UsingtheComputerKeyboard
Mouse-EquivalentKeys
AlthoughtheMouse isgenerallyrecommended foroperation oftheMIDIRecorder, allfunctionscan
becarriedoutdirectlyfromthecomputerkeyboard.Therearealso averyfewfunctions forwhich
keyboardentryistheeasiestandmostappropriatemethod.
Whenusingthekeyboard,thecursorkeys(theright, left,upanddownarrowkeys)areusedtoposition
theredcursorarrowonthescreen.TheSELEZT1keyintheblock ofkeysabovethecursorkeys is
equivalenttothe leftmousebutton.To testthis.usethecursorkeys tomovethearrow totheAUTO
RECORDmodesector (atleastpartofthearrow mostlogicallythepoint mustbeinsidetheAUTO
RECORDsector).Nowpressthe ISELECTIkey.TheAUTORECORDsectorshouldhaveturnedblue,
indicatingthat it isselected,andablockofparameterspertainingtotheAUTORECORDmodeshould

VoiceChanges
TheMIDIRecorder willacceptvoicechanges.Note,however,thatwhentherecording isplayedback,
itwillbeginwiththeLASTvoicethekeyboardwassetto,becausetherecordingdoesnotcontainany
voicecommand atthebeginning ofthetrack.Onewayaround this is tohaveaonemeasurerest at
thestartofyourperformance,duringwhichyoupressthevoicekey,thusrecordingavoicecommand
which willswitchthekeyboard tothecorrectvoiceforthestartofthepiece. It isalsopossibletoenter
avoicechangecommand(simplypresstheappropriatevoiceselectorontherecordingkeyboard)
duringthe2-barcount-in priortorecording.
Whenusingabasicsinglekeyboardsetup,youcanevenrecordatrackwithnovoicechanges,then
recordanothertrackwhichcontainsonlyvoicechanges.Onplaybackthesevoicechangeswilloperate,
andastheyareseparatefromthemusictrack,theycan ofcoursebechangedbyre-recordingatany
time.
Whenusingmorethanonekeyboard (forexample,witheachtrackcontrollingaTX7module)theabove
