SPECIFICATIONS
Product Description
Hand cups use vacuum to lift and carry loads, as follows: A manual pump
removes air from between the rubber pad and the contact surface; a red line
on the pump's plunger serves as a vacuum indicator; a check valve allows the
user to repump the cup without removing it from the contact surface; and a
release mechanism allows the cup to disengage completely.
*Maximum Load Capacity includes a 3:1 safety factor and requires the
following: attachment on clean, smooth, nonporous at surfaces; a minimum
vacuum level of 17½" Hg [-59 kPa]; and a friction coe󰀩cient of 1. This rating
is based on tests of new hand cups attached to the upper, horizontal surface
of static objects in ideal conditions. Many factors can reduce the capacity,
including: lifting a load when the cup is attached to a vertical or inclined
surface; or lifting a load that applies leverage to the cup. See

Load and Environmental Conditions
Use the cup on clean, relatively smooth, nonporous surfaces, at temperatures
from 10° to 120° Fahrenheit [-12° to 49° Celsius]. Moisture or contaminants
can reduce the slip resistance of the cup. The red-line indicator may not
perform reliably at elevations above 5000 feet [1524 meters]; see Service.
OPERATION
To Attach
1) Position the hand cup on the contact surface so the red line will be visible
if it should appear while lifting the load. CAUTION: Test the cup for staining
or deformation of load surfaces with light colors or soft coatings.
2) Pump the plunger until the cup attaches completely. When the red line is
hidden, vacuum is su󰀩cient for lifting.
3) Check the plunger frequently to make sure the cup remains securely
attached. If the red line appears while lifting, set down the load immediately
and pump the plunger until the red line is hidden again (see WARNINGS).
To Release
1) Set the load on a secure support.
2) Pull one of the release tabs (on 6" [15 cm] cups) or press the valve
release lever (on other cups) until the cup disengages completely.
CAUTION: Remove the cup when not in use.
MAINTENANCE
Service
Since aging and wear reduce the capacity of the rubber pad, it should be
replaced at least once every 2 years or whenever damage is discovered (see
Inspection).
If the hand cup does not function normally, the cup face may be dirty or the
cup may require service. First clean the cup face according to the directions to
follow. If the condition persists, contact an authorized dealer or visit
www.WPG.com for assistance.
Cleaning
1) Remove the air lter from the cup face.
2) Use a clean sponge or lint-free cloth to apply soapy water or another mild
cleanser to the cup face; see WARNINGS and www.WPG.com for more
information. CAUTION: To prevent liquid from contaminating the pump, hold
the cup face-down or cover the suction hole in the lter recess.
3) Wipe all residue from the cup face.
4) Allow the cup to dry and reinstall the air lter.
Inspection
Examine and test the cup regularly to make sure it does not exhibit the
following faults:
• cuts or damage to sealing edges of rubber pad.
• cracks or dents in handle or pump.
• reappearance of red line soon after attaching cup.
• sluggishness or dramatic changes in pump action.
• excessive glaze or sti󰀨ness of rubber pad.
• air lter missing from cup face.
Correct any faults before using the cup (see Service).
Storage
Store the cup in clean, dry condition within its protective carrying case.
WARNINGS
Failure to observe WARNINGS could damage the hand cup or the load, or
cause injury to the user.
• Do not use the cup to lift loads that exceed the Maximum Load Capacity or
the e󰀨ective capacity (see SPECIFICATIONS).
• Do not use the cup to support a person.
• Do not place the cup face against surfaces which could damage the sealing
edges.
• Avoid conditions that could cause the cup to slip or to disengage
prematurely, such as: contaminants, cuts or scratches in the cup face or
contact surface; applying the cup to porous materials; or applying pressure
against the cup edge.
• Do not use the cup to lift when the red line is visible. If the red line
reappears frequently, discontinue use and see Service.
• Do not allow anything to interfere with free movement of the plunger while
the cup is attached.
• Do not touch the release tabs (on 6" [15 cm] cups) or the valve release
lever (on other cups) while lifting.
• Do not attach 10" [25 cm] diameter cups to thin, fragile materials.
• Do not use harsh chemicals (such as solvents or gasoline) or unauthorized
rubber cleaners and conditioners to clean the cup.

Descripción de los productos
Las ventosas de mano utilizan el vacío para levantar y llevar las cargas, como
se indica a continuación: Una bomba manual extrae el aire de entre el disco de
goma y la supercie de contacto; una línea roja en el émbolo de la bomba sirve
como indicador de vacío; una válvula de retención permite que el usuario vuelva
a bombear la ventosa sin quitarla de la supercie de contacto; y un mecanismo
de desprendimiento permite que la ventosa se desprenda por completo.
*La Máxima capacidad de carga incluye un factor de seguridad de 3:1 y requiere
lo siguiente: la adherencia en las supercies que son planas, limpias, lisas y
no porosas; un mínimo nivel de vacío de 17½" Hg [-59 kPa]; y un coeciente
de fricción de 1. Este cálculo se basa en las pruebas de las ventosas de mano

Condiciones de la carga y Condiciones ambientales
Use la ventosa en las supercies limpias, relativamente lisas y no porosas,
en las temperaturas desde 10° hasta 120° Fahrenheit [desde -12° hasta 49°
Celsius]. Los líquidos o los contaminantes pueden reducir la resistencia de la
ventosa contra deslizarse. Es posible que el indicador con línea roja no funcione
ablemente en las elevaciones arriba de 5000 pies [1524 metros]; véase Servicio.
FUNCIONAMIENTO
Adherir
1) Ponga la ventosa de mano en la supercie de contacto de manera que la línea
roja sea visible si aparece mientras que usted levanta la carga.
PRECAUCIÓN: Pruebe la ventosa en las supercies de colores claros o de
revestimientos delicados, para asegurarse de que no cause ni manchas ni
deformidades de la carga.
2) Bombee el émbolo hasta que la ventosa se adhiere por completo. Cuando la
línea roja está escondida, el vacío es suciente para levantar.
3) A menudo revise el émbolo para asegurarse que la ventosa permanezca
totalmente adherida. Si la línea roja aparece mientras que se usa la ventosa
para levantar, ponga la carga en tierra inmediatamente y bombee el émbolo
hasta que la línea roja está escondida de nuevo (véase ADVERTENCIAS).
Desprender
1) Ponga la carga sobre un soporte seguro.
2) Tire de una de las pestañas de desprendimiento (para ventosas de 6" [15 cm])
u oprima la palanca de desprendimiento (para otras ventosas) hasta que
la ventosa se desprende por completo. PRECAUCIÓN: Quite la ventosa
cuando no está en uso.
MANTENIMIENTO
Servicio
Ya que el envejecimiento y el uso reducen la capacidad del disco de goma, se debe
reemplazarlo al menos una vez cada dos años o siempre que se descubran los
daños (véase Inspección).
Si la ventosa de mano no funciona normalmente, es posible que la cara de la ventosa
esté sucia o que la ventosa requiera del servicio. Primero, limpie la cara de la ventosa
de acuerdo con las instrucciones a continuación. Si el problema continúa, contacte
a un distribuidor autorizado o visite www.WPG.com para obtener la asistencia.
Limpieza
1) Retire el ltro de aire de la cara de la ventosa.
2) Utilice una esponja limpia o un trapo limpio y sin pelusa para aplicar agua
jabonosa u otro limpiador suave a la cara de la ventosa. Véase
ADVERTENCIAS y www.WPG.com para obtener más información.
PRECAUCIÓN: Para evitar que los líquidos contaminen la bomba, mantenga
la ventosa con la cara hacia abajo o cubra el agujero de succión en el hueco
para el ltro.
3) Utilice la esponja o el trapo para limpiar todo residuo de la cara de la ventosa.
4) Deje que la ventosa se seque y vuelva a instalar el ltro de aire.
Inspección
Examine y ponga a prueba la ventosa regularmente para asegurarse que no muestre
ninguno de los problemas siguientes:
• cortes o daños en los bordes selladores del disco de goma.
• grietas o abolladuras en el mango o en la bomba.
• reaparición de la línea roja poco después de que la ventosa se adhiere.
• la acción de la bomba parece lenta o presenta cambios dramáticos.
• revestimiento duro o dureza en el disco de goma.
• falta el ltro de aire en la cara de la ventosa.
Corrija cualquier problema antes de utilizar la ventosa (véase Servicio).
Almacenamiento
Almacene la ventosa limpia y seca dentro del estuche llevador de protección.
ADVERTENCIAS
No observar las ADVERTENCIAS puede dañar la ventosa de mano o la carga o
causar las lesiones al usuario.
• No use la ventosa para levantar las cargas que excedan la Máxima capacidad
de carga o la capacidad efectiva (véase CARACTERÍSTICAS TÉCNICAS).
• No use la ventosa para soportar una persona.
• No ponga la cara de la ventosa contra supercies que podrían dañar los
bordes selladores.
• Evite las circunstancias que podrían ocasionar que la ventosa resbale o se
desprenda prematuramente, tales como: contaminantes, cortes o rayas en la
cara de la ventosa o en la supercie de contacto; aplicar la ventosa a los
materiales porosos; o aplicar la presión contra la orilla de la ventosa.
• No use la ventosa para levantar cuando la línea roja es visible. Si la línea roja
vuelve a aparecer frecuentemente, deje de usar la ventosa y véase Servicio.
• No permita que nada interera con el movimiento libre del émbolo mientras se
está adhiriendo la ventosa.
• No toque las pestañas de desprendimiento (de ventosas de 6" [15 cm]) o la
palanca de desprendimiento (de otras ventosas) mientras se usa la ventosa
para levantar.
• No adhiera las ventosas con diámetro de 10" [25 cm] a los materiales
delgados y frágiles.
• No utilice los productos químicos agresivos (tales como solventes o gasolina)
ni los limpiadores y suavizantes de goma no autorizados para limpiar la
ventosa.

Description des produits
Les ventouses à main utilisent du vide pour soulever et transporter des charges,
de la manière suivante : une pompe manuelle extrait de l’air d’entre le disque en
caoutchouc et la surface de contact ; une ligne rouge sur le piston de la pompe sert
d’un indicateur de vide ; une soupape de retenue permet que l’utilisateur pompe la
ventouse de nouveau sans l'enlever de la surface de contact ; et un mécanisme de
dégagement permet que la ventouse se détache complètement.
*La Capacité de charge maximale comprend un coe󰀩cient de sécurité de 3:1 et
nécessite les conditions suivantes : une adhérence sur des surfaces qui sont plates,
nettes, lisses et non poreuses ; un niveau de vide minimal de 17½ po Hg [-59 kPa] ;
et un coe󰀩cient de friction de 1. Ce calcul est basé sur des épreuves des ventouses
à main nouvelles qui sont attachées sur la surface horizontale supérieure des objets
statiques dans des conditions idéales. Beaucoup de facteurs peuvent réduire la
capacité, tels que : l'action de soulever une charge quand la ventouse est attachée
sur une surface verticale ou inclinée; ou l'action de soulever une charge qui exerce

Conditions de la charge et de l'environnement
Utilisez la ventouse sur des surfaces nettes, relativement lisses et non poreuses,
à des températures de 10° à 120° Fahrenheit [-12° à 49° Celsius]. Des liquides ou
des impuretés peuvent réduire la résistance de la ventouse contre glisser. Il est
possible que l’indicateur à la ligne rouge ne fonctionne pas de façon able à des
altitudes qui dépassent 5000 pieds [1524 mètres] ; voyez Révision.
MODE D'EMPLOI
Attacher
1) Disposez la ventouse à main sur la surface de contact an que la ligne rouge
soit visible si elle apparaît pendant que vous soulevez la charge. ATTENTION :
essayez la ventouse sur des surfaces de charge avec des couleurs claires ou
des revêtements mous, pour vous assurer qu’elle ne fasse pas des taches ou des
di󰀨ormités.
2) Pompez le piston jusqu'à ce que la ventouse soit complètement attachée. Quand
la ligne rouge est cachée, le vide est su󰀩sant pour soulever.
3) Examinez le piston fréquemment pour vérier que la ventouse demeure
solidement attachée. Si la ligne rouge apparaît pendant que vous soulevez,
déposez la charge par terre immédiatement et pompez le piston jusqu’à ce que la
ligne rouge soit cachée de nouveau (voyez AVERTISSEMENTS).
Dégager
1) Posez la charge sur un support solide.
2) Tirez sur une des pattes de dégagement (des ventouses de 6 po [15 cm]) ou
appuyez sur le levier de dégagement (des autres ventouses) jusqu'à ce que la
ventouse se détache complètement. ATTENTION : enlevez la ventouse quand
elle n'est pas employée.
ENTRETIEN
Révision
Puisque le vieillissement et l'usure réduisent la capacité du disque en caoutchouc,
on doit le remplacer au moins tous les 2 ans ou à n'importe quel moment qu'on
trouve des dommages (voyez Inspection).
Si la ventouse à main ne fonctionne pas normalement, il se peut que la face de la
ventouse soit salie ou que la ventouse demande de la révision. Pour commencer,
nettoyez la face de la ventouse d’après les directives ci-dessous. Si le problème
persiste, mettez-vous en contact avec un distributeur autorisé ou visitez
www.WPG.com pour obtenir de l'assistance.
Nettoyage
1) Extrayez le ltre à air de la face de la ventouse.
2) Utilisez une éponge nette ou un chi󰀨on net et peluche-libre pour appliquer
de l'eau savonneuse ou un autre produit de nettoyage doux sur la face de la
ventouse ; voyez les AVERTISSEMENTS et www.WPG.com pour obtenir des
renseignements supplémentaires. ATTENTION : pour empêcher que du liquide
contamine la pompe, tenez en dessous la face de la ventouse ou couvrez le trou
de succion dans la cavité de ltre.
3) Essuyez tout résidu de la face de la ventouse.
4) Permettez que la ventouse se sèche et remettez le ltre à air en place.
Inspection
Examinez et testez la ventouse régulièrement pour vérier qu’elle n’ait pas les
problèmes suivants :
• des coupes ou des dégâts aux bords d’étanchéité qui font partie du disque en
caoutchouc.
• des fentes ou des bosses dans la poignée ou dans la pompe.
• le ligne rouge apparaît de nouveau peu après d’attacher la ventouse.
• l’action de la pompe montre une lenteur ou des changements dramatiques.
• une dureté extérieur excessive ou une raideur du disque en caoutchouc.
• la face de la ventouse manque le ltre à air.
Rectiez tout problème avant d’employer la ventouse (voyez Révision).
Emmagasinage
Emmagasinez la ventouse nette et sèche dans son boîtier protecteur de transport.
AVERTISSEMENTS
Si on néglige de se conformer aux AVERTISSEMENTS, il est possible que cela
abîme la ventouse ou la charge, ou occasionne des blessures à l’utilisateur.
• N'utilisez pas la ventouse pour soulever des charges qui dépassent la Capacité
de charge maximale ou la capacité e󰀨ective (voyez CARACTÉRISTIQUES
TECHNIQUES).
• N'utilisez pas la ventouse pour supporter des personnes.
• Ne placez pas la face de la ventouse contre des surfaces qui peuvent abîmer les
bords d’étanchéité.
• Évitez toutes les conditions qui peuvent faire que la ventouse glisse ou se
détache prématurément, telles que : des impuretés, des coupes ou des rayures
en la face de la ventouse ou en la surface de contact ; l'action d'attacher la
ventouse à des matériaux poreux ; ou l'action d'exercer de la pression contre le
bord de la ventouse.
• N'utilisez pas la ventouse pour soulever quand la ligne rouge est visible. Si
la ligne rouge réapparaît fréquemment, cessez d'utiliser la ventouse et voyez
Révision.
• Ne permettez pas qu’aucune chose empêche le mouvement libre du piston
pendant que la ventouse est attachée.
• Ne bougez pas les pattes de dégagement (des ventouses de 6 po [15 cm]) ou
le levier de dégagement (des autres ventouses) pendant que vous soulevez.
• N’attachez pas les ventouses du diamètre de 10 po [25 cm] aux matériaux
minces et fragiles.
• N’utilisez ni des chimiques caustiques (tels que les dissolvants ou l’essence) ni
des produits non autorisés pour nettoyer ou assouplir le caoutchouc de la
ventouse.

Produktbeschreibung
Handsauger nutzen Vakuum, um Lasten zu heben und zu tragen, wie folgt:
Durch eine manuelle Pumpe wird die Luft zwischen dem Gummisaugerteller und
der Kontaktoberäche entfernt. Ein roter Warnring am Pumpenkolben dient als
Vakuumanzeiger. Durch ein Rückschlagventil kann der Bediener nachpumpen
ohne den Sauger von der Kontaktoberäche zu entfernen. Durch einen
Lösemechanismus kann der Sauger vollständig gelöst werden.
*Die maximale Tragkraft schließt einen Sicherheitsfaktor von 3:1 ein und benötigt
folgende Bedingungen: Ansaugen auf sauberen, glatten, nicht porösen, achen
Oberächen; ein minimales Vakuumniveau von 17½" Hg [-59 kPa]; und ein
Reibungskoe󰀩zient von 1. Diese Berechnung basiert auf Tests unter idealen
Umständen mit neuen Handsaugern, die an der nach oben gerichteten, horizontalen
Oberäche unbeweglicher Gegenstände angesaugt sind. Viele Faktoren können
die Tragfähigkeit beeinträchtigen, wie z.B.: Heben einer Last wenn der Sauger an
einer vertikalen oder schiefen Oberäche angesaugt ist; oder Heben einer Last, die
eine Hebelwirkung an dem Sauger aufbietet. Für zusätzliche Informationen siehe

Lastmerkmale und empfohlene Gebrauchsbedingungen
Benutzen Sie den Sauger auf sauberen, relativ glatten, nicht porösen Oberächen;
bei Temperaturen von 10° bis 120° Fahrenheit [-12° bis +49° Celsius]. Feuchtigkeit
oder Verunreinigungen können die Rutschfestigkeit des Saugers beeinträchtigen.
Zuverlässige Funktion des roten Warnring-Anzeigers kann über Höhen von 5000
Fuß [1524 m] beeinträchtigt sein; beachten Sie die Instandhaltungshinweise.
BEDIENUNG
Ansaugen
1) Positionieren Sie den Handsauger auf der Kontaktoberäche der Last so, dass
der rote Warnring für Sie sichtbar wird, falls er während des Hebens erscheint.
VORSICHT: Prüfen Sie den Einsatz des Saugers auf hellen Lastoberächen oder
Lastoberächen mit weichem Belag auf Verfärbung oder Verformung.
2) Drücken Sie den Pumpenkolben mehrfach, bis der Sauger vollständig angesaugt
hat. Wenn der rote Warnring nicht mehr sichtbar ist, ist ein ausreichendes
Vakuum zum Anheben der Last erreicht.
3) Kontrollieren Sie den Pumpenkolben oft, um sicher zu sein, dass der Sauger fest
angesaugt ist. Wenn der rote Warnring während des Hebens sichtbar wird,
setzen Sie die Last sofort ab und betätigen Sie den Kolben wieder, bis der rote
Warnring nicht mehr sichtbar ist (siehe WARNUNGEN).
Lösen
1) Legen oder stellen Sie die Last auf eine sichere Stütze.
2) Ziehen Sie an einem der Löselaschen (bei 6" [15 cm] Saugern) oder halten Sie
den Ventil-Lösehebel gedrückt (bei anderen Saugern), bis der Sauger vollständig
gelöst ist. VORSICHT: Entfernen Sie den Sauger, wenn dieser nicht benutzt wird.
WARTUNG
Instandhaltung
Da die Tragfähigkeit des Gummisaugertellers durch Alterung und Abnutzung
beeinträchtigt wird, ersetzen Sie ihn mindestens zweijährlich oder immer, wenn eine
Beschädigung gefunden wird (siehe Kontrolle).
Wenn der Handsauger nicht ordnungsgemäß arbeitet, ist es möglich, dass die
Saugeroberäche verschmutzt ist oder der Sauger gewartet werden muss.
Reinigen Sie zunächst die Saugeroberäche gemäß den nachfolgenden Hinweisen.
Wenn das Problem nicht behoben ist, setzen Sie sich mit einem autorisierten
Händler in Verbindung oder gehen Sie zu www.WPG.com, um Hilfe zu erhalten.
Reinigung
1) Entfernen Sie den Luftlter aus der Saugeroberäche.
2) Benutzen Sie einen sauberen Schwamm oder ein fusselfreies Tuch, um damit
Seifenwasser oder ein anderes mildes Reinigungsmittel auf der Saugeroberäche
aufzutragen. Für zusätzliche Informationen siehe WARNUNGEN und
www.WPG.com. VORSICHT: Um zu vermeiden, dass Flüssigkeit die Pumpe
verunreinigt, muss die Saugeroberäche nach unten zeigen oder die
Saugö󰀨nung in der Einbuchtung für den Filter abgedeckt werden.
3) Wischen Sie alle Rückstände von der Saugeroberäche.
4) Lassen Sie den Sauger trocknen und setzen Sie den Luftlter wieder ein.
Kontrolle
Prüfen und testen Sie den Sauger regelmäßig, um sicherzustellen, dass er keine
der folgenden Schäden aufweist:
• Einschnitte oder sonstige Beschädigungen an den Verschlusskanten des
Gummisaugertellers
• Risse oder Beulen an dem Handgri󰀨 oder der Pumpe
• roter Warnring wird kurz nach dem Ansaugen wieder sichtbar
• Trägheit oder sonstige erhebliche Veränderungen während der Pumpaktion
• übermäßiger Belag am Gummisaugerteller oder ungewöhnliche Steifheit des
Gummisaugertellers
• fehlender Luftlter an der Saugeroberäche
Beheben Sie alle Fehler vor dem Gebrauch des Saugers (siehe Instandhaltung).
Lagerung
Lagern Sie den Sauger in sauberem und trockenem Zustand im schützenden
Trageko󰀨er.
WARNUNGEN
Nichtbeachtung der WARNUNGEN könnte den Handsauger oder die Last
beschädigen, oder Verletzungen des Bedieners hervorrufen.
• Benutzen Sie den Sauger nicht, um Lasten zu anheben, welche die maximale
Tragkraft oder die e󰀨ektive Tragfähigkeit des Saugers überschreiten (siehe
TECHNISCHE DATEN).
• Benutzen Sie den Sauger nicht, um Personen abzustützen.
• Platzieren Sie die Saugeroberäche nicht auf Oberächen, die die
Verschlusskanten beschädigen könnten.
• Vermeiden Sie Zustände, die ein Abgleiten oder ein frühzeitiges Lösen des
Saugers hervorrufen könnten, wie z.B.: Verunreinigungen, Risse oder Kratzer
auf der Sauger- oder Kontaktoberäche, Ansaugen des Saugers auf porösen
Materialien oder Druckeinwirkung auf die Ränder des Saugers.
• Benutzen Sie den Sauger nicht zum Anheben, wenn der rote Warnring sichtbar
ist. Wenn der rote Warnring häug wieder sichtbar wird, unterbrechen Sie den
Gebrauch des Saugers und beachten Sie die Instandhaltungshinweise.
• Lassen Sie nicht zu, dass etwas die freie Beweglichkeit des Pumpenkolbens
behindert, während der Sauger angesaugt ist.
• Berühren Sie die Löselaschen (bei 6" [15 cm] Saugern) oder den Ventil-
Lösehebel (bei anderen Saugern) nicht während des Hebens.
• Saugen Sie die Sauger von 10" [25 cm] Durchmesser nicht auf dünne,
zerbrechliche Materialien an.
• Benutzen Sie keine aggressiven Chemikalien (wie z.B. Lösungsmittel oder
Benzin) und keine nicht autorisierten Gummi-Reinigungsmittel oder
-Weichmacher, um den Sauger zu reinigen.

General Maintenance
For maximum reliability, INSPECT THE HAND CUP REGULARLY: Make sure the air lter is
in place; if not, discontinue use until the lter is replaced. Examine the plunger and handle for
cracks or other damage. Examine the face of the vacuum pad for excessive glaze (a polished,
glossy appearance) and for cuts or roughness on the sealing edges. Periodically test the cup
for excessive leakage, sluggishness in plunger action or radical changes in the number of
strokes needed to keep the red line hidden. If the cup does not function normally, review the
Troubleshooting Guide (overleaf) to determine what corrective action is needed.
To CLEAN THE VACUUM PAD, remove the air lter from the pad face. Use a clean sponge
or lint-free cloth to apply soapy water or another mild cleanser to the cup face. Never use
solvents or rubber conditioners as a cleaning agent (see WARNINGS). To prevent liquid
from contaminating the pump during cleaning, hold the cup face-down or cover the suction
inlet in the lter recess. For 8" [20 cm] pads, be careful not to dampen the felt strip at the pad’s
edge. Wipe all residue from the pad face and allow the cup to dry. Then reinstall the air lter.
Inspecting and Testing the Cup for Leakage
To INSPECT THE SEALING EDGES of the vacuum pad for roughness or foreign material, slowly
draw your nger along the entire length of the sealing edges. Examine the sealing edges for
cuts by bending the edge of the pad face towards you to create a hump, turning the hand cup
as necessary. If cuts or cracks are present in a sealing edge, a V-shaped gap will appear. Any
pad that exhibits a gap or excessive roughness in a sealing edge must be replaced.
To LEAK-TEST THE HAND CUP, attach it to a clean, smooth, scratch-free piece of glass or
metal for approximately 2 hours. The red line on the plunger serves as a vacuum indicator:
If the red line does not appear during the test period, the cup is usable; if the red line does
appear, perform general maintenance and repeat the test. If the problem persists, check the
Troubleshooting Guide (overleaf) to identify possible causes and appropriate corrective actions.
If these measures do not restore the cup to normal performance, contact the Wood’s Powr-Grip
Customer Service department or an authorized dealer for assistance.

Disassembly Procedures
Remove Plunger Assembly from Handle
Grasp the head of the plunger assembly and pull it straight out from the handle.
Be careful to keep the plunger assembly clean and free from contaminants. It
is advisable to cover the plunger assembly with a clean, lint-free towel when
it is not in the handle.
Remove Handle from Vacuum Pad
Remove the 6 handle screws, and separate the handle from the pad. Carefully
remove the valve stem from the rubber nipple on the pad by gently pulling on
the handle and twisting it back and forth.
Remove Retainer and Check Valve from Handle
Being careful not to scratch the inside of the handle, remove the retainer and
check valve using a hooked scribe or similar tool. With a soft, lint-free cloth,
carefully clean these parts, as well as the plunger assembly, paying particular
attention to the U-cup and button. Wrap a small dowel or rod with a soft, lint-
free cloth and gently wipe the inside of the handle, to make sure it is clean
and dry (lubricant-free).
Assembly Procedures
Inspect Handle and Reinstall Check Valve and Retainer
Carefully examine the inside of the handle for scratches and contaminants,
using a ashlight for illumination. Scratches between the mid-point and the
closed end of the handle can cause leakage. Scratches near the open end
of the handle rarely present a problem. Make sure that no lubricant remains
inside the handle. Drop the check valve inside the handle so that it lays at
against the closed end. Using a dowel or other tool that will not scratch the
sides of the handle, push the retainer all the way into the handle to hold the
check valve securely in place.
Attach Handle to Vacuum Pad
Apply a light coating of plunger lube to the valve stem of the handle, and insert
the valve stem into the pad nipple. Place the handle on the pad so its nipple
ts through the large hole in the base plate near the closed end of the handle.
Align the screw holes and reinstall the handle screws.
Reinsert Plunger Assembly into Handle
Apply lubricant all the way around the exposed surface of the U-cup, while
being careful to keep lubricant o󰀨 the button. Plunger lube is recommended and
available in appropriate quantities by contacting Wood’s Powr-Grip Customer
Service. Do not use improper lubricants in the handle.
While making certain the button, check valve and retainer remain free of
lubricant, insert the U-cup end of the plunger assembly into the handle. Push
the plunger assembly until it begins to tighten; then seat the plunger assembly
with one strong, swift motion. Operate the plunger to spread the lubricant,
thoroughly coating the outside of the U-cup by twisting the plunger as it moves.
Now the cup is assembled and ready for testing.

WARNINGS
Wood’s Powr-Grip has taken great care to produce the most reliable vacuum-operated
handling device available. Nevertheless, mistreatment or misuse may damage a hand
cup or otherwise create conditions which could cause the hand cup to fail, resulting
in an unexpected release. The following warnings are o󰀨ered to help users avoid most
potential hazards.
Failure to observe WARNINGS could damage
the cup or the load, or cause injury to the user.
• Do not use the cup with loads that exceed the load capacity.
• Do not use the cup to support a person.
• Do not place the pad face against surfaces which could damage the sealing edges.
• Avoid conditions that could cause the cup to slip or to disengage prematurely, such as:
contaminants, cuts or scratches in the pad face or load surface; applying the cup to
porous materials; or applying pressure against the pad edge.
• Do not use the cup to lift when the red line is visible. If the red line reappears frequently,
discontinue use and follow the instructions for general maintenance and testing.
• Do not allow anything to interfere with free movement of the plunger while the cup is
attached. This could prevent the red line from warning the user of vacuum loss.
• Do not touch the valve release lever while lifting.
• Do not attach 10" [25 cm] diameter cups (models N6000 and N6000NBP) to thin,
fragile materials.
• Do not use harsh chemicals (such as solvents or gasoline) or unauthorized rubber
cleaners and conditioners to clean the cup. See www.WPG.com for more information.
