1.5 Installing
WARNING
DANGER TO LIFE FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR FIRE!
• Switch off the power to the entire plant before installing. Otherwise a mains voltage and/or exter-
nal voltage may still be present even if the control voltage is switched off.
The device is intended for top-hat rail installation and is suitable for operation in fuse boxes and dis-
tribution cabinets. The devices can be positioned immediately adjacent to one another without gaps.
Fig. 3: Dimensions
The entire plant must be free of voltage.
1. Use the cross-tip screwdriver to loosen the fastening screws on both sides of the device.
2. Place the device with the leading edge at an acute angle to the top-hat rail.

1.6 Power supply connection (screw terminals)
The power supply to the CMD300 is at 230V~, +10% / -15%, 9 VA approx. on terminals 48, 49.
WARNING
DANGER TO LIFE FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR FIRE!
• Connect the protective earth (PE) to an earthing terminal using a short cable (at least 1.5mm2).
Place the earthing terminal on the CMD300 on the top-hat rail. The earthing is required in order
to guarantee failure-free and safe operation.
• Power must be supplied through a power circuit protected by a 6A max. circuit breaker which is
easily accessible.
NOTICE
• So that faults can still be transmitted when the main switch is off (e.g. for an emergency stop), we
recommend having an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) for the CMD300 and the modem, which
is independent of the entire system and separate from the sub-distribution box.
