Battery change :
The device may only be used wi h 2 AAA ba eries - never ry o connec o ano her
power supply. When inser ing ba eries be sure he righ polari y is used. Remov

he ba eries when he device is no used for a longer period. Make sure ha he
ba eries are no shor circui ed and are no disposed in fire (danger of explosion)
Ba eries do no belong in children hands. Don’ le ba eries lay around openly -
hey migh be swallowed by children or animals. If his happens see a doc or
immedia ely.
Leaking or damaged ba eries can upon con ac wi h skin cause burning or acid

Quick start guide
1) Put the batteries in
1. Open he cover on he back of he UR76E
2. Inser 2 ba eries (LR03 alkaline). Make sure he ba eries are he same brand
and are NEW
2) Programme your UR76E
1. Turn on he equipmen ha you wish o con rol (TV, VCR, DVD, SAT, CD e c ...)
2. Take he code book supplied wi h he UR76E and find he brand of he
equipmen you wish o con rol. E.g. if you have a Thomson TV look for Thomson
under he TV sec ion.
3. Press on he key marked « SETUP » (2) pressing he key un il he red LED s ays
permanen ly brigh . This akes abou 3 seconds.
4. Press on he TV, VCR, DVD, SAT... mode key (4), in accordance wi h he
appliance you wish o con rol.
5. From he code book ake he firs number corresponding o your equipmen and
en er he number by pressing he 0-9 key pad (11). Each ime you press a key
he red LED (1) will flash.
6. If he number is correc ly en ered he red LED will swi ch off. If he number is
incorrec hen he red LED will flash fas . If incorrec you will need o begin a 1.

miss he code, you can s op he au osearch by pressing

8. Press on he key POWER (3). If your equipmen swi ches off you have found
he righ code. If i does no swi ch off, you will need o re-s ar from 1.
Sometimes there are several codes which have similar features. If you find that
your UR76E does not work for some functions, you may need to search for another
code.

Troubleshooting
1) Introduction
The UR76E is designed o con rol up o 8 devices (TV, VCR, DVD, Sa elli e, CD, CBL
and PC, plus X10 modules). The UR76E con ains a library of codes which are pre-
programmed in o he remo e con rol. This library covers nearly all he audio video
produc s on he marke oday.
To make i easy for you o find he righ code for your audio video equipmen , we
advise o use he AUTOSEARCH fea ure.
2) Put in the batteries (always use NEW alkaline batteries LR03)
1. Open he cover on he back of he UR76E.
2. Inser 2 AAA ba eries - LR03 alkaline, verify ha hey are placed correc ly wi h
he + on he ba ery in he same posi ion as marked inside he ba ery
compar men .
3) General Point
The RF transmission: I is simul aneous o he IR signal. This allows you o
combine he commands of your TV , VCR ... and wi h he use of he Power Mid i
works hrough walls and floors.
The double function : i allows you o con rol he volume and he « mu e » bu on
of your TV even when you are in VCR, DVD, SAT or CD or SAT mode.

4) Functio
ns of the keys
[1] LE indicator : The indica or ligh flashes when he remo e is opera ing or
ligh s con inuously while you are programming he remo e.
[2] SETUP :
This allows you o program your remo e before he firs use.
[3] POWER / ALL LIGHTS ON:
For
A/V applications :
Allows you o swi ch off he las selec ed appliance.
In Home Automation Mode : allows you o swi ch ON all he ligh s connec ed o
an X10 module.
[4] TV, VCR, V , SAT, C , CBL and PC : These keys allow you o selec he
appliance you
wish o con rol.
PC key: In combina ion wi h he op ional USB-RF receiver, his key will allow you o
con rol MP3, DVD and CD func ion on your PC. Ask your dealer for more
informa ion.
[5] X10 mode : To con rol he ligh s/appliances connec ed o an X10 module
[6] Channel + / - :
For A/V applications :

efault Volume Control
SAT box may no be equiped of a volume adjus men func ion. Never heless, he
remo e con rol can command he volume via he TV, even if he las selec ed mode
was SAT. (No need o repress TV mode key). Jus proceed as follow :
1. Press and release he TV Mode bu on (4) – remo e mus be in TV mode for his
procedure.
2. Press and hold SETUP (2) bu on un il LED remains on.
3. Release SETUP bu on.
4. Press and hold he Mu e (8) key for approxima ely 8 seconds. LED will blink and
s ay off for he 8 second period hen blink once more o indica e volume defaul
accep ance. LED (1) will remain off.
5. Remo e volume defaul is now se .
5) Programming your TV, VCR , V , SAT, C and CBL
No e : you can dedica e any appliance (TV, DVD,SAT...) o he VCR, DVD, SAT, CD,
CBL and PC keys : you need firs o en er he 3 digi code of he appliance you wish
o con rol (found in he code book). In any case, follow he me hod below:
1. Press and hold he SETUP (2) key un il he LED indica or ligh s con inuously.
Release he
SETUP
key.
2. Press and release he mode key (4) of he device you wan o con rol (for
example TV).
3. Make sure your equipmen is swi ched on (for example TV)
4. En er he 3 digi code (11) from he library able. The LED (1) urns off af er he
las digi is en ered. If you en ered a wrong code he LED blinks for 3 seconds
and hen goes off. You have o repea from s ep 2.
5. Poin he remo e in he direc ion of your TV and press he POWER bu on (3).
Your device should urn off. Check o her func ions (for example for a VCR: FF or
REW e c.). If cer ain func ions are no responding his indica es ha he en ered
code is no he correc one. In ha case repea he above procedure wi h he
nex corresponding code of your brand.
6. Repea his procedure for he o her equipmen you wan o con rol (TV, VCR,
DVD, SAT, CD, and CBL)
6) Manual code search
If your equipmen (TV, SAT e c....) does no respond, ry he o her codes for your
brand. If i s ill doesn’ respond, ry he Code Search me hod.
If you wish o dedica e ano her appliance o he VCR, DVD, SAT or CD keys you
need firs o en er he 3 digi code of an appliance similar o he appliance you wan
o con rol. i.e.: o search for a SAT code firs en er he code (found in he code
book) of any SAT as described in § 5. Then follow he s eps below :
1. Make sure your equipmen is swi ched on. If no swi ch i on manually
2. Press and hold SETUP (2) un il he LED indica or ligh s s eadily. Release SETUP

example TV).
4. Press Channel +(6) repea edly un il he channel changes. If you s ep pas he

7) Automatic code search
When searching an unknown code, you can s ep hrough he library au oma ically
(Au oSearch). When your equipmen responds, you can s op he searching process
and s ore he code you have found.
If you wish o dedica e ano her appliance o he VCR, DVD, SAT or CD keys you
need firs o en er he 3 digi code of an appliance similar o he appliance you wan
o con rol. i.e.: o search for a SAT code firs en er he code (found in he code
book) of any SAT as described in § 5. Then follow he s eps below :
1. Turn on he device you wan o con rol.
2. Press and hold SETUP (2) un il he LED indica or (1) ligh s s eadily. Release
SETUP bu on.
3. Press he mode bu on (4) ha ma ches he equipmen you wish o con rol. The
LED (1) blinks once.
5. Press CHANNEL+ (6) once. Af er a few seconds he remo e s ar s s epping
hrough he code library (fas search, 1 code per second). You can press
CHANNEL+ (6) o swi ch o slow search (1 code per 3 seconds). You can s ep
back by pressing CHANNEL- (6) (you can s ep forward by pressing
CHANNEL+(6)
in case you wen oo far back). As soon as he device responds
again, press he --/- key (13) o s ore he code you found.
8) Identifying codes found using the search procedure
1. Press and hold SETUP (2) un il he LED indica or (1) ligh s s eadily. Release
SETUP
2. Press he mode key (4) for he equipmen you wan o iden ify (TV, VCR, V ,
SAT, C , CBL, PC). The LED blinks once.
3. Press again SETUP. The LED blinks once.
4. To iden ify he firs digi press each number bu on from 0 – 9 (11) un il he LED
blinks. The number you pressed is he firs digi of he code.

6. Press each number key from 0 – 9 as above o find he hird digi . When he hird
digi has been found he LED will go off. Don’ forge o wri e down he code on

9) Learning commands
Your UR76E remo e has he codes for mos TV’s, VCR’s e c. in i s code library.
However, if he code for your par icular device is no found in he library, you can
learn hese codes from your exis ing remo e. Or if you find a code from he ables in
his manual ha “almos ” ma ches your device, bu a few bu ons are missing, you
can learn jus hose bu ons.
1. Poin your exis ing remo e a he UR76E remo e (fron o fron ) wi h a dis ance of
abou 2,5 cen ime res be ween he remo es.
2. Press and hold SETUP (2) un il he LED indica or ligh s s eadily.
3. Press he mode bu on (TV, CD, SAT, e c.) ha ma ches he equipmen you wish
o learn. The LED (1) blinks once.
4. Press and release he LEARN bu on (24). The LED (1)
blinks once.
5. Press and release he bu on on he UR76E remo e which will learn he func ion.
The LED blinks once.
6. Press he func ion key on your existing remo e ha you wan o ransmi . Hold
he bu on un il he LED on he UR76E remo e blinks off shor ly.
7. Repea s eps 5 and 6 for each func ion you wan o learn.
8. When you’re finished learning all he keys, press SETUP (2) .
10) Clearing learned commands to free up memory:
To Clear all stored Learned Commands under a Mode :
You can clear learned commands for each device individually (TV, VCR. E c.):
1. Press and hold SETUP (2) un il he LED indica or ligh s eadily. Release he SETUP
bu on.
2. Press he desired mode bu on (TV, VCR, e c.) (4). The LED flashes once.
3. Press and release he LEARN (24) key wice.
4. Press he SETUP (2) key. The LED (1) will urn off af er a few seconds.
5. All learned commands en ries under ha mode are now cleared.
Master Clear - To Clear all stored Learned Commands (recommended on firs
ime Learning) :
1. Press and hold SETUP bu on (2) un il he Visible LED (1) remains on
(approxima ely 2-3 seconds).
2. Release SETUP bu on.
3. Press and release he Learn key (24) wice. LED (1) will blink off o indica e he
keypress accep ance.

4. Press
and release he SETUP (2) key. Visible LED will urn off af er a few
seconds.
5. All Learned Command en ries are now cleared.
Notes for learning your remote:
- Make sure you have fresh ba eries in bo h remo es before learning.

Take care no o move ei

No func ions may be s ored under he Learn, Se up, TV, VCR, CBL, SAT, CD, CBL,
PC or any of he X10 con rol keys.
- Experimen by learning 2 or 3 keys ini ially ( o ensure compa ibili y) and hen
clear he s ored learned commands before comple ely learning your original
remo e’s keyboard.

- Some remo es do no have heir IR sender LED in he cen re so you migh need

- Do no proceed in direc sunligh , under a fluorescen or incandescen lamp while
eaching he UR76E remo e.

11) Macro function
Your UR76E remo e has 2 Macro keys M1 and M2. You can program hese 2 keys o
execu e a serie of commands wi h one press of hese bu ons. This fea ure is ideal
for swi ching on all your audio and video equipmen or choose a preferred se ing of
your Home Thea re Sys em.
Programming the macro key M1 and M2
1. Press and hold Se up (2) un il he LED indica or ligh s s eadily. Release he Se up
k
ey
2. Press he Macro key you wan o program (25)
3. Press he keys on your UR76E remo e which you wan o s ore under he Macro
key ( he maximum is 14 commands) The firs key s ored in a Macro mus be a
Mode key. The order of programming is also he order of execu ion of he Macro.
The indica or ligh (1) blink a each keypress. Use he mode keys (4) for any
mode changes.
4. To s ore he macro, press he Macro key once more. If you reach he maximum
of 14 commands he Macro will be au oma ically s ored on
he 14

keypress and
he Visible LED (1) will urn off.

Note for programming Macro’s:
I may be necessary o have “delays” included in he Macro sequence (e.g. o allow
your TV warm-up ime). Delays can be achieved by using he Pause key followed
by he number of seconds delay required e.g. o en er a delay of 4 seconds, press
and release Pause followed by 4. Maximum delay is 9 seconds. I is no possible o
have a “0” digi en ered af er Pause i.e. here is no zero delay.
There is an au oma ic delay of 1 second be ween each IR ransmission in he
sequence
To elete a Macro :-
1. Press and hold he Se up bu on un il he Visible LED remains on. Release Se up
bu on.
2. Press and release he Macro key you wan o dele e. Visible LED will blink off o
indica e he keypress accep ance.
3. Press and release he Se up key. The Visible LED will urn off and he Macro is
dele ed.
12) Controlling your house with home automation modules from X10
The UR76E remo e allows you o command all elec ric appliances you have in your
house. In addi ion o ransmi ing infrared signals, which con rol your TV, VCR, SAT,
CD, DVD and CBL, your remo e is equiped wi h a radio ransmi er sending X10
signals, which will enable you o con rol from a dis ance lamps and elec ric
appliances.
Here are some examples ha you can do wi h your 8 in 1 remo e using X10:

Swi ch on/off , dim ligh s while you wa ch TV.

Swi ch on he ligh s a nigh o frigh en in ruders when you de ec some hing
suspicious

your elec ric blanke before he film ends o have i warm when you go
o sleep
For con rolling your lamps or appliances, you will need addi ional X10 home
modules. The modules are simply plugged in o a/c ou le wi h no addi ional wiring
required. Con ac
your re ailer for addi ional informa ion.
To switch on/ off an appliance plugged into an X10 module : Press he X10
key (5), hen press he uni code of he X10 module on he key pad (11) and hen
press CHAN+ / - (6)
To dim/bright a light plugged into an X10 module : press i s uni code on he
key pad (11) and hen press VOL+ / - (7)
To turn ON all the X10 Lamp modules:
Press he Power key (3)
To turn Off all the X10 modules (Lamp and appliance):
press he Mu e key (8)

13) Changing
the X10 House Code
The prese house code is A and in he majori y of cases i is no necessary o
change his se ing excep if here is in erference from neighbouring X10 sys ems.
In ha case :
1. Press and hold SETUP (2) un il he LED ligh s con inuously

(1=A, 2=B, ... 16=P).
4. Press he --/- (13) o confirm your command. The LED will urn off
No e : The code you have chosen for your remo e has o be he same as he one
selec ed on he Transceiver module TM13 or he securi y console.
14) Problems and troubleshooting
The remo e doesn’ work or looses codes en ered
· Confirm wi h your original remo e ha he equipmen works correc ly
· Make sure h
a you have pressed he corresponding mode key of he equipmen
or device ha you wan o con rol.
· If he lis ed code does no work, ry he AUTOSEARCH me hod or en er he nex
code of ha brand.
· To find he corresponding code for your equipmen use he au oma ic search.
· Check ha he ba eries respec he polari y of he ba ery compar men .
· The programming of he remo e requires 2 AAA ba eries (new). If he remo e
looses codes wi hin a few days/weeks he problem can be solved by using 2 new
ba eries of he same brand.
· If he LED is li permanen ly, i will generally be necessary o replace he
ba eries.
Important:
The UR76E must be used only in the way described in this instruction
manual and may not be used for a purpose not intended.
