Copy
Basic Copy using default options
When the default copy settings are used, the display indicates
that the roll of media that best fits the size of the original
document will be automatically selected. Leave the reduction/
enlargement setting set at 100%, and the copy quantity set to 1.
Making a copy the same size as the original
1. Select the Copy button.
2. On the Basic Copy screen, elect 100.0% for
Reduce/Enlarge and Auto Select for Media Supply, as
shown in the next diagram.
3. Select the quantity. Enter the number of copies (1 to 99)
using the numeric keypad. The default setting is 1.
4. Set the original document in alignment with the original
guide, facing down. The original will be scanned
automatically, and copied.
5. To stop copying, press the Stop button.
 

Fitting an image to a fixed copy size
By selecting the desired copy size, you can easily make scaled copies as needed.

1. Select the Copy button.
2. Select the desired standard size for Media Supply.
3. Select Auto % for Reduce/Enlarge.
4. If the desired standard size is not listed, select More. Select
the desired size for Standard Size, and select the Save
button.
NOTE: “Tray” can be specified instead of media size. Refer
to Media Supply section, in Chapter 3 of the Xerox 6204
Wide Format Solution User Guide.
5. Enter the number of copies (1 to 99) using the numeric
keypad.
6. Set the original in landscape orientation. The original will be
scanned automatically, and copied.

Copy Options
Original Type
Selects the image quality corresponding to each type of original.
Use this feature to scan blueprints and tracing paper more
clearly. See the Xerox 6204 Wide Format Solution User

Copy Density
Adjusts the density of the copy. See the Xerox 6204 Wide

Background Suppression
Erases the background color of original that contain unevenness
of density. Use this feature to scan an original that could not be
scanned clearly using the Original Type feature. See the Xerox

Contrast
Adjusts the contrast of original. Use this feature to copy
photographs or posters. See the Xerox 6204 Wide Format

Image Location
Shifts the image copy position. Use this feature when copying
letters on the edge of original or making punch holes. See the

Scan Start Position
Skips the unneeded portion such as header on the lead edge of
the original. See the Xerox 6204 Wide Format Solution User

Lead & Trail Margins
Makes copies with the lead and trail margins. See the Xerox

Collation
When Collated is selected, the Xerox 6204 machine prints
sheets sorted into sets that are arranged in page order. See the

Mirror Image
Makes copies with the left and right sides of the original image

Invert Image
Makes copies with the “colors” of the original image reversed in

Print
Printing Documents
Instructions for how to print are located in the appropriate
documentation for the tool that is being used (i.e. BT Plot,
Windows Driver, Web Print Management Tool, etc...). Refer to
the appropriate documentation for detailed instructions.
Confirming Xerox Printer Status
1. Press the Machine Status button.
2. Select Printer Status.
3. The Print status screen displays both Media Information and
the online/offline state of the machine.
•Online: Select Online to enable the printer to accept print
jobs.
•Offline: Select Offline to prevent the printer from accepting
print data. If a print job is in process when Offline is
selected, the current job will print to completion.
Note: You must use the Web Print Management Tool to view the
print queue
Show Current Print Job
1. Press the Machine Status button.
2. Select Show Current Print Job.
3. The current print status will display.
4. Select Close to return to the Machine Status menu.

Scan
Storing the Scanned Data to a Mailbox
Selecting features
You must specify the destination of the scanned image data
before scanning can begin. Select the desired features on the
Scan tab as needed. Features such as File Format and Scan
Resolution can be selected here.
1. Press the Scan button.
2. Select the Destination.
3. Select a mailbox in which to store the image file(s).
4. Select desired Features.
Basic Scan
1. Orient the original face down, with one edge aligned with
the original guide, and then evenly inserts the lead edge
into the scanner. When the scanner detects the original
it will feed it a short distance (prefeed) and stop briefly,
then complete the scan automatically.
2. Feed in the original. The Xerox 6204 machine starts
scanning the original. The screen appears which
indicates the scanning state. When scanning is
completed, the Scan screen appears.
Scan to Print
The Scan to Print feature generates a proof print of the scanned
document
1. Select tab [2] at the right edge of the [More Features] tab to
display the [Scan to Print] feature button
2. Select [Scan to Print].
3. Select the desired option.
•Do not print image: The controller will not generate a
print of the scanned image.
•Scan image to printer: The controller will print the
scanned image.
4. Select [Save].

Delete a Document
1. Press the Scan button.
2. Select [Destination].
3. Select a mailbox, and then select Document Delete.
4. Select the file you wish to delete.
5. Select Delete.

Creating a Mailbox
1. Press the Scan button.
2. Select Destination.
3. Select a mailbox that is labeled ( ), and then select
Change/Delete.
4. Select 1. Mailbox Name.
5. Using the keyboard, enter the mailbox name. You can
enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters.
6. Select Save to return to the Destination screen, or
continue setting up the mailbox.
7. To designate a destination as the default mailbox, select
3. Default on the Change / Delete screen, select
Enabled on the Default Mailbox screen, and then
select Save.
8. Select Close on the screens that display until you return
to the Scan screen.
