze schwächen. Es ist empfehlenswert, das Mähmesser jährlich zu wechseln.

Rasenschnitt und Heu ist nicht dasselbe. Wie zuvor schon erwähnt, besteht Rasenschnitt aus ungefähr 80 bis 85 %
Wasser und einem kleinen Anteil an Lignin und er kompostiert auch sehr schnell.
Wenn wir einmal dar ber nachdenken – Golfplätze, Sportplätze und Parks werden ber Jahre ohne Grasfangeinrich-
tung gemäht.
Eine kleine Menge Heu (ungefähr 1,2 cm) ist tatsächlich f r den Rasen vorteilhaft. Rasenschnitt sch tzt das Wurzelsys-
tem Ihres Rasens vor Hitze und Wasserverlust.

reparation –
1. Ensure the orre t installation of the Perimeter Wire system as instru ted.
2. Periodi ally inspe t the area where the unit is to be used and remove all stones, sti ks, wires, bones, and other foreign
obje ts.
3. Periodi ally visually inspe t to see that the blade is not worn or damaged. Repla e worn or damaged blade in sets to
preserve balan e.
Operation –
1.Do not operate the unit if any safety feature or any part is damaged, worn or inoperable.
2. Keep hands and feet away from the utting blade and other moving parts.
3. Never pi k up or arry the unit while the motors are running.
4. Do not leave the unit to operate unattended if you know that there are pets, hildren or people in the vi inity.
5. Never mow while people, espe ially hildren, or pets are nearby.
6. Always swit h off the Safety Swit h before lifting the mower or attempting any adjustments.
7. Do not tou h the blade before the blade has ome to a omplete stop.
8. Do not use the unit for any purpose other than for whi h it is intended.
9. Keep all guards, shields, safety devi es, and sensors in pla e. Repair or repla e damaged parts, in luding de als.
Transportation –
To safely move from or within the working area:
1. Press the STOP button to stop the unit.
2. Use the Remote Control (available as an a essory) to drive it from pla e to pla e.
3. In ase of different height level, swit h off the Safety Swit h, and arry the mower by the
arrying handle.
4. In ase of long transportation, use the original pa kaging.
5. When transporting the unit over long distan es swit h off the Safety Swit h.
IM ORTANT! After turning on the Safety Swit h, always re-set the urrent day and time.
Failure to do so may result in non-intentional operation of the unit.
Using Remote Control (Manual Mowing)
1.Mow only in daylight or in a good artifi ial light and avoid operating in wet grass.
2. Do not operate the unit when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Always wear substantial footwear and long trousers;
always be sure of your footing on slopes.
3. Use extreme aution when reversing the mower towards you.
4. Always swit h on the motor a ording to instru tions with feet well away from the blade.
5. Do not mow manually in slope greater than 15 degrees or where a firm footing is not possible.
Maintenance and Special Instructions –
1. Always swit h off the Safety Swit h of the unit before learing blo kage/ he king/ leaning/ working on the unit or
repla ing the blade. Never attempt to servi e or adjust the mower while it is in operation.
2. In ase of abnormal vibrations, stop the mower, swit h off the Safety Swit h and he k for any damage of the blade. Repla e
worn or damaged blade to preserve balan e. If vibration ontinues, all for servi e.
3. Use heavy gloves when inspe ting or servi ing the blade.
4. Do not perform maintenan e when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Always wear suitable work shoes and long trousers;
5. Repla e worn or damaged parts for safety.
6. Use only the original equipment and a essories. It is not permitted to modify the original design of the unit. All
modifi ations are made at your own risk.
7. Maintenan e/ Servi ing / Cleaning of the unit should be a ording to manufa turer's instru tions.
8. Keep all nuts, bolts and s rews tight to be sure the ma hine is in safe working ondition.
9. Warning! When there is a risk of a lightning storm, dis onne t the Perimeter Wire from the Base Station / Perimeter Swit h
and the Power Box 230V/120V plug from the power outlet.

Batteries –
1. Do not open or damage the battery pa k.
2. The battery pa k should be repla ed by a servi e dealer only.
3. The Battery Pa k ontains ele trolytes. In ase of an ele trolyte leakage from the battery pa k, the a tions des ribed below
are required:
Skin onta t: Wash the onta t areas off immediately with plenty of water and soap.

Eye onta t: Flush the eyes with plenty of lean water for at least 15 minutes immediately, without rubbing.

Get medi al treatment.

4. Ensure that the battery pa k is harged using the orre t harger re ommended by the manufa turer. In orre t use may
result in ele tri sho k, overheating or leakage of orrosive liquid from the battery.
roduct End of Use –
1. Unit and its a essories should be olle ted separately at the end of their life to prevent waste ele tri al and ele troni
equipment from ending up in landfill sites, to promote the reuse, treatment and re overy of ele tri al and ele troni
equipment with the purpose to preserve, prote t and improve the quality of the environment, prote t human health and
utilize natural resour es prudently and rationally.
2. Do not dispose the unit or any other part of it (in luding the Power Box, Base Station and Perimeter Swit h) as unsorted
muni ipal waste – it should be olle ted separately.
3. Ask your lo al distributor/dealer about return and olle tion systems available.
4. Do not dispose the battery pa k in a fire and do not pla e used batteries in your household trash.
5. The battery must be olle ted, re y led, or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
Safety Features
1.4.
Child Lock 1.
The Child Lo k prevents unintended operation of the unit by an a idental press of one of the buttons. Only pressing of two
buttons in a ertain order will initiate the operation.
Anti-Theft / Disabling Device 2.
The Anti-Theft / Disabling Devi e system provides the user a disabling fun tion that will prevent anyone from using or
driving the unit unless they have the valid ode to enter. You will be prompted to enter a four digit ode of your hoi e to
use as your personal se urity ode.
Lift Sensor 3.
In the event the unit is raised from the ground during blade operation, the blade will stop rotating immediately.
Tilt Sensor
4.
In ase the unit is tilted up towards a verti al position, the blade will stop immediately.
Obstruction Sensor 5.
The unit dete ts when there is an obsta le in its way during operation. When the mower ollides with an obsta le, the unit
will stop the rotation of the blade immediately, will stop movement in that dire tion and reverse itself away from the
obsta le.
Emergency Stop Button 6.
Pressing the STOP button at any time during operation will stop the unit and the blade immediately.
Safety Switch 7.
Swit hing off the Safety Swit h will prevent any operation of the unit. It is required to swit h it off before lifting the unit and
before any maintenan e is done.
Sealed Batteries 8.
The batteries that operate the unit are ompletely sealed and will not leak any type of fluids, regardless of position.
Base Station / erimeter Switch and erimeter Wire 9.
The unit annot operate without a Perimeter Wire installed and a tivated through the Base Station / Perimeter Swit h.
In the event the Perimeter Swit h is turned off or otherwise fails to fun tion, the unit will stop operating.

2. Know Your Unit
How Your Unit Works for You 2.1.
•First, you need to install a perimeter wire around the entire lawn and
around prote ted areas within the lawn area.
•The Perimeter Wire sets the boundaries for the unit. The Perimeter Wire
is laid around the edges of the lawn and around trees, plants, ponds
and obje ts that you want to prevent the unit to run into.
•If the supplied wire is not suffi ient, more wire an be pur hased and
spli ed with a supplied onne tor to the existing wire.
•Small pegs are used to fasten the Perimeter Wire into the ground,
below grass level.
•The Perimeter Wire will gradually disappear under the growth of new
grass until it will be invisible.
•The Base Station is pla ed along the Perimeter Wire. It performs two
basi fun tions:
•Generate a signal along the Perimeter Wire.
•Charge the unit’s batteries.
•The Power Box is onne ted between the Base Station and a 230V /
120V wall so ket, using a 15m (50 ft.) long low voltage able.
•After having ompleted the installation of the Perimeter Wire, Base
Station, and the Power Box, and performing the One-Time Setup [needs to be performed before operating the
unit for the first time – detailed instructions are in the following chapters], the unit will do all the mowing for
you for during the entire season!
•The unit is a roboti lawn mower that is powered by a maintenan e-free battery. It leaves its Base Station at
s heduled mowing times. The unit mows the lawn and then drives ba k to the Base Station to be harged and
ready for its next s heduled mowing.
•As soon as the unit departs for mowing, the Base Station automati ally triggers a spe ial signal. This signal
reates a virtual wall, visible only to the unit. This signal keeps the unit within the lawn boundaries, and prevents
it from entering areas it was intended to skip or prote t.

Operation Method 2.2.
•The unit is a roboti lawnmower designed to mow and maintain your lawn ompletely by it.
•Simple One-Time Setup – The unit requires a simple one time setup, whi h an easily be done by the onsumer. The unit
re ognizes the wire using spe ial sensors, and makes sure it always stays inside the designated area. Essential a essories
are supplied with the produ t.
•Working Method –

The unit will automati ally mow the lawn. It ontinuously alternates between mowing and harging.

It independently leaves the Base Station and uts the lawn by moving around it in a random pattern, until the
entire area looks evenly ut.

Edge Cutting - Unlike other roboti lawn mowers, this unit is the only mower that has a spe ial Edge mode, in
whi h it follows the perimeter wire for omplete overage of the lawn edges. The unit is the only the mower to
ut outside the wheels.

Strong Cutting System -The unit’s extra sharp blade enables to perform the first ut of the season, when the
grass is relatively high.

TurboMow Mode - TurboMow feature allows faster and stronger mowing of a high
grass during the first ut of the season (see P026 in Se tion 6.4.2 for more
information).

SmartMow Mode - SmartMow feature allows more effi ient mowing operation
through smooth and ontinuous turns at lawn’s edge (see P024 in Se tion 6.4.2 for
more information).

Sear h the Base Station -The unit starts to sear h for the Base Station when the
battery apa ity be omes low. It does not mow when it is sear hing for the Base
Station.

The unit will then re harge and pro eed mowing as needed. It will ontinue in
mowing until ompleting the required mowing time for your lawn (based on the
area you have set).

When ompleting the mowing of the entire area (Mowing Cy le), the unit will stay
in the Base Station until the next Mowing Cy le will start.

Unit ompletes two Mowing Cy les per week in order to keep your lawn healthy
and good looking. However if your lawn requires more time to maintain your lawn,
you an easily adjust the time the unit runs in a single Mowing Cy le.

The Operating Panel on the top of the unit is where you manage the mower and
operating settings.

Availability- The mowing width of the unit (28 m / 11”) and the powerful utting
system help the unit to finish the job very fast and leave your lawn free for the
family to enjoy.
•A Remote Control is available as an a essory and is used for driving the unit to a separated
zone, if ne essary. It is also used for mowing small pat hes of grass that annot be rea hed in
automati operation.
•Grass cycling -The unit uts the grass into very small lippings that are buried in the roots of the
lawn, where they de ompose and a t like a natural fertilizer. Grass lippings ontain 80-85%
water and release valuable nutrients that return ba k into the soil. It is the natural re y ling of
grass.
•Robomow® App – a mobile appli ation (available for Android and iOS), whi h enables user
friendly and intuitive operation of your unit, and opens additional menu options and features the
unit.

3. lanning Ahead
Getting your lawn ready for the unit is rather simple.
Still, as ea h lawn is unique, we re ommend reading this hapter before starting to install the perimeter wire.
Planning the wire route and drawing a sket h of the lawn, in luding all obsta les and Base Station lo ation, will
make it easier and will prevent mistakes during the setup.

Please omplete reading this “Planning Ahead” hapter before you start the setup. It will guide you in finding
the best lo ations for the Base Station, Power Box, and for the Perimeter Wire.
The Perimeter Wire fun tions as an “invisible wall” for the unit. It sets the boundaries of lawn zones and it surrounds
spe ifi areas where you do not want the unit to enter. The Perimeter Wire is held to the ground with small pegs,
supplied with the unit. Soon after settling, the wire will be ome invisible under the growth of new grass.
As soon as the unit starts operating, it turns on a signal that runs along the Perimeter Wire. This signal keeps the unit
within its working zones and away from preset demar ated areas.
Lawn Types: What does your lawn look like? 3.1.
There are 3 basi types of lawns: Some lawns are ombinations
of more than one type.
Your first task is to determine whi h type is yours.
Unit model without a Base Station, then your zones should
be defined as 'Separated Zone' (refer to Paragraph 3.2.3, 4.8
and 6.5)
oMain Zone Only
The unit will simply mow this lawn within its set
boundaries.
oMain Zone + Sub-Zone(s)
The unit will mow the Main Zone and will move
automati ally to the Sub-Zone(s).
oSeparated Zone
The unit will mow ea h zone separately. Its movement
between zones is restri ted. Thus, you will have to bring
the mower from the Main Zone to the Separated Zone
every time you want to mow it.
3.1.1. « Main Zone Only » Type Lawn
The “Main Zone Only” lawn onsists of one whole area. It has
no Sub- Zones and no Separated Zones.
If you answer “yes” to all of the following questions, your
lawn is a “Main Zone Only” type lawn:
oIs your grass area one ontinuous zone?
And:
oAre all areas of your lawn wide enough for the unit
to navigate through effe tively? (Min. 3 meters (10
ft.) wide at its narrowest point).

If your lawn is “Main Zone Only”, you an skip to Se tion 3.3 of this hapter to determine the Base Station Lo ation.
3.1.2. “Main Zone + Sub-Zone(s)“ Type Lawn
This type of lawn onsists of more than one zone
and these zones are onne ted by a narrow pass.
In this type of lawn, the unit will be able to drive
from one zone to the other in order to mow the
whole area.
If you answer “yes” to all of the following
questions, your lawn is a “Main Zone + Sub-Zone”
type lawn:
oIs your grass area one ontinuous area?
oAre parts of your lawn separated from the
Main Zone?
oIs there a Narrow Pass of at least 1m (3.3 ft.)
for the unit to drive through between these zones?
oIs this Narrow Pass firm, level and smooth (not stony, sandy or elevated)?
For example: grass area, sidewalk, firm path, solid ground.
Su h additional areas are alled Sub-Zones.
If your lawn ontains a Sub-Zone as defined in this se tion, refer to Se tion 6.4.2 (Add Sub-Zone - number p022 in the
table).
Defining Sub-Zone(s) will enable the unit to drive through the Narrow Pass in order to get to a Sub-Zone and to mow
both the Main Zone and its Sub-Zone(s) one zone at a time.
If your lawn does not mat h this des ription, skip to the next Se tion 3.1.3 of this hapter: “Separate Zones”
3.1.3. “Separated Zones” Type Lawn
“Separated Zones” type lawn onsists of two or more zones that are not onne ted. The unit annot drive between
these zones.
If you answer “yes” to at least one of the following questions, your lawn is of the “Separated Zones” type.
oAre parts of your lawn separated by fen es,
sidewalks, or other obje ts that the unit annot
pass?
Or
oAre parts of your lawn separated by a gravel
path or similar material that may damage the
mower blade?
Or
oAre the zones of your lawns joined by a pass too
narrow for the unit to drive through: less than
1m (3.3 ft.) in width?
Or
oAre the zones of your lawn situated at lower or
higher level?
If your lawn ontains a Separated Zone as defined in this se tion, refer to Se tion 6.4.2 (Add Separated Zone - number
p014 in the table).
If your lawn does not fit any of these des riptions, it is probably either a “Main Zone Only” or “Main Zone + Sub-
Zone” type. Skip to Se tion 3.3 – Sele t Base Station and Power Box Lo ation.

3.2.1. Base Station Location Guidelines
•Do not pla e the Base Station within 3 meters (10 ft.) after
a orner (relevant for Internal Setup only - se tion 3.2.2).
•The Base Station should be within 15m (50 ft.) of a power
outlet (230V / 120V).
•If the lawn has more than one zone, pla e the Base
Station within the largest zone.
•Make the Base Station invisible to the street to avoid
theft.
•Sele t a shady spot. This will extend battery lifetime.
•Pla e the Base Station on a relatively level ground. Do not
pla e it on a slope.
•Pla e the Base Station away from sprinkler heads.

There are two options to set the Base Station:
3.2.2. Internal Setup (on the lawn perimeter)
•Choose a pla e along the Perimeter Wire where you
want to pla e the Base Station, based on the inputs
given in paragraph 3.2.1.
•Pla e the Base Station in the dire tion shown in the
figure to the right.
3.2.3. External Setup (off the lawn perimeter):
There are two types of External Setup:
A. At a corner
In this type of setup, the Base Station is lo ated at one of
the corners of the lawn, as shown in the figure at the right.
• Choose a corner where you want to pla e the Base
Station outside of the lawn area.
• Pla e the Base Station, where its front side is tou hing
the lawn edge or pla ed somewhat on the lawn.
• Continue to lay the perimeter wire as shown in the
figure to the right, where it ontinues at least 10 m (4”)
beyond the Base Station and turns ba k towards the
lawn at a distan e of 10 m (4”) from the other wire.
• The Base Station may be pla ed in a small shift to the
right in order to allow smooth entry of the unit to the
Base Station.
• You will have the opportunity to later adjust the Base
Station position to onfirm smooth entry.
B. Outside the lawn
(Can be set only through the unit App for specific
models)
•Choose a pla e outside the lawn where you want the
unit to do k and harge.
•Confirm the path between the lawn and the outside area
is smooth with no height differen e, so the unit will not
get stu k and will follow the wire smoothly.
•The surfa e between the lawn and the Base Station
should be hard (su h as a sidewalk or rigid ground) and
not sandy or stony, so the unit will not slip or get stu k
on it.
•The area between the lawn and the Base Station should
be lear of obsta les and obje ts.
•Lay the wire as shown in the figure to the right:

Narrow path of 50 m (20”) width.

Square Perimeter Island of 30 m (12”) edges.

Island starts 50 m from the Perimeter Wire.

Keep a distan e of 10 m (4”) between Perimeter Wire
and the Island from both sides.

The front of the Base Station should be pla ed a

The Power Box is suitable for Outdoor use. Yet, it should be pla ed in a sheltered, dry and well ventilated spot.
The Power Box should not be exposed to dire t sunlight or rain.

3.4.1. Objects inside lawn
•Obje ts su h as flower beds, ponds, or small trees an
be prote ted by reating “ erimeter Islands”, whi h
are demar ated areas of the lawn, where the unit does
not enter.
•In the areas where obsta les are grouped losely
together, they should be demar ated by a single,
ontinuous Perimeter Island.
•Obsta les that are verti al, relatively rigid, and higher
than 15 m (6 in hes), su h as trees, phone or power
poles, do not need Perimeter Island. The unit will turn
when it ollides with these obsta les.
3.4.2. Slopes
Slope on the perimeter
•The Perimeter Wire an be laid a ross a slope that
slants less than 10% (10 m rises per 1m).
CAUTION! If the Perimeter Wire is laid a ross a slope
steeper than 10%, there is a risk that the mower will
slip and ross outside the wire, espe ially when the
grass is wet'.
However, if there is a barrier (e.g. fen e or wall) that
an prote t the mower from slipping off, the Perimeter
Wire an be set on that slope.

Slope inside the lawn
•The unit an mow areas inside the working area with a slope of up to 35% (35 m rise per 1m).
•Tip: If the unit tilts off the ground while limbing a slope, it is too steep. Ex lude this steep area from the unit’s
utting area.

3.4.3.
Distances from the Edge ( ools, onds, Cliffs, etc.)
•RoboRuler is used to measure the distan e from the edge, where the wire is to be pla ed.
•In ertain ases, near bodies of water su h as pools and ponds, or great height differen es su h as liffs, it is
required to maintain a greater distan e from the Edge (see Se tion 4.2.2).

4. Initial Setup
reparations 4.1.
Recommendations before you start:
During setup, you will insert pegs into the ground. To
omplete this task smoothly, we re ommend not to do it
while the grass is high and to water it before starting.
4.1.1. Getting Ready
Make sure all parts needed for setup are within rea h. Have
the unit box nearby, so all items are available.
In addition, you will need the following tools: A hammer,
small flat s rewdriver, Phillips s rewdriver, Combination
Pliers.
4.1.2.
Installing the ower Box
Mount the metal bra ket onto a verti al surfa e with the
provided s rews. Make sure the narrow part with the holes
fa ing up as shown in the figure to the right.
•Pla e the Power Box above the metal bra ket and slide it
into pla e along the verti al surfa e.
•Conne t the Power Box to a regular power outlet (230V / 120V).
4.1.3. Charging the battery before the first operation
You an harge the unit battery while running the setup of
the Perimeter Wire. This will ensure that the unit will be
ready for operation when the setup is ompleted.
•The power of the mower is swit hed off when shipped
from the fa tory. Swit h on the Safety Swit h to power
on the mower.
•Conne t the DC Cable oming from the Power Box to the
Charging So ket at the rear side of the unit.
•Confirm the Battery LED on the unit is blinking, whi h is
an indi ation of harging.
•Leave the unit onne ted to the Power Box while
ompleting the setup of the Perimeter Wire.

4.2.
Before you start the setup, you should have a plan for the Perimeter Wire layout and for the lo ation of the Base Station.
Your plan should onsider the following:
oWhat type of lawn areas does your lawn have?
(Main Zone Only / Main + Sub-Zones / Separated Zones / ombination of types).
oAre there prote ted or ex luded areas on the lawn? (Perimeter Islands).
oAre there any slopes that the unit should avoid?
oAre there edges of pools, ponds, and liffs et ., whi h need an extra distan e from the Perimeter Wire?

Starting oint: erimeter Wire at the Base Station area.
•Pla e the Base Station, a ording to your plan, as
shown in the figure to the right.
! Do not place the Base Station within 3m (10 ft.) of
a corner.
•Sele t the roll of wire with a green plot onne tor
atta hed to the end.
•Pull the plot onne tor and some wire out of the
plasti overing.
! Do not remove the spool of wire from its covering.
The plastic covering is the dispenser for the wire.
•Peg the beginning of the wire to the ground, where
the Base Station will be lo ated. Pegs are supplied in
the unit’s box.
•Pull out 30 m (12 in hes) of wire and leave it loose
near the Base Station lo ation. Later, at the end of the
setup, this part of the wire will lose the Perimeter Wire
loop.
•Start laying the wire in an anti lo kwise dire tion.
•Continue to pull the Perimeter Wire out of its overing,
laying it loosely as you walk along the lawn edge.
! If you get to any area /object that needs care or
special boundaries, make sure you carefully lay the
erimeter Wire as needed. The next sections deal
with such special cases.
4.2.1. Laying the erimeter Wire
oThe Perimeter Wire is se ured to the ground by pegs
supplied with the unit. Initially insert pegs every few
meters and at orners. At this early stage set a
minimum number of pegs. Later, after testing the
wire setup, you will insert all ne essary pegs.
oAfter un oiling some wire, before inserting pegs, use
the RoboRuler to determine the distan e of the wire
from the lawn edge or obsta les.
•If the working area borders with a flat area, a flower
bed, a small liff (not more than 1 m / 0.4”), or a
small stair (up to 5 m / 2”), the Perimeter Wire
should be laid 20 m (8 in hes) inside the working
area. This prevents the wheels from driving into a
dit h. Use the shorter distan e of the RoboRuler to
set the distan e of the wire from the lawn edge.
•If the edge is sloped (max 10% is allowed) or is
bordered with high obsta les su h as a wall or
fen e, the Perimeter Wire should be laid at a
distan e of 28 m (11 in hes) from the obsta le.
Use the longer distan e of the RoboRuler to set the
distan e of the wire from a wall.

• If the working area borders against a flat path
that lies level with the lawn, it is possible to allow the
unit to run over the path. The Perimeter Wire should then
be laid 10 m (4 in hes) from the edge of the path.
• When the working area is divided by a flat path
that is level with the lawn, it is possible to allow the unit
to run over the path. The Perimeter Wire an be laid
under the pavement blo ks or in the joint between
them.
Important! The mower must never run over gravel,
mul h, or similar material, whi h an ause the mower to
slip and damage the blade.
IM ORTANT INFORMATION
If the working area is adja ent to a swimming
pool, water ourse, slope greater than 10%,
pre ipi e higher than 50 m (20 in hes) or a
publi road, the Perimeter Wire must be
supplemented with a fen e or the like. The
height must then be at least 15 m (6 in hes).
This will prevent the mower from ending up
outside the working area under any
ir umstan es.
If su h a barrier exists, you may set the
Perimeter Wire 28 m (11 in hes) from the
barrier.
If there is no fen e or the like, then lay the
Perimeter Wire at minimum distan e of 1.2m
from the water.
oMaintain a 45° angle in all left-turn orners when
laying the wire along the perimeter. It is not
ne essary to maintain 45° angle on right-turn
orners along the perimeter.
oContinue laying the wire, a ording to your plan.
Gradually pull the wire out of its dispenser and lay it
loosely as you are moving in an anti lo kwise
dire tion.

4.3.1. Hard Obstacles
oObsta les that an withstand a ollision, for example, trees or bushes higher
than 15 m (6”), do not need to be demar ated by the Perimeter Wire. The unit
will turn when it ollides with this type of obsta le.
4.3.2. erimeter Islands
oUse the Perimeter Wire to demar ate areas inside the working area by reating
islands around obsta les that annot withstand a ollision, for example, flower
beds and fountains.
oContinue un oiling the wire, moving from the edge towards the prote ted obje t.
oPeg the Perimeter Wire around the prote ted obje t in a lo kwise dire tion.
oComplete bordering the island and return to the spot where you left the lawn’s edge
oThe wires leading to the Island and from it should be parallel and tou hing.
Therefore, peg both wires, to and from the island, together with the same pegs.
oThe unit will not re ognize these two wires. It will mow over them as if they do not exist.
oThe unit will re ognize the single blo king wire around the Perimeter Island and will not enter this area.
CAUTION! Setting the Perimeter Wire anti lo kwise around the obsta le
will ause the unit to drive into the island
Keep the following distan es when setting Perimeter Islands:

The minimum distan e of the Perimeter Wire from the
prote ted area should be 28 m (11 in hes).

If you need to prote t a thin obje t, set the minimum radius
of the Island to 35 m (15 in hes).

Maintain a minimum of 1m (3.3 ft.) between adja ent islands.

Maintain a minimum of 1m (3.3 ft.) between island wire and
the Perimeter Wire.

If prote ted obje ts are grouped losely together, demar ate
them as a single Perimeter Island.
