Beforeconfiguration,it’snecessarytoconnecttheIPMODEMwiththeconfigurePCbythe
shippedRS232 orRS232-485 conversioncableasfollowing.
3.2ConfigurationIntroduction
TherearetwowaystoconfiguretheIPMODEM:
Configuration softwaretool: Allthesettingsareconfiguredthrough theshippedsoftwaretool.
It’snecessarytohaveonePCtorunthistool.
ExtendedATcommand:All thesettingsareconfiguredthroughATcommand,soanydevice
withserialportcanconfigureit.BeforeconfigurationwithextendedATcommand,youshould
makeIPMODEMenterconfigurestate.ThestepshowtomakeIPMODEMenterconfigure
state, pleaserefertoappendix.
ThefollowingdescribeshowtoconfigureIPMODEMwiththeconfiguresoftwaretool.Atthe
sametime,it givesoutthecorresponding ATcommandofeachconfigurationitem.

3.3RuntheconfigureTool:IPModemConfigure.exe
The “SerialParameters”column showsthecurrentserialportsettings.ToconfigureIP
MODEM, pleasechoosethecorrectserialportwhichconnectstoIPMODEM, and thebaudrateis
115200 withnoparity, thenopentheserialport. Ifthebuttontextis “Close”, it showstheserial
portnowhasbeenopened. Ifthetextis “Open”, youshouldopentheportfirst.Whentheport
opened, the “OutputInfo”column will display
“Port(COM1)HasOpened,PleaseRe-PowertheIPMODEM,
Waiting IPMODEMEnterConfigureState...”

AfterRe-powerIPMODEM,Theconfiguretoolwill makeit enterconfigurestate.Atthe
sametime,thesoftwarewill loadcurrentsettingsfromIPMODEMand displaysontheright
configurecolumns. It’snowreadytoconfigure.

Mainand Backup:IPMODEMalwaystriestoconnectwiththeMainDSC.Iffailstoconnect
withMainDSC, it will connectwithBackup DSCatonce
Note IfnoBackupDSCexists, pleaseconfiguretheBackupDSCsameasMainDSC.
Multi DataService Center:IPMODEMcanconnectwithatmostfiveDSCatthesametime.
All themultiDSCcanreceivethesameapplicationdata.
