Button Functions

Use this button to select different options
in the menu. In recording mode use to lock
a video clip, in standby mode use to view
recorded videos.

Charging
This device can be charged using the DC car charging
cable or USB/data cable connected to a USB terminal
on a computer. It is recommended to turn on the
“Loop Recording” (5 minutes is recommended). When
the vehicle is turned on, the Dash Camera will
au
automatically start video recording.
When the vehicle engine is turned off, the data will be
saved, and the device will shut down
automatically. NOTE: some vehicles have power to the
12V socket while turned off. On these vehicles the
camera will not automatically shut off.
Caution
OOnly the provided DC car charger, with the output of
5V 1A, can be used for this GPS DASH CAMERA.

Getting Started
Insert the memory card as shown below.
Push the memory card until it clicks into place.
To remove the memory card, push the memory card again and
it will eject from the camera.

NOTE: when installing a memory card, you may get a warning that
says MEMORY ERROR.This is OK, you simply need to format the card
from the SETTINGS MENU.
Formatting
After you insert the memory card, power on the camera and Press
MODE. Press the DOWN ARROW button to select the SETUP icon and
then press OK. Press DOWN until you select FORMAT and press OK.

Select TF CARD and press OK.
Your Camera is now ready to record.

Connecting to Power
Use the DC car adapter to power up the device
and charge the built-in battery.
Connect one end of the car adapter to the USB
connector of the DVR.
Plug the other end of the

12volt socket in your vehicle. Once the engine
is started, the DVR powers on automatically
and starts recording. Recording will stop when
the car shuts off and 12V power is cut.
The yellow LED will light up while
the battery is charging.

Mounting
Attach the bracket to the device. Slide it into
the bracket holder until you hear a click.
With the suction-cup lying at, position the
mount on the windshield. Loosen the knob to
swivel the camera.
Tighten the knob to make sure the device
is securely locked in place.

Set the Date and Time
To set the date and time, do the following in
standby window:
1. If you are recording press OK to stop
2. Press MODE button to enter the menu.
3. Press DOWN to select the SETUP icon and press OK.
4.
4. Use the DOWN and UP buttons to
select Date/Time setup
5. Press [OK] to enter Date and Time.
6. Press [OK] and use UP and DOWN ARROWS to
change the digits. Press [OK] again to move to anoth-
er digit.
7. Press MODE again to exit.

Powering your Dash Cam On / Off
Auto Power On/Off
When your vehicle is started, the camera
automatically turns on and starts recording.
Once the vehicle shuts down, the camera
automatically saves the recording.

After 5 seconds the camera will shut off.
(For this to work your 12v socket must be active
upon ignition)
Manual Power On/Off
To manually turn on the power, hold the
POWER button for 2 seconds.
Initial Settings
BBefore use, set the correct date and time.

Recording Video
Press the [OK] button to start or stop recording.
A video le is saved for every 3,5 or
10 minutes of recording, this setting can be
adjusted in the menu. To adjust this setting:
1. If you are recording press OK to stop.
2.
2. Press [MODE] button to enter the menu.
3. Select Video Settings icon and press OK.
4. Press DOWN button to select Loop Recording.
5. Press [OK] button.
6. Use UP and DOWN to select between off, 3, 5 or 10
MIN. (We recommend 3 or 5 MIN) If the memory card
c
capacity is full, the oldest le in the memory card is
overwritten.
Press OK to select. Press MODE twice to exit.

Using your Dash Cam
Emergency Recording
While Recording, press DOWN to enter emergency
recording mode a KEY [ ] icon will appear at the
top center of the screen. The current le is protected.
To stop emergency mode, press DOWN again.

If the G-Sensor is on and a collision is detected, the
device will trigger emergency recording.
To enable G Sensor Recording
1. If you are recording, stop recording by pressing OK
2. Press MODE to enter the menu.
3. Press OK Select Video Setup.
4. Press DOWN until you select GSENSOR SET
5.
5. Press OK to enter this menu, use UP and DOWN to
select sensitivity. Press OK to save. Press MODE to
exit.
NOTE:
The emergency le is protected from overwriting by
normal recording. If emergency les exceed 25% of
the card, the oldest emergency les will be deleted.

Taking Photographs
From standby screen, hold MODE to enter
Photo Mode. Press OK to take a photo.
Remaining photos that can be taken

Playback Videos
From the Video Standby Screen, press DOWN to
enter the video playback menu.
Press UP and DOWN to browse video les and
press OK to play the selected video. Press OK
again to pause playback.
H
Hold UP or DOWN to adjust volume.
Press UP or DOWN to fast forward and rewind.
Press MODE to stop and return to video
playback menu.

Viewing photos
From the PHOTO standby scren, Press DOWN to enter
into photo list
Press the UP and DOWN to highlight picture and press the OK
to select.

Press UP or DOWN to slide to the previous or next photo.
Press MODE button to return to photo list.
To delete or protect les, do the following:
From the video-standby or photo-standby window
Press DOWN to enter into video or photo list
Press UP and DOWN to select le.
Press OK to open video.

Hold MODE button for 2 seconds.
Press UP and DOWN to select DELETE of PROTECT and press
OK to delete.
Choose from “Delete this le” and “Delete all les”.

For Night Time Recording
The zBlackBox-HD2 has a low light sensor that
records a brilliant picture during day or night
The camera also can utilize a feature called
WDR (Wide Dynamic Range.) for better night
time recording.

To turn on WDR:
1. If you are recording, press OK to STOP.
2. Press MODE button to enter the menu.
3. Press OK to enter VIDEO SETTINGS.
4. Press DOWN to select WDR
5. Press OK.
6. Use UP and DOWN to select ON or OFF
7.
7. Press OK to select. Press MODE to exit.
