INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT!
Did you know?
• Your scale works as a body analysis monitor even without the app – you
do not need a smart device to check your weight, body fat, body water,
bone mass, muscle mass or BMI!
• But you will need a smart device to set goals and track your progress
that are only available on the app.
• If you use other health and tness apps, and would like them to receive
data from your scale, the app will sync data to the Health app (Apple®)
and to the Google Fit®app (Android) and allow your favourite apps to
pull your data from there.
• If you travel without your scale, you can monitor your weight on any other
scale and enter it manually into the app.

measurements and you will get an error reading.
After a few seconds, the LCD will show your body weight, body fat
percentage, body water percentage, BMI, bone mass and muscle mass
percentage for several seconds, and then turn off automatically.
Pic.05
If you get an error reading, make sure you are stepping on the scale in bare
feet (no stockings or pantyhose). If you still get an error reading, your skin
may be too dry: Try rubbing a bit of lotion on the soles of your feet and
make sure not to slip on the platform of the scale.
NOTE: Your scale will also read error if your weight is below or above the
specications for the scale. Low battery warning: When the batteries are
critically low, the scale display will show “LO” and it is time to replace the
batteries (see battery replacement instructions).
NOTE: If you step on the scale before “0:0,0” appears or if your feet are
not aligned on the electrode area, the scale will not function properly.

15
TROUBLESHOOTING AND TIPS
I tap my scale but the display does not light up.
Make sure that you have pulled the battery isolator tab out of the battery
compartment on the bottom of the scale. If you have pulled the tab and the
display still does not light up, open the battery compartment: use a small
Philips screwdriver to loosen the screw, open the battery door and check
whether all parts of the tab have been removed. Ensure that the batteries
are inserted with correct polarity (see instructions moulded into the battery
compartment). Then close the battery door and tighten the screw again.
My app does not connect to my scale.
Your smartphone or tablet device and the scale communicate via
Bluetooth®connection. Make sure that your mobile device has Bluetooth®
turned on, or the app will not be able to get data from the scale. In order
to turn on Bluetooth®, go to your mobile device settings and slide the
Bluetooth®button to “on”. You can do this before you open the app. If
you forget, the app will remind you during the set-up or the connection
process. (After you change the setting, click on the app again and the app
will bring you back to the screen on which you were before.)
The scale has to be on (display lit up) in order to connect. Firmly tap the
scale with your foot to turn it on. With the app open, press CONNECT TO
SCALE. Once the scale display is lit, the LCD display will show a blinking
Bluetooth®icon to show that it is attempting to communicate with the
app. At the same time, the app shows a Bluetooth®symbol surrounded by
blinking dots while trying to connect. If your mobile device and the scale
fail to connect, simply let the scale display go off and then try again
(make sure you tap the “connect to scale” button on the app).
Once the app and the scale have connected, you will see a stable
Bluetooth®symbol on the scale. Stand still while the scale takes your
measurements and then displays them in the app.
Make sure to remove your socks to get a reading!

16
NOTE – You do not need to manually connect the scales Bluetooth®
in your smartphone or tablet device’s Bluetooth®settings. The scale
should connect automatically to your device if your Bluetooth®is
turned on.
Some users may have an issue with the Bluetooth®connectivity. A common
remedy is to clear the Bluetooth®cache on the device. To do this:
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Apps
3. Hit 3 dots menu > Show System
4. Go to Bluetooth®Share
5. Tap Storage
6. Clear Data and Clear Cache
7. Bluetooth®connectivity should be better now. Note that this will clear
data of all devices the phone has previously paired with
Transmitting data to an Android phone or tablet
Before using the WW Scales by Conair®app with an Android device,
always ensure that your location services are switched to ‘on’, as the
Bluetooth®antenna relies on the GPS antenna to be on. If your location
services are switched off, you may have an issue connecting your device
and scale via Bluetooth®.
The app is telling me to turn Bluetooth®on.
Your mobile device and the scale communicate via Bluetooth®connection.
Make sure that your mobile device has Bluetooth®turned on, or the app
will not be able to get data from the scale. In order to turn on Bluetooth®,
go to your mobile device settings and slide the Bluetooth®button to “on”.
You can do this before you open the app. If you forget, the app will remind
you during the set-up or the connection process. (After you change the
setting, click on the app again and the app will bring you back to the
screen on which you were before.) If you are using an Android phone - you
may need to turn on your location too - as this is how bluetooth nds the
phone.

17
My scale only displays weight but no body fat, body water, etc and
other analysis results
Make sure that your feet are evenly aligned on the glass platform. The scale
electrode plate has to make contact with your bare feet in order to get the
readings. Do not wear socks or tights. If you step on the scale with bare
feet and the scale still does not read your body analysis measurements,
rub a little water or lotion into the soles of your feet – but be careful not to
slip on the glass surface of the scale.
Not all my measurements are showing up on the dashboard.
If you are using more than one mobile device, for instance, an iPad and an
iPhone, to communicate with your scale, your data will be stored in two
different places: the measurements you took with your iPad will show on
the dashboard of the app on your iPad and the measurements you took
with your iPhone will show on the dashboard of the app on your iPhone.
For data security and privacy reasons, we do not currently allow the data
from the scale to be stored anywhere but on the device which you use to
access the scale (with a few exceptions: if you consent to have your data
transferred to the Apple®Health or to Google Fit®, the data may be stored
by those entities and is subject to their respective privacy policies.)
If you travel without your scale, you can monitor your weight and body
analysis results on any other scale and then manually add the data into
the app.
What do the units of weight measurement mean on the scale?
The digits of the scale have been abbreviated
to allow for accuracy up to 50g.
The scales nal digit goes from 1-9, but this
number is a fraction of a whole pound (16
ounces).
As an example take the weight 10.8.4
- this is 10st 8lb 6.4 ounces - we have
abbreviated this as 0.4 of a pound (16÷ 0.4
= 6.4 ounces).
.1 = 1.6 ounces
.2 = 3.2 ounces
.3 = 4.8 ounces
.4 = 6.4 ounces
.5 = 8 ounces - (1/2 pound)
.6 = 9.6 ounces
.7 = 11.2 ounces
.8 = 12.8 ounces
.9 = 14.4 ounces.

18
TIPS
• If you need to add your weight manually (if you’re away from home) press
the + button on the top right hand corner of the app.
• Once your weight has been displayed on the dashboard you can change
the units of measurement through MY ACCOUNT, SETTINGS then
UNITS.
PAIRING
There are several different pairing options:
• One scale can pair with several mobile devices. For instance, a husband,
a wife and their teenage daughter can each have their own mobile device
and pair it to the same scale.
• The same person can pair several mobile devices to the scale. For
instance, the teenage daughter may pair both her iPad and her iPhone
to the same scale.
• The same mobile device can be used to pair to more than one scale. For
instance, you can pair to one WW’s scale in the downstairs bathroom
and to a different WW’s scale in the upstairs bathroom from the same
phone.
• You can’t have multiple users on one device with this scale.
RESETTING THE SCALE
If you wish to erase all user data, you can reset the scale: the reset button
is on the bottom of the scale. Insert a wire or paper clip into the hole
and push down (similar to a computer rest). The scale display will show
“Clr”. This will restore the factory settings and erase all user
information. If you delete the app from your phone all data
will be lost.
CONNECTING APP AND SCALE
Your smartphone or tablet device and the scale communicate via
Bluetooth®connection. Make sure that your mobile device has Bluetooth®
turned on, or the app will not be able to get data from the scale. In order

19
to turn on Bluetooth®, go to your mobile device settings and slide the
Bluetooth®button to “on”.
If your mobile device and the scale
fail to connect, simply let the scale display go off and then try again (make
sure you tap the “connect to scale” button on the app).
Once the app and the scale connect, you will see a stable Bluetooth®
symbol on the scale, along with a check mark, and the app will show a
Bluetooth®symbol and check mark on the bottom of the page as well.
Now you can step on the scale! Stand still while the scale takes your
measurements and then displays them in the app.
NOTE – PLEASE ENSURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE APP FIRST. THEN
USE THE WW SCALE APP TO USE YOUR SCALE - DO NOT TRY TO
GO INTO YOUR BLUETOOTH®SETTINGS AND CONNECT TO THE
SCALE.
The scale should connect automatically to the Bluetooth®of the scale
to your device if your Bluetooth®is turned on. But you still need
to press CONNECT TO SCALE on your device to get the readings
transmitted.

Weight and Body Fat
What is body fat percentage?
Body fat percentage is the weight of body fat divided by total body weight
and multiplied by 100 – for example: 36kg fat / 90kg total body weight x 100
= 40% body fat.
How does the scale calculate body fat percentage?
Body fat is calculated using a method called Bioelectrical Impedance
Analysis (BIA). A very weak electric current is passed through the body
to measure the impedance (resistance) to lean body mass and fat mass.
This current passes more quickly through lean body mass (due to its water
content) than it does through fat mass (which does not contain water). The
scale uses a mathematical formula to calculate body fat percentage from
the speed of the electric current passing through the body.
Is the scale accurate?
The scale does not have the same level of accuracy found in body analysis
equipment used in scientic laboratories and some clinical settings. It is
designed to be a practical and reliable tool for monitoring body composition
as a guide only.
It is important to note that a number of factors affect body water
measurements regardless of the sophistication of equipment used.
Body water uctuates a lot more than body fat does (see below and ‘Using
the scale for tracking progress’). Being under-hydrated (e.g. immediately
after exercise) will give you a higher fat percentage reading than when you
are fully hydrated.
It is therefore advisable to check your body fat percentage under similar
circumstances on each occasion e.g. rst thing in the morning after passing
urine and before eating or drinking anything.
A range of circumstances can alter (increase or decrease) body water
content:
• Eating and drinking (including alcohol)
• Stage of the menstrual cycle
• A sauna, hot bath or shower
• Intense exercise
• Fever
• Extreme environments (hot or cold)
