Thank you for purchasing the MP3 player „BogieMan IV”
from X4-TECH.
This instruction manual will explain and help you to un-
derstand how this MP3 player operates, as well as provide
you with information on maintenance, cleaning and safety
procedures.
To maintain this products condition and ensure safe ope-
ration, we would like to request the owner to take time to
read and follow all instructions found in this manual care-
fully! Retain this instruction manual for future reference.
Improvements on our equipment are continuously being
made in both quality and performance, thus we reserve the
right to alter specications and information contained in
this manual without notice.

This product is intended for music playback in either MP3
or WMA format. Choose between a memory capacity of
2048 MB or 4096 MB, depending on player version and or-
der number.
Use the USB 2.0 connection to copy music and video les to
your MP3 player; during data transport between two com-
puters you will also be able to le other data in memory
as well.
The labels found on the device should never be removed
or damaged in any way. Misuse or operating the device in
any other way than described in this manual could lead
or cause damage to the device. Furthermore, there is the
risk of short circuiting, re, electric shock, etc. All company
names and product names are trademarks of their respec-
tive owners. All rights reserved.
Before connecting your MP3 player to a computer, please
make sure that the USB cable is connected to your player
rst, before connecting it to your computer. Before discon-
necting the MP3 player from your computer, use the mouse
to click on the symbol „Safely Remove Hardware”, in the
taskbar at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Next,
select„USB mass storage device”and conrm to remove.
After conrmation, detach the USB cable from the com-
puter port rst, before detaching it from your MP3 player.

Disconnecting the MP3 player improperly or improper op-
eration can result in damaged or lost les. We assume no
liability for any damage resulting from the failure to com-
ply with the instructions (as described above), improper
operation and handling.
Battery insertion and information
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of
the player by sliding the lid down.
2. Insert 1x AA batteries (1.5 V) into the corresponding bat-
tery compartment, checking the polarity of the batteries („+”
and„-“ as indicated in the compartment) before inserting.
3.Replace the cover by sliding into place.
› Replace the battery if the MP3 player turns automatically
o, after being turned on again.
› Never leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around
in order to prevent them from being swallowed by children
or pets. Battery ingestion is a serious medical emergency.

Seek medical care immediately.
› Batteries that are leaking or damaged can cause chemi-
cal burns when touched. Avoid contact and only use safety
gloves should this be the case.
› If the player is not in use for a longer period of time (e.g.
storage), remove the battery/ rechargeable battery to
prevent damage from corroding or leaking batteries/ re-
chargeable batteries.
› Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of children’s
reach.

We assume no liability for damage occurred as a result of
improper use or damage resulting from the failure to com-
ply with the safety instructions, improper operation and
handling. Under such circumstances, all claims under war-
ranty will become void.
Complying with the essential requirements of the Euro-
pean health, safety and environmental protection legisla-
tion (CE), any unauthorized modication and/or change on
the device is prohibited and will void the warranty and all
warranty claims. For maintenance or repairs please contact
your dealer.
This device is not a toy and is not intended for children.
Keep it away from children at all times to avoid possible
injury, as it contains small parts that could be swallowed.
This device should never come in contact with water or
moisture. Condensation can build up suddenly, when this
device is brought from a colder into a warmer area (e.g.
when transporting). Should this happen, allow the device
to warm up to room temperature rst before using. Care
should be taken that liquids do not come in contact with
the interior. This can not only damage the device, but also

become a re hazard.
Never place any sources of re on top of or near the device
(e.g. lighted candle).
Do not use this device in places that are extremely hot,
cold, dusty or humid.
Do not bend or place any heavy objects on the cable.
Never leave packaging material lying around unsuper-
vised. For children it could become a hazardous toy and
lead to serious injury.
Your full concentration and attention is required while
driving in trac (as well as in many other surroundings).
Using or listening to your MP3 player with earphones/
headphones can divert one’s attention and be just as dis-
tracting, as using your cell phone while driving. In case of
an accident, insurance coverage might be denied and you
could be partially blamed for the accident respectively!
If your car radio has an audio input connection (Line level),
then you can also connect and play this MP3 player through
your radio. Appropriate cables are available at your local
dealer. Please refer to your car radios user manual for more
information.
For safety reasons as mentioned above, only operate (turn-
ing the power on, starting playback, etc.) this product while
your car is parked!
Warning!
Only format this device in a FAT le system! Not in FAT32!
Player software takes up a small portion of the memory for
internal calculations and may be less than the player’s total
internal memory capacity.
Precautions
Do not operate the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty or
damp areas.
Avoid strong impact with hard objects. This could damage
the player’s surface, battery or hardware.
Do not disconnect the player from your PC during forma-
ting or data transfer. Neglecting to do so could result in
software damage.

A-B Repeat
You can play music while a partial section„AB Repeat“. They
dene the starting point „A“ and the end point„B“. The pla-
yer will be part of the section again.
1. In play mode, press „ ” to conrm the starting point
„A“.
2. Again press„ ” to conrm the nishing point „B“. Then
the player will replay the contents from point „A“ to point
„B“.
3. Press„ ” and the player will be set to the normal play-
ing status.

Editing the synchro song lyric
1. Open the notepad to edit the synchro lyrics of a song.
Description of the format (MM:SS) lyric texts ... (change
lines).

2. Save the le which has the same name of the song and a
„.LRC“ extension after editing it.
3. Upload the le with the edited lyrics to the player. Press
and hold the „Mode“ button in the playing mode. The syn-
chro lyrics of the song appear.

to your player rst and then to your computer as displayed

FAQ
Sometimes problems or malfunctions may occur. That is
why we would like to help you with the following possible
solutions should any problems occur.

The player cannot be
turned on.

This is a maintenance-free product that should never be
disassembled.
This product should only be repaired by qualied, autho-
rized personnel or by an authorized dealer, otherwise any
damage caused by improper use or unauthorized modi-
cation will void the warranty/warranty claims and CE au-
thorization.
Use a soft, dry, clean and fuzz-free cloth to clean. Never use
any cleaning agents as these could damage any markings,
labels or the exterior.
Dust can be easily removed with either a soft, clean brush
or a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
After the lifespan of a device has expired it should be col-
lected and disposed of at appropriate sites. Check your
local region for legal requirements and guidelines as to a
proper disposal of electronic equipment in your area.

Any new known problems, drivers, software or rmware
will be released to the public when available and can be
seen under www.x4-tech.de.
Please do not carry out a rmware update if your player
is operating and functioning properly. An update will not
change the player’s technical functions, but (for example)
might only improve the menu.
