Beforeplaying
Insertingbatteries
Removethebatterycompartmentcover
onthe bottom of the instrumentand
insertsix1.5VSUM-1,"D"size,R-20,or
equivalentalkaline batteries(sold
separately),makingsurethatthe
polaritiesareplacedasdirectedinside
the compartment.Replacethe cover,
ensuringthat itlockssecurelyinplace.
Optionalpoweradaptors
Householdcurrent:PowerAdaptorPA-4/
PA-40orPA-1isavailablefor household
current.Nootheradaptorisusable,so
whenyou purchasea power adaptor
pleaseensure that itismodelPA-4/PA-40
or PA-1.
CarBattery:CarBatteryAdaptorCA-1
plugsintoa car cigarette lightersocket.
Attaching themusicstand
Themusicstandisstored ontheunder-
sideofthekeyboard.
•Toremovethemusicstand,turnthe
keyboardoverthenslidetheplastic
platetowards you (seefigure).Donot
try to removethemusicstand bylift-
ingupthemetalframe.
•Putthe keyboardthe rightway up,and
inserttheendofthemusicstandfirm-
lyintothe two holesatthe backofthe
instrument.
•Finally,lowertheplasticplatesothat
itrests onthekeyboard.

START/STOPselector
First,"ToySymphony"willstartto playas
soon asyoupressthisselector,followed
bythe otherpiecesofmusic.
Theeightpiecesof musicwillbe
repeatedautomatically.
Tostopthemusic,pressthe
DEMONSTRATIONSTART/STOP
selectoragain.
Toplaybacka particularpieceofmusic,
first pressthe keythatcorrespondsto
themusicyouwant tohear,thenpress
the DEMONSTRATIONSTART/STOP
selector.Themusicwillbeplayedback
onceonly.
Youcanchangetheprogrammedvoice,
rhythmandtempoasyoulike.
However,youshouldn'tswitchfrom a
4-Beatto a 3-Beatrhythm,orvice
versa,sincethebeatsdonotmatch.

abovethe OrchestraVoice Selectors,
DOWNfor the16voices listedbelowthe
Orchestra Voice Selectors).Thenpress
the Orchestra Voice Selector15 for the
desiredvoice intheselected bank.
•When youturn the keyboardON,the
BRASS 1 voice will automaticallybe
selected iftheOrchestra BankSelector
14issettotheUPposition,andthe
BRASS 2 voice willbeselectedifthe
OrchestraBankSelectorissetto the
DOWNposition.
Notes:
1. Vibrato is automaticaly applied to voices which
benefit from application of this effect.
2. Be sure to set the Auto Bass Chord MODE selec-
tor 6 to the OFF position. When the selector is
set to the SINGLE FINGER or FINGERED posi-
tion, the keys in the Auto Bass Chord key section
7cannot be used for melody playing.

Note:
Up to nine notes can be played at the same time
except when the Auto Bass Chord and Rhythm
section areused. For example, you can
simultaneously play up to live notes tor the melody
when using Auto Bass Chord, six notes with the
Rhythm section, and two notes when both of these
functions are used.

Picktherhythm that bestsuitsthe music
you'regoingtoplayand presstherelevant
RHYTHM selector
When youturnthe keyboardON,the
BIGBAND rhythm isautomatically
selected.
2. Start therhythm
Afterselectinga rhythm,presstheSTART
selector
SynchroStart
UsetheSYNCHRO STARTselector
if
you want the rhythmto beginfrom the
momentyoufirst pressa key.Anyof
the19 keys(upto
)beginningatthe
left of the keyboardwillactivatethe
