Quick Start Guide
Smart Switch

Introducon
Smart Switch is an outdoor plug. With independent control of 2 smart outlets, you can easily control
lights and home electric devices via YoLink App on your iOS or Android devices, as well as popular
voice assistants and 3rd-party automaon apps such as IFTTT

Set up
Set up - First-Time YoLink Users (Exisng users proceed to Add device, next page)

Follow the steps below to set up your Smart Switch via the YoLink app
Download YoLink app through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Log in or create a new account if required
Download, and log
in to YoLink app

YoLink Hub is required to set up your Smart Switch. Please set up your YoLink Hub first (refer
to YoLink Hub manual)
* Ethernet patch cable (included) to your network
(router, switch, etc.), recommended, but oponal.
Otherwise connect your Hub to your home Wi-Fi
network. Refer to the Hub set up manual for more
informaon:

One mer will run only once. You can set a new mer aer the mer has already run or once you
cancel it

Schedule

Create on/off schedules to automate your plugged-in devices to work around your home and work
schedules
Note
You can have a maximum 10 schedules at one me
You may add as many schedules as you want in Automaon sengs. Automaon sengs are saved
in the cloud

Scene
Set one-click control for mulple devices in your YoLink app. You can only run a scene via your
YoLink app
Go to “Smart”, tap “Scene” followed by the “ ” icon to add a scene
Fill in details followed by the “ ” icon

Connect YoLink with third-party voice assistants ser vice to control or monitor the status of
your devices through voice commands

About YoLink Control
YoLink Control is our unique device-to-device control technology. Using YoLink Control, YoLink
devices can be controlled without the Hub or an internet connecon. (Use of YoLink Control is
oponal; you can use the Automaon feature in the app OR use YoLink Control, but YoLink
Control offers the benefit of operaon without the Hub or internet connecon.)
One device controls another, directly. A device that sends out commands is called the controller. A
device that receives the commands is called the responder. Examples of a controller are a Door
Sensor or Smart Switch, while examples of a responder are another Smart Switch or a YoLink Plug

Upon pairing, the LED will stop blinking (this may happen aer only blinking two or three mes)
To configure a as the responder n on the plug using YoLink Plug Mini . Tur POWER buon or
via YoLink app Mini (verify the Status LED of YoLink Plug displays blue). Press and hold the
POWER buon for 5-10 seconds unl the LED quickly blinks blue
Pairing

Note
If you want to turn off the YoLink Plug when the smart switch is all on, turn off the YoLink Mini
Plug first, and let it enter pairing mode Mini
For the same and YoLink Plug , you can only choose to either turn on or Smart Switch Mini
turn off the YoLink Plug when the smart switch is all on Mini
If you want to turn on or off the Min i when the , YoLink Plug smart switch is all off turn the
smart switch into all off status (verify the power status LED displays red), and let the all
off enter pairing modesmart switch
Also for the same and YoLink Plug , you can only choose to either turn Smart Switch Mini
on or turn off the YoLink Plug when the smart switch is all off Mini

will remain turned on unl turned off using the POWER buon or via the app
More advanced sequences, controlling mulple outputs (e.g. turn off plug) are available via
the YoLink app

Unpairing
At the Smart Switch (controller), press and hold the POWER buon for 10-15 seconds unl
the LED quickly blinks green, then red
Upon un-pairing, either the Smart Switch LED or the YoLink Plug Mini LED will stop blinking and
return to the previous color (Smart Switch: green for turned on, red for turned of, YoLink Plug
Mini: rned on, red for turned off)blue for tu
At the YoLink Plug Mini (responder), press and hold the POWER buon for 10-15 seconds,
unl the LED quickly blinks blue, then red
The YoLink Plug Mini will no longer respond when the Smart Switch is all on

Maintenance
Firmware Update
To ensure our customers have the best user experience,
we highly recommend you update to the newest version
firmware when an update is available
In “Firmware”, if a new version is listed as available (####
ready now), click it to start the firmware update process
You may use your device during the update as it is
performed in the background. The LED light will slowly
blink green during the update and the process will be
complete within 2 minutes aer the light stops blinking
