BEFORE USE AND OPERATION
INTENDED USE
This shredder is designed for cutting of fibrous and
woody garden waste for composting.
ASSEMBLING
•Takethemachineoutofthepackaging.Removethe
transport protection. (See Fig. A&B)
•Thewheelsandstandmustbemountedaccordingto
figures C and D.
BEFORE USE
Open the cover of the inlet (15), use the proper
mating connector for connecting to power
supply, before operating the appliance, ensure
the mating connector is firm connected with
inlet.
Always use the correct supply voltage
The power supply voltage must match the information
quoted on the tool identification plate.
The circuit must at least be protected with 13A house
fuse.
Use only extension cables suitable for outdoor use,
preferably with a high visibility cord color. With the
following specification:
•Forextensioncablesupto25meters,acrosssection
of 3 x 1.5mm2is required;
•Forextensioncablesover25meters,thecrosssection
must be 2.5mm2.
Always completely unwind cable reels.
WARNING! Always place the machine on
solid, level ground. Do not tilt or move
during operation.
Remove earth from roots. Foreign material such
as stones, glass, metals, fabrics or plastics must
not enter the feed opening. Otherwise this could
damage the cutting roller (12).
INITIAL OPERATION (See Fig. E)
The rotational direction switch (8) must be in the
position to the right. The feed opening (1) must be
empty.
Switching on:
Press the green button ‘I’ to switch on.
Switching off:
Press the red button ‘0’ to switch off.

The motor will coast after switching off!
Rotational Direction Switch (8)
Before switching the rotational direction, always switch
the machine off and wait until it STOPS.
Right position: The cutting roller pulls in and
mulches the material.
Left position:The cutting roller runs backward
and frees jammed material.
Overload protection
Overloading (e. g. blocking of the cutting roller) causes
the machine to stop and the overload protector will be
activated. The on/off switch (5) will spring to position
“0” in a few seconds. Switch the rotational direction
switch (8) to the left position (backwards).and after a
short period press the reset button (7) and then restart
the machine.
LED overload indicator
LED overload indicator (6) will illuminate green one by
one as the load becomes increasingly heavier. When
theYellow indicator is illuminated, it is indicating that
the shredder load is becoming high. When the red light
illuminates then this indicates that the shredder load
is too high and will eventually cause the machine to
activate the safety cut out.
NOTE: The Reset button WILL have to be pushed
to reset the machine!
The state of the illuminating of green light is
recommended when operating the machine, which can
increase the life of the machine.
OPERATION
WARNING! Always wear eye protectors
and protective gloves when operating the
machine.
Insert material to be mulched. The material will be fed
by the cutting roller (12) without further assistance.
WARNING! Longer material standing out
from the machine could lash out when
being pulled in by the knives! Please keep at
safe distance!
Insert only as much material as can be fed without
stuffing the feed opening (1) .
Mulch withered, moist material and garden waste which
has been stored for some days alternately with branches.

This prevents the cutting roller (12) from clogging. Do
not mulch soft waste without solid substance
such as kitchen waste. This material should be
composted directly.
The mulching of dry hardwood branches with the
maximum allowable diameter is also possible with a
sharp cutting roller (12).
MALFUNCTIONS
WARNING! Before switching the rotational
direction, always switch the machine off and
wait until it stops.
Garden waste does not feed by itself:
•Thecuttingroller(12)isrunningbackward:Switch
rotational direction.
•Thematerialtobemulchedissoftandwet:Pushinto
machine with a piece of wood or change to mulching
branches.
•Thematerialtobemulchedjamsinthefeedopening(1):
Place rotational direction switch (8) in the left position to
free the material.
Thick branches are not pulled in:
•Checkcuttingroller(12):Ifheavilyworn,itmustbe
replaced.
Motor does not run:
Check the overload protection, reset the overload
protector.
Check the house fuse. The circuit must be protected with
at least 13A fuse
Direction of rotation switches automatically:
When the machine is suddenly blocked (e. g. owing to
accumulated mulched material), the direction of rotation
of the cutting roller switches automatically. In this case
switch the machine off, wait until it stops and switch it on
again.
Cutting Roller is blocked
1. Place rotational direction switch (8) in the left position,
switch machine on.The cutting roller (12) runs backwards
and releases the mulched material (or foreign material). A
special gear construction with rotational angle play allows
the motor to start in the opposite rotational direction even
if the cutting roller (12) is blocked. It is not necessary to
loosen and readjust the pressure plate (11).
2. When the caught material is free, switch off machine,
set rotational direction switch (8) to the right position and
switch back on.

3. If the blocking cannot be eliminated by actions 1 and
2, the cutting roller (12) must be removed, checked for
damage, and cleaned as described in section “Exchanging
the Cutting Roller/Pressure Plate”.
Exchanging the Cutting Roller/Pressure Plate
WARNING! Before any work on the machine
itself, pull the mains plug.
WARNING! The blade is very sharp. Wear
thick gloves when replacing the blade or
carrying out any maintenance.
•Disassemblethecuttingroller(12)/Pressureplate(11)

If the machine should happen to fail despite the care
taken in manufacture and testing, repair should be
carried out by an authorized customer services agent.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Before any work on the machine
itself, pull the mains plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and the ventilation slots clean.
The shredder should not be cleaned with high pressure
cleaners or running water.
The tightness of the attachment screws for the transport
stand should be checked from time to time.
The cutting roller (12) and the pressure plate (11) have
a life expectancy of several years under normal usage
and when adjustment according to instructions.
Before storing the machine, remove the cutting roller
(as described in the Section “Replacing the Cutting
Roller/Pressure Plate”) and clean. Then treat the cutting
roller with preservation spray and grease the bearings.
