2General description
2.1 Intended Use
The XBody Newave is an electrical equipment designed to condition and strengthen muscles of the
human body and prevent overweight. This sports device uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
technology to improve and facilitate muscle conditioning and to improve muscle performance by
increasing the stimulated muscle’s strength and resistance to fatigue. As a result of the training the
calorie demand of the muscles increases thus supporting the prevention of overweight.
The XBody Newave performs low frequency electro muscle stimulation using square waves. The
device provides training programs for:
conditioning / strengthening muscles
enhancing the circulation system of the affected area
relaxing the trained muscles
prevent muscle weakening
XBody Training® provides a unique training experience for conditioning muscles. It is a combination
of the XBody Newave machine, the specific EMS characteristic which is generated by the machine
and applied through a uniquely designed XBody Training Suit.
2.2 Description of the Device and Functional Characteristics
The XBody Newave electrical impulses allow the triggering of action potentials on motoneurones of
motor nerves (excitations). These excitations of motoneurones are transmitted to the muscle fibers
via the motor endplate where they generate mechanical muscle fiber responses that correspond to
muscle work. Depending on the parameters of the electrical impulses (impulse frequency, duration
of contraction, duration of rest, total session duration), different types of muscle work can be
imposed on the stimulated muscles. The various types of muscle work that the XBody Newave can
impose are able to improve or facilitate muscle performance.
XBody Training® provides a unique training experience for conditioning or strengthening muscles. It
is a combination of the XBody Newave machine, the specific EMS characteristic which is generated
by the machine and applied through a uniquely designed XBody Training Suit. The device is not
intended to be used in home healthcare environment.

3.4 Safety regulations
The long-term side effects of prolonged use (for many years) of electrical muscle stimulation
are unknown.
If you have diabetes please be extremely aware of using EMS and stop the training
immediately if you feel dizziness or if you have uncomforted experience.
To make the system work unobjectionably, connect the power supply with an appropriate
mains supply which is specified in the technical data section.
Do not overload the mains power circuit by connecting too many appliances to it.
Never touch the plug with wet hands.
Parallel usage with any high frequency surgery appliance is prohibited.
During EMS training settings are only allowed to be changed carefully as well as to increase
the intensity.
The head can only be plugged into the power supply cord that is inside the leg. Do not
connect it to another power source.
Only the XBody USB drive –which is provided by XBody Hungary LLC –can be used with the
device.
Do not put the machine into a dusty, dirty environment and keep it away from direct
sunlight.
Keep the machine away from animals.
Do not be in contact with the touch screen for more than 10 minutes since it can cause burn
injuries during heavy usage.
3.5 Precautions
This device should be kept out of the reach of children.
People under the age of 16 are not allowed to use the machine.
People with mental deficit can only use the machine with supervision.
This device should only be used with the original accessories (spiral cable) and together with
the XBody Training Suit to assure safe and efficient trainings.
Never set damaged machine in operation. In case you observe damage, unusual smell, noise
or the machine is fuming immediately inform the helpdesk of XBody Hungary LLC.
Do not try to open, repair or manipulate the machine anyways because the warranty is left

It can be unsafe to use the accessories and detachable parts of the machine in a way not
described in the user manual.
You should not interconnect this equipment with any other equipment that are not included
in the user manual.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a supply mains
with protective earth.
3.6 Training intentions
The client must not use the device without the presence of an operator. The operator must
supervise the whole training process.
A client never is an intended operator of the machine, all the operational tasks should be
performed by the trainer.
Maintenance can be done neither by the client nor the trainer, see the Maintenance section
for details.
Stop training immediately in case of being sick, feeling dizzy or feeling pain in the coronal
area.
If the client is feeling unwell inform a healthcare organization after disconnecting the client
from the machine and inform XBody LLC about the incident.
The first training should be started with low intensity. The intensity should be increased
gradually according to your physicality.
There will be reflex-like muscle contraction movements caused by stimulation impulses. To
maintain a state of control you need to maintain pre-contracted muscles and acquire a stable
basic position.
During training you need to tense muscles and have stable basic stand.
Take the time needed for regeneration of your body when taking into consideration
scheduling training sessions.
The trainer must inform the client of the importance of pre-contracting the targeted
muscles. At high intensity stimulation the pre-contraction (voluntary contraction) can help to
avoid the possibility of muscle cramps or pain and joint overstretching (specially elbow).
The trainer must inform the client to breath properly (do not hold breath, breath
continuously) in order to avoid headache, or any other inconvenience or risk during the
training. Muscle stimulation is special sensation in the human body that it creates
involuntary muscle contraction.
High intensity stimulation can cause such a strong involuntary muscle contraction that the
clients balance may be effected therefore the trainer has to control the right stimulation
intensity especially when changing positions of movements or limits movements complexity.
The trainer has to supervise the right posture of the client in every different position to
maintain the efficiency of the stimulation.
The trainer has to inform the client to consume water before, during and after the training.
The trainer must advise the client to consume food few hours prior to the training. It can
happen that clients who skip breakfast and try to endure high intensity training may suffer a
sudden drop of blood sugar level and experience fatigue. At any signs of symptoms (cold
sweat, pale skin, sudden exhaustion, blurry vision, loss of balance) training must be stopped
immediately for a few minutes to recover, or in worse case stop it completely.
Prior to changing the position of the exercise from standing to any sitting or lying position
the contraction level of those muscle groups get in direct contact with the floor need to be

User Manual
Version: 1.7
Page: 8 / 47
decreased to avoid sudden, overloaded (or painful) muscle contraction. After the position is
acquired the intensities on the muscles pressured against the floor should be increased to
the desired level gradually.
The intensities of the muscle groups can only be set during the impulse periods, not in the
breaks.
The client’s consent form must be signed prior to training.
Turning off the machine during training is not advised because in some cases discharge
voltage can be felt. It is not dangerous; however, some people can feel badly. If you would
like to turn off the machine during training, first push the stop button, and then unplug the
clip which connects you and the machine.
3.7 Adverse Reactions
Headache can be felt if the training intensity was too high.
Headache or dizziness can appear if the client did not consume enough water or breathing
was held during the training. Water consumption is extremely important after the training.
The EMS training can result in unexpected and long muscle strain since it provides high
intensity training for almost all of the major muscle groups.
The blood CK (Creatine Kinase) value can be much higher than normal even after 7-9 days
after training. This is a normal reaction of the human body that occurs after high intensity
trainings (especially after EMS trainings)

4Preparing for the first use
The following sections will guide you through the descriptions of the machine and the steps that
must be done in order to set up everything for the training.
4.1 Preparation of the machine for the first use
Note: The assembly preparation steps covered below can be reviewed at any time by accessing
www.xbodyworld.com/set-up/
The serial number of the device has to be given prior having access to the content. Available
languages are Hungarian, English and German.
Instruction manual to access the online guide
After unpacking and checking the accessories, limited assembly activities are required before one can
power-up the machine as described below.
The machine has to be assembled from two parts, the head and the standard leg. There are two
possible leg variants: the standard and port legs.

User Manual
Version: 1.7
Page: 10 / 47
The assembled machine with the standard leg
The machine assembled using the port leg should be placed on a table or a fixed stand. This is a
smaller leg variant.
The assembled machine with the port leg
For the first step the leg should be placed on solid ground right after unpacking. The head element is
installed on the leg as shown in the figure above. The power supply cable at the bottom of the leg
should be plugged into a wall outlet. In order to cut the power of the machine the power supply
cable should be disconnected from the wall outlet.

User Manual
Version: 1.7
Page: 11 / 47
On the upper part of the leg you can find to pins which guide putting the head element into the right
place. Before fitting the head to the leg, the power supply cable has to be attached into the
connector on the bottom of the head. After that, the head can be placed with an easy downward
pressure (see figure below). Note: The head can only be plugged into the power supply cord that is
inside the leg. Do not connect it to another power source. The device falls into the Type BF
classification. The training suit including the cabling and electrodes is classified as applied part thus
the client has to be in physical contact with these parts during the training.
Placing the head on the leg
On the back side of the head you can find an On/Off button, a USB port and a parallel port. Only an
XBody USB drive can be plugged into the device, which is provided by XBody Hungary LLC. With the
help of the USB drive, the training statistics can be exported. The parallel port provides an interface
for the spiral cable thus it is responsible for the connection between the machine and the suit. The
machine connector of the spiral cable should be put into the parallel port and it must be fixed with
the pin connection on the cable housing. The free end of the spiral cable can be hanged on the
fixture provided on the side of the leg just below and to the left of the primary spiral cable interface.
USB and parallel port
In order to switch on the device use the On/Off button on the back of the head and the machine will
be ready to use.

User Manual
Version: 1.7
Page: 12 / 47
On/Off button on the back of the head
The power supply unit is placed inside the bottom part of the leg, therefore it is part of the device. If
the switch on the leg is set to state 0 the device cannot be started because the device is not under
electricity.
This is the last step of the machine assembly.
Note: Let the assembled XBody Newave settle to the ambient temperature of the training
environment to assure best start-up responses to the introduction of electrical power.
4.2 Cables
The spiral cable is manufactured by XBody Hungary LLC and is uniquely identified. It contains an NFC
chip which carries the same information as the labeling on the housing of the connector. It states the
type of the cable and the date of manufacturing. This cable must be connected to the cable whip
contained in the XBody Training Suit.
Important: If the cable becomes disconnected either before or during training, turn off the
stimulation, reconnect the cables, and then resume the training session.
