1. Two-Year Limited Warranty
Subject to t e conditions of t is limited warranty, XXLTECH warrants
its customer t at t is product is free of defects in material and
workmans ip at t e time of its original purc ase for a subsequent
period of two (2) years.
In t e event t is product fails to operate under normal use, during t e
warranty period, due to defects in materials and workmans ip,
XXLTECH will, at its sole option, eit er repair or replace t e product in
accordance wit t e terms and conditions stipulated erein.
Terms and Conditions
1. If XXLTECH repairs or replaces t e product, t e repaired or replaced
product s all be warranted for t e remaining time of t e original
warranty period. No c arge will be made to t e customer for
replacement parts or labor c arges incurred by XXLTECH in repairing
or replacing t e defective parts.
2. T e customer s all ave no coverage or benefits under t is limited
warranty if any of t e following conditions are applicable:
a) T e product as been subjected to abnormal use, abnormal
conditions, improper storage, exposure to moisture or dampness,
unaut orized modifications, unaut orized repair, misuse, neglect,

abuse, accident, alteration, improper installation, or ot er acts
w ic are not t e fault of XXLTECH, including damage caused by
s ipping.
b) T e Product as been damaged from external causes suc as
collision wit an object, or from fire, flooding, sand, dirt, windstorm,
lig tning, eart quake or damage from exposure to weat er
conditions, an Act of God, or battery leakage, t eft, blown fuse,
improper use of any electrical source, or t e product was used in
combination or connection wit ot er product, attac ments,
supplies or consumables not manufactured or distributed by
XXLTECH.
3. T e customer s all bear t e cost of s ipping t e product to
XXLTECH. And XXLTECH s all bear t e cost of s ipping t e product
back to t e customer after t e completion of service under t is limited
warranty.
4. XXLTECH does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of
t e product. If a problem develops during t e limited warranty period,
t e consumer s all take t e following step-by-step procedure:
a) T e customer s all return t e product to t e place of purc ase for
repair or replacement processing, contact your local XXLTECH
distributor to get furt er information.

b) T e customer s all include a return address, daytime p one number
and/or fax number, complete description of t e problem and original
invoice specifying date of purc ase and serial number.
c) T e customer will be billed for any parts or labor c arges not
covered by t is limited warranty.
d) XXLTECH will repair t e Product under t e limited warranty wit in
30 days after receipt of t e product. If XXLTECH cannot perform
repairs covered under t is limited warranty wit in 30 days, or after a
reasonable number of attempts to repair t e same defect,
XXLTECH at its option, will provide a replacement product or refund
t e purc ase price of t e product less a reasonable amount for
usage.
e) If t e product is returned during t e limited warranty period, but t e
problem wit t e product is not covered under t e terms and
conditions of t is limited warranty, t e customer will be notified and
given an estimate of t e c arges t e customer must pay to ave t e
product repaired, wit all s ipping c arges billed to t e customer. If
t e estimate is refused, t e product will be returned freig t collect. If
t e product is returned after t e expiration of t e limited warranty
period, XXLTECH’s normal service policies s all apply and t e
customer will be responsible for all s ipping c arges.
5. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS

FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE, SHALL BE LIMITED TO
THE DURATION OF THE FOREGOING LIMITED WRITTEN
WARRANTY. OTHERWISE, THE FOREGOING LIMITED WARRANTY
IS THE CONSUMER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND IS IN
LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
XXLTECH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL,
PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO LOSS OF ANTICIPATED BENEFITS OR PROFITS,
LOSS OF SAVINGS OR REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, PUNITIVE
DAMAGES, LOSS OF USE OF THE PRODUCT OR ANY
ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, COST OF CAPITAL, COST OF ANY
SUBSTITUTE EQUIPMENT OR FACILITIES, DOWNTIME, THE
CLAIMS OF ANY THIRD PARTIES, INCLUDING CUSTOMERS, AND
INJURY TO PROPERTY, RESULTING FROM THE PURCHASE OR
USE OF THE PRODUCT OR ARISING FROM BREACH OF THE
WARRANTY, BREACH OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT
TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, EVEN IF
XXLTECH KNEW OF THE LIKELIHOOD OF SUCH DAMAGES.
XXLTECH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DELAY IN RENDERING
SERVICE UNDER THE LIMITED WARRANTY, OR LOSS OF USE
DURING THE PERIOD THAT THE PRODUCT IS BEING REPAIRED.

2. Safety Information
For your safety, and to prevent damage to t e equipment and ve icles,
read t is manual t oroug ly before operating your EPB400 EPB
service tool. T e safety messages presented below and t roug out t is
user’s manual are reminders to t e operator to exercise extreme care
w en using t is device. Always refer to and follow safety messages
and test procedures provided by t e manufacturer of t e ve icle or
equipment being tested. Read, understand and follow all safety
messages and instructions in t is manual.
2.1 Conventions Used
We provide safety messages to elp prevent personal injury and
equipment damage. Below are signal words we used to indicate t e
azard level in a condition.

2.2 Important Safety Instructions
And always use your EPB service tool as described in t e user’s
manual, and follow all safety messages.
Do not route t e test cable in a manner t at would interfere
wit driving controls.
Do not exceed voltage limits between inputs specified in t is
user’s manual.
Always wear ANSI approved goggles to protect your eyes
from propelled objects as well as ot or caustic liquids.
Fuel, oil vapors, ot steam, ot toxic ex aust gases, acid,
refrigerant and ot er debris produced by a malfunction engine can
cause serious injury or deat . Do not use EPB service tool in areas
w ere explosive vapor may collect, suc as in below-ground pits,
confined areas, or areas t at are less t an 18 inc es (45 cm) above t e
floor.
Do not smoke, strike a matc , or cause a spark near t e
ve icle w ile testing and keep all sparks, eated items and open
flames away from t e battery and fuel / fuel vapors as t ey are ig ly
flammable.
Keep a dry c emical fire extinguis er suitable for gasoline,
c emical and electrical fires in work area.

Always be aware of rotating parts t at move at ig speed
w en an engine is running and keep a safe distance from t ese parts
as well as ot er potentially moving objects to avoid serious injury.
Do not touc engine components t at get very ot w en an
engine is running to avoid severe burns.
Block drive w eels before testing wit engine running. Put
t e transmission in park (for automatic transmission) or neutral (for
manual transmission). And never leave a running engine unattended.
Do not wear jewelry or loose fitting clot ing w en working on
engine.
Make sure to turn off ignition before connecting or
disconnecting t e EPB service tool.

EPB400 Electric Parking Brake Service Tool is developed by t e most
distinguis ed mind of t e industry. It is specially designed to work wit
Mercedes Benz E211/E219 (up to 2006), R230 and S221 (up to 2007)
models, Volkswagen Passat (2005-on), Audi A5 (2007-on), Audi A6/A8
(2004-on), Volvo XC70 (2008-2009), XC60 (2009), V70 (2008-2009),
S80 (2007-2009), Ford Focus C-MAX (2002, 2007), LS (2003-2006).
4.1 Data Link Connector
T e Data Link Connector (DLC) is a standard 16-pin interface located
under t e das board on t e driver's side of t e passenger
compartment. If t e DLC is not located under t e das board as stated,
a decal describing its location s ould be attac ed to t e das board in
t e area t e DLC s ould ave been located.
