1Introduction
1.1 Product Description
RadTarge II | Personal Electronic Dosimeter is a series of all-digital electronic personal dosimeters
(EPD) covering a wide range of gamma and X-ray radiation that combines four functions in one:
Dose equivalent rate meter
Accumulated dose meter
Active self-reading dose meter
Active self-alarming dose meter
RadTarge II uses a high-performance YSO scintillation crystal combined with a state-of-the-art silicon
photomultiplier (SiPM) and multi-voltage threshold (MVT) algorithm to detect a wide range of
radiation doses.
RadTarge II protects users and notifies them of their environmental conditions instantly and
accurately. Proportional, real-time detection and measurement provide meaningful readouts that
focus on the awareness and safety of the user during critical times. The fast response and wide dose
rate range maximize the safety of your team. Audible, visual, and vibrating alarms alert the wearer of
alarm conditions. Intuitive navigation allows users to adjust settings in the field.
This pager-like, direct-reading EPD accurately detects and measures radiation exposure for workers
and responders in potentially hazardous environments. Its backlit LCD provides a clear indication of
the wearer’s equivalent dose rate and accumulated dose.
RadTarge II runs for 200 hours of continuous use on a full charge. Additional capabilities, including
data logging and personnel tracking, are available with the installation of RadSuite-Dose | Personal
Dose Management Software.

2Operation
2.1 Actions
2.1.1 Power On/Off
Press the power button for two seconds until the screen lights up. After starting, the device will
automatically enter the main interface (dose rate interface). To turn off the device, press the power
button for two seconds.
2.1.2 Interface Switching
Press the settings button to toggle between interfaces.
2.2 Interfaces
2.2.1 Dose Rate Interface
The dose rate interface is the main interface after turning on the device; it displays the dose
equivalent rate.
* Accurate to 0.001 mrem/h when the reading is below 100 mrem/h, else to 0.01 mrem/h. Automatically displays
appropriate unit according to radiation intensity.
2.2.2 Cumulative Dose Interface
Press the settings button directly under the power button to switch to the cumulative dose interface,
which displays the cumulative dose equivalent.

2.3 Settings
To enter setup mode, press the settings button for two seconds. “SET” will appear at the top center of
the display. Press the settings button for two seconds in any settings interface to exit setup mode and
return to the main interface.
2.3.1 Alarm Options
Enter setup mode. The flashing icon at the top left of the display indicates which alarm mode (audible
or vibrating) is being altered. Press the power button to toggle alarm on or off; press the settings
button to save changes and move onto the next alarm mode.
2.3.2 Threshold Settings
Enter setup mode and press the settings button three times. “AL” will flash at the top of the display.
Press the power button to enter threshold settings setup. The threshold value being altered will start
flashing; press the power button to choose values, and press the settings button to apply changes.
2.3.3 Dose Clearing
Enter setup mode and press the settings button four times. When “CLR” is displayed, press and hold
the power button for two seconds to enter dose clearing mode. When “YES” is displayed, press the
power button for two seconds to confirm. When “DONE” is displayed, the dose has been cleared.
Press any button to return to the main interface.

2.3.4 Date and Time Settings
Enter setup mode and press the settings button five times. When “RTC” is displayed, press and hold
the power button for two seconds to enter the date and time settings. Press the power button to
choose values for year, month, day, and time (24-hour format). Press the settings button to move
onto the next digit. On the final digit of the time settings, press and hold the settings button until
“DONE” is displayed to save changes. Press any button to return to the main interface.
2.4 Data Transfer and Charging
Turn on RadTarge II. Connect it to your computer using the included MicroUSB cable. Data from the
device can be transferred via RadSuite-Dose to manage personal dose of record.
To charge the battery, connect RadTarge II to a powered USB port or charger using the MicroUSB
cable. The charging light on the bottom indicates charging status.
2.5 Software
RadTarge II and RadPavise are used in conjunction with RadSuite-Dose to enable features such as
dose management; data logging and export; and user and device management.
2.5.1 Download
RadSuite-Dose is available for Mac and Windows and can be downloaded online.

2.5.2 Software Login
The login interface includes the title bar, user login, and status bar.

The title bar includes the Raycan logo and two to three buttons:
Main interface button: Enter dose management interface
Settings button: Enter user and device settings interface
Logout button (visible after logging in): Log out of account
User Login
There are two ways to log in to RadSuite-Dose:
Account login: User enters username and password on the login screen
Device login: After connecting a device that has been assigned to a user, the system
automatically logs into the user’s account
Status Bar
The status bar includes three functionalities:
Device connection status: shows whether a device is connected to the computer via USB
User login status: shows whether a user is logged in
Device lookup: click to reveal list of all devices that have been connected to the software;
users can click to view data associated with each device

2.5.3 Main Interface
After logging in, the software switches to the main interface.
The main interface includes the function selection bar, data display area, and the informational
sidebar. The description of the function selection bar is shown in the following table.

Log interface
The informational sidebar is composed of two sections. The top section displays basic information of
the owner of the device. The bottom section contains basic information about the device.
2.5.4 Cumulative Dose Curve
Click the sidebar toggle to show or hide the informational sidebar.
There are two data modes to choose from: Hp(10) (deep dose equivalent) and Hp(0.07) (shallow dose
equivalent). The active data mode is highlighted in gray. Click on the desired data mode to switch
modes.
The date selection menu allows users to see data corresponding to the selected date. If there is no
data, the data curve area will be blank.

2.5.5 Log Interface
The log interface contains the device’s operation log. The log records four states:

Clicking the date selection menu reveals a dropdown menu. Users can adjust the time period from

2.5.6 Settings Interface
Click on the gear icon on the top right to access the settings interface. The function selection bar

User Management
Super admins can add and delete users on the user management interface. Clicking add leads to the
user creation interface.
Fill in the user’s basic information and assign a user group. Generally, setting the user group to user is
recommended. Click apply to complete user creation.
