CAUTION:Whendisconnectingacable,pullonitsconnectororonitspull‐tab,noton
the cable itself. As pulling connectors apart, keep them evenlyalignedtoavoid
bending any connector pins. Also, before connecting a cable, ensure that both
connectorsarecorrectlyorientedandaligned.

It is recommended to connect the grounding screw to a clean/instrument ground
bus.

GETTING STARTED
Initialconfiguration
1.Makesuretheboxincludeallcontentsmentioned.
2. Connect PEGASUS to its power supply. It is recommended to connect the
groundingscrewtoaclean/instrumentgroundbus.
3.ConnectamonitortoPEGASUSHDMIOutput,monitornotincluded.
4.ConnectKeyboardandMousetoPEGASUSusingtheavailableUSB2.0ports.
5.PowerupPEGASUS.
6.Loginscreenwillbedisplayed,“WYLMAN”isthedefaultpassword.
7.AfterPEGASUSboots,loginasadministrator,“WYLMAN”isthedefaultpassword.

onlineatwww.wylman.com
NOTE: Allpasswordsinthesystemaresetto“WYLMAN”asdefault.Itis
stronglyrecommendedtochangethepasswordsonthefirstuseand
frequently.
NOTE:Ifwirelessconnectionisrequired,connecttheWi‐Fiadapterincludedto
PEGASUSusingoneoftheavailableUSB2.0ports.
NOTE: If communication redundancy is required, connect the USB Ethernet
adapterincludedand/orWi‐FiadapterincludedtotheavailableUSB2.0ports.
NOTE: Default passwords can be restored in case administrator password is
lost.Pleasecontactsupport@wylman.comforassistancewithpasswordsreset.
NOTE:IfauthenticationbetweenPEGASUSandTargetmachineusingPEGASUS
Shield fails, this may be due to unsynchronized time, please make sure that
PEGASUSsystemtimeandTargetmachinetimearesynchronized.
NOTE:IfahardwarechangewasdonetotheTargetmachineorassigninganew
Target machine, PEGASUS Shield must be reconfigured. Please contact
[email protected]forassistance.
NOTE: Before Launching PEGASUS Shield software, make sure PEGASUS is
connected to Target machine using the provided USB cable, otherwise
PEGASUSShieldwillnotwork.

STARTING A SESSION
InstructionsbelowexplaintheneededconnectionstobeabletostartaViewora
Controlsession:
1. Assign Target Machine, Activate PEGASUS and PEGASUS Shield. Refer to user
manualfordetails.
2. Connect PEGASUS to its power supply. It is recommended to connect the
groundingscrewtoaclean/instrumentgroundbus.
3.ConnectvideocablefromTargetmachinetoaPEGASUSvideoinput.
4.ConnectTargetmachinetoPEGASUSkeyboardandmouseport;thisconnectionis
requiredevenifthesessionisaviewonlysession.
5. If using wired connection to connect PEGASUS to LAN/internet, connect the
networkcable(s).
6.ConnectPEGASUSShieldtoTargetmachine.
7.PowerupPEGASUS,giveenoughtimetoPEGASUStobootandgetonline.
8. Remote user shall connect to PEGASUS using configured means of remote
connection.
9.RemoteusershallloginaseitherControllerorViewer.
10.Remoteusershallselect start session from the menu.Asessionauthentication
willpopup.
11. PEGASUS session authentication code shall be transferred over non‐PEGASUS
meanstolocaluser,exampleviaphonecallortextmessage.
12. Local user shall start PEGASUS Shield and enter the PEGASUS session
authenticationcode.Ifcorrect,Shieldsessionauthenticationcodewillbedisplayed,
otherwiseremoteusershallwaitfortheanewPEGASUSsessionauthentication
code.Codesautomaticallychangeevery1minute.
13.Shield sessionauthentication codeto betransferred over non‐PEGASUS means
toremoteuser,exampleviaphonecallortextmessage.
14. Remote user shall enter the Shield session authentication code. If correct,
sessionwillstart,otherwiseremoteusershallrestart the authenticationprocedure
andwaitforanewPEGASUSsessionauthenticationcode.
