Introduction
What is Bluetooth Wireless Technology?
Bluetooth wireless technology is set to revolutionize the personal
connectivity market by providing connectivity between mobile computers,
mobile phones, portable handheld devices and much more. Bluetooth
wireless technology redefines the very way we experience connectivity.
The X102 Handsfree lets you wirelessly connect to the Bluetooth mobile
phone supporting Headset profile or Handsfree profile.
Please read this user manual carefully before you start using the headset.

Headset Features
1. Talk Button Turns the headset on/off, answers/ends a
call, pairs the headset with a device, and
is used for voice dialing.
2. Volume Up Button Increases the speaker volume.
3. Volume Down Button Decreases the speaker volume.
4. Headset LED Indicator Indicates the headset status.
5. Microphone Picks up the voice inputted.
6. Speaker Plays the sound received.
7. Earpiece Arm Securely holds the headset in the ear.
8. Socket Port Charges the headset and connects the
earhook to the headset.
9. Reset Button Re-initializes the headset.
10. Earhook Attaches the headset over the ear.
Charging the Headset
First-time charge
Before using the headset for the first time, you have to charge its
self-contained battery for 2.5 hours to get a full charge.

Recharging
When the battery is low, the headset LED indicator starts flashing red, and a
warning tone will be heard. The low battery warning tone will start 3.5 hours
while in standby mode or 8 minutes while in talk mode before the headset
runs out of power. The warning tone will stop once the rechargeable
earhook is plugged into the headset. However, the warning tone will last for
several minutes if the rechargeable earhook is used after the headset runs
out of the power.
Certainly, you can recharge the headset at any time without first draining
the battery. To keep the battery in good condition, always recharge the
headset once a month if the battery is completely discharged.
A fully charged headset provides:
zTalk time: Up to 6 hours
zStandby time: Up to 120 hours
Knowing the Y-Cable
zDC Jack: Plugging into the earhook
zDC Plug: Plugging into the headset
zPower receptacle: connecting to the switching adapter
zLED Indicators: Showing the charging status
How to charge the headset:
1. The headset must be charged at room temperature.
2. Connect the switching adapter cord to the power receptacle
located on the Y-Cable, and plug the switching adapter into an

electrical outlet. The orange LED indicator on the Y-Cable turns on.
3. Attach the DC plug to the headset’s socket port.
4. When the battery is completely charged, the LED indicator on
the headset turns green.
5. You can now remove the headset from the DC plug, and
unplug the switching adapter from the electrical outlet.
During charging, if a call comes in while the headset is turned on, you can
pick up the headset from the Y-Cable to accept the call.
NOTICE: The socket ports can be used to either charge the headset or
connect the earhook to the headset.
How to charge the rechargeable earhook:
The rechargeable earhook has a built-in battery. It can replace the original
earhook (without battery built in) supplied to provide additional power to
the headset, and greatly extend talk and standby time.
1. Repeat step 2 above.
2. Connect the rechargeable earhook to the DC jack.

3. During charging, the red LED indicator on the Y-Cable shows a steady
light.
4. When charging is complete, the LED indicator turns green.
Putting on the Headset
The X102 Handsfree is designed to be worn on either ear. Its earpiece arm
features an adjustable as well as a 90 degree rotatable design that gives a
secure fit to your ear.
The earhook can be connected into the socket port by either side of the
headset, please see above.
IMPORTANT: Please follow the above instructions to insert the earhook and
avoid vertical insert. Also, be careful when you are adjusting the earhook’s
angel. Do not force it too much or damage may occur.
Placing the headset on your ear
1. Directly put the earpiece into your outer
ear canal.

2. Loop the earhook over your ear.
3. Adjust the earpiece arm to stabilize the
headset. The microphone should be
positioned toward to your mouth.
Turning the Headset On/Off

1. Press the talk button for about 5 seconds until you
hear a low tone followed by a high tone. The
headset LED indicator flashes blue 5 times.
2. The headset turns on and enters standby mode.
The headset LED indicator continuously flashes
blue every 3 seconds.

1. Press the talk button for about 2seconds until you
hear a high tone followed by a low tone. The headset LED indicator
flashes red 5times.
2. The headset turns off and the headset LED indicator no longer blinks.

Pairing the Headset
Before using the headset, you must first pair it with a Bluetooth wireless
technology enabled device, such as a Bluetooth mobile phone.
NOTICE: Pairing must be done every time while the headset establishes a
link with a different Bluetooth wireless technology enabled device. Pairing
mode can only be entered from the power off mode. During pairing, it is
strongly recommended that the headset and phone distance is as close as
possible with no objects in between.
To initiate pairing with a mobile phone:
1. Please turn off the headset.
2. Make sure that the mobile phone is turned on.
3. Press the talk button to turn on the headset, and keep the talk button
pressed for 2seconds until the headset LED indicator alternates
between blue and red. The headset is now ready for pairing process
with the mobile phone.
4. Perform a device discovery from the mobile phone. (For details on
device discovery, please consult your phone’s user’s guide.)
5. Once the mobile phone discovers the headset, the device name
X-102 HF appears on the phone’s screen.
6. Follow the phone instructions to accept pairing. When prompted to
enter the passkey, enter the number: 0000.
NOTICE: It may take several seconds to establish connections.
7. If time runs out after 60 seconds and the pairing fails, you will have to
repeat the steps above. You can view the status from the phone’s
screen.
8. After completing pairing, the phone’s screen will notify you that the
pairing was successful. The headset LED indicator continuously flashes
blue, and the headset goes into standby mode. You are ready to
make and receive calls.

Placing a Call
You can make a call through:
Dialing a number from your mobile phone
1. Dial the phone number from the mobile phone’s keypad.
2. Press the phone’s MAKE/ACCEPT Call key to make a call.
3. The call automatically transfers to the headset.
Voicedialing
To use voice dialing, this functionality is only available if the mobile phone
supports voice dialing. For details on voice dialing, please see your phone’s
user’s guide.
1. Press the talk button once on your headset.
2. After a short tone sounds, speak the name of the person you hope to
reach (if the voice tag of the person has been added to your phone).
3. The phone automatically dials the number. You can see the details of
the call from the phone’s screen.
Redialingthelastnumber
To redial the last number, press either the volume up button or volume
down button for 3 seconds. The function is only available for mobile phones
supporting Handsfree profile.
NOTICE: Make sure the headset and mobile phone are in the link stage. For
the examples of Sony Ericsson and Nokia mobile phones, the and
symbols mean that the linking between headset and phone is established.
For Nokia mobile phone, it is necessary to press the talk button once to
make the symbol on the phone while the headset is disconnected or
power off.

Receiving a Call
When a call comes in, the headset rings and the LED indicator flashes blue
every 3 seconds. You can either press the talk button once on the headset
or press the MAKE/ACCEPT Call key on your mobile phone to answer the
call.
NOTICE: If the mobile phone rings first, wait until you hear a ring tone from
the headset, and then press the talk button to answer the call.
Ending a Call
To end a call, press the headset’s talk button once or press the phone’s END
key. The headset returns to standby mode.
Rejecting a Call
To reject an incoming call, press the headset’s talk button for 2 seconds.
The function is only available for mobile phones supporting Handsfree
profile.
Volume Control
During a call, you can adjust the headset speaker volume by using the
volume up and volume down buttons. An audio tone is played for each
volume up and volume down step.
Press the volume up and volume down buttons to reach your desired
volume level.
Transferring a Call
To transfer a call from the headset to the mobile phone, initiate it from the
mobile phone. (Refer to your phone’s user’s guide)
To transfer a call from the mobile phone to the headset, press the talk

button once.
Mute/Un-mute
To mute the headset sound during a call, press the volume up button or the
volume down button for 2 seconds until you hear 2 low beeps repeated
every 2 seconds. To un-mute, press the volume up button or the volume
down button once.
This function enables you to hear all sounds coming from the person on the
other side, but the person cannot hear your voice.
Resetting the Headset
If the headset does not function normally, you can try to reset the headset
to resolve most problems. To reset the headset, press the reset button at the
bottom of the headset once, and then turn on the headset. Resetting
won’t delete previously stored pairing information.
NOTICE: The X102 Handsfree supports both Headset and Handsfree profiles.
Some mobile phones don’t support all functions listed above. Please
consult your phone’s user’s guide.

Troubleshooting
Headset does not work:
Make sure:
zThe headset is turned on and paired with your mobile phone.
zYou activated the Bluetooth feature on your phone.
zThe headset is within 10 meters of your phone, and no obstructions
between headset and phone.

Charging LED does not turn on when charging the rechargeable earhook:
Ensure:
zThe earhook is properly inserted into DC jack on the Y-cable.
zThe switching adapter is properly inserted into the Y-cable.
Headset does not pair with Bluetooth phone:
zEnsure the headset is on pairing mode. (Blue and red LEDs across
blinking)
zYour Bluetooth phone pairing list may be full, try to eliminate not
necessary Bluetooth devices.
Headset LED indicator flashes red:
zThis indicates the headset is on low battery condition. Please charge the
headset.
Headset is automatically turned off:
zBattery is too low.

Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Priver will void the
warranty.
