INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the Xtreme Space Heater. Each unit has been manufactured
to ensure safely and reliability when used properly for the purpose it has been designed
for. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using any electrical appliance basic precautions should be followed. Please read
the following guidelines as they are for your benefit and safety:
Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use as described in this manual.
Make sure the power supply offers sufficient capacity for your heater.
Never obstruct or block any openings of the heater.
Use the heater only on a flat surface.
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use and for cleaning.
Do not leave the heater “ON” while unattended.
Never cover your heater when plugged in as this may lead to risk of fire.
Keep the appliance a distance of at least 3 feet from any combustible material such
as furniture, curtains, bedding, clothes, papers, rags, etc.
Do not use this heater in the immediate area of a bath, shower or other areas of
water use.
Do not allow the heater to become immersed in, or sprayed with water.
Keep this heater clean. With the heater unplugged from its power source, use a
damp cloth or sponge (not dripping) with a mild cleaning solution to remove dust,
grease and dirt from the surface of your heater. Do not use solvents to clean the
heater.
Do not allow objects to enter the ventilation opening as this may cause electric
shock, fire or damage to the heater.
Close supervision is require when any appliance is used near or by children.
Never allow the cord to touch wet or hot surfaces, become twisted or be within the
reach of children. Periodically inspect the cord for damage.
Do not use outdoors
Do not place near any area that may contain combustible fumes. This heater is not
certified for use in engine compartments and similar locations that are
exposed to fumes, condensation and standing water. Please see our line of
safe, certified engine compartment heaters at: www.xtremeheaters.com for products
appropriate for hazardous locations.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacture.
This appliance is intended for cabin, RV, household and office use only.
Make sure the power cord is placed at the back away from the front panel of the
heater.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Caution: Do not cover anything on your heater when in use.
The fan-heater must not be placed near a bath, shower, swimming-pool, hot tub or
other vessel of water.
NOTE: There are two levels of overheat protection built into your space heater. Should
the unit overheat, the first level of protection will automatically shut the heater off (If the
air vent is blocked or if the fan is not blowing air). If this occurs, turn your heater off and
unplug it from the wall for five to ten minutes to reset it. Plug the heater back in and
turn it on to resume normal operation. Ensure the heater is not covered and nothing is
obstructing any of the vents. The second form of protection is an extra “one shot” fuse
that will permanently disable the heater in the unlikely event the resettable cut-off
should fail. If the “one shot” fuse is activated, the heater must be returned to Xtreme
Heaters for service.
1. Remove the unit from the box and take off any protective wrapping.
2. Place the heater on a smooth level surface.
3. Plug your fan heater into an outlet meets the electrical requirements of the heater.
Heat output can be regulated using the switch located on the top of the heater. This
switch is used to control the three modes of operation of your heater. These modes
are:
1. Fan Only: activated by turning the dial (#1 in the diagram) to the right,
clockwise, to the first detent. This will turn on the fan for circulation, but will not
produce any heat. Note that the thermostat dial, (#2 in the diagram) must be set
to a position above the ambient temperature for the heater to run, even in fan
only mode.
2. Medium Heat: activated by turning the dial (#1) to clockwise to the next detent.
The heater will draw 750 Watts on this setting. This setting is generally enough
to maintain temperature in a living space that is already warm, while saving
energy and reducing electrical loads. It is also the setting recommended for
freeze protection, as described later in this document.
3. High Heat: activated by turning the dial (#1) to the last detent, this setting
produces full power heating (1500W), delivering rapid warming to your living
space. Once the living space becomes comfortable, we recommend reducing
the heat setting to medium to maintain comfort while saving energy.

HOW TO OPERATE

USING THE BUILT-IN THERMOSTAT
The built-in thermostat dial, (#3 in the diagram) can be used to maintain comfort, or to
prevent freezing. To maintain comfort, turn the dial as far as it will go in a clockwise
direction. Run the heater until the interior space is at a comfortable level, and then turn
the dial slowly counter-clockwise until the heater turns off. The heater should now cycle
on and off automatically to keep the ambient temperature at your desired level.
The lowest setting on the thermostat is designed for freeze prevention. When set to the
lowest setting, the heater will work to maintain 45-50 degrees in the space being
heated. It is highly recommended that the 750 watt setting be used for freeze
prevention. The heaters ability to maintain above freezing temperatures will depend on
many factors including the volume of space to be heated, insulation properties of the
space, drafts and air leaks that let heat escape and reliability of the power supply to the
heater
CLEANING YOUR FAN HEATER
1. Always disconnect the appliance from the main supply before cleaning.
2. Clean the outside of the heater by wiping with damp (not dripping) cloth or sponge.
3. Do not use solvents or harsh detergents to clean the heater. Do not let cleaning
agents or water drip into intake or exhaust vents.
SERVICE
There are no owner-serviceable parts inside of your heater. If your heater needs
service, please contact Xtreme Heaters to obtain a valid RMA number before sending it
in. Packages received without a valid RMA number will be refused. Heaters sent in for
service should be packed well to avoid damage during shipment. Xtreme Heaters is not
responsible for damage that occurs during shipping.
Before returning your heater for service, please check the following:
Is your household socket working properly? Try another appliance in the socket.
Is the heater turned on? Turn the thermostat dial clockwise until it stops.
Ensure that the plug is firmly in the socket and the circuit breaker for the outlet is
in the on position
Ensure the heater is on an even surface.
Useless electrical appliances should not be thrown away with your garbage. You should
take all useless electrical appliances to your local recycle center for safe disposal.
