Safety instructions
•During use, wear suitable protective clothing, especially protective goggles and work gloves.
•Only use the tool and its accessories properly. Improper use might lead to property damage and
personal injury.
•Before every use, check the tool for damages or wear and tear. Should you detect any of them,
the tool must not be used any longer.
•Do not try to extend the lever of the tool holders with the help of other objects (e.g., tubes).
•Always clamp the tool and work pieces firmly and securely.
•It is advisable to always use cutting oil.
•Do not recut a thread in case you do not know about its exact type and size.
•Choose the correct core hole size and bolt diameter.
•Clean the tool and its accessories after every use and remove chips with appropriate devices.
Never clean them bare-handed.
•Before use, always check the type and size of the thread.
Use
Drilling
•Use a standard drill to drill out the damaged thread. The correct drills are included up to to size
of M12 (½″).
•If using the particular spark-plug-bore drill, you will not need to pre-drill the thread. Please note
that you larger holes are required if using thread moulders.
Checking
Check the thread and pitch of the thread drill to know if they match the screw.
Thread-cutting
•With the use of the special thread drills, cut the mounting thread into the pre-drilled hole.
•It is advisable to use an appropriate cutting oil.
Installing the inset
•Set the inset on to the mounting tool and position the adjustable ring so that the pin of the
mounting tool is centred in the pin slot.
•With a slight pressure, turn the inset in down until it is half a turn beneath the surface.
•Do not turn against the direction of the thread, as the pin could break.
Removing the pin
•After finishing, lift the mounting tool and use the pin-breaking tool to remove the pin.
•When working on larger sizes or spark-plug thread, use needle-nose pliers to remove the pin.
•Thanks to the narrow and precise tolerances, the new thread is normally stronger than the old
one.
