A. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Install this device only when it complies with local/national legislation, by-laws and
standards.
This product is intended to be used for room heating in residential houses and is
only suitable for use in dry locations, indoors in living room, kitchen and garage.
Correct installation of this stove is extremely important for product performance
and your personal safety. Therefore:
• This heater must be installed by a by Zibro authorized heating and installa-
tion engineer. The warranty can only be effective when it is installed by a by
Zibro agreed professional. The instructions for use given in this manual may
vary from local and/or regional legislation. When this is the case the most
stringent condition is applicable. Any responsibility in cases of installation
not complying to local legislation and regulation and/or in case of incorrect
air ventilation and/or inappropriate use is explicitly declined by the manu-
facturer and distributor.
• The stove must only be installed in a room where the location, the building
construction and the use of the room do not interfere with safe operation
of the stove.
Always contact your dealer or installer immediately in case you experience problems
with your stove or when you have difculty reading or understanding this manual.
Burning wood needs oxygen, thus air. Ensure to allow sufcient fresh air to enter
the room. Per hour an additional 50 m3air is needed above the normal ventilation
requirement for the room. Always have a fresh air inlet to the room with a section
of at least a quarter of the section of the exhaust flue, with a minimum of 100 cm2.
It might be necessary to shut off mechanical ventilation and/or kitchen extraction
hoods as this might negatively inuence the draught needed for the stove.
• Use proper equipment to transport the stove. Using not adequate equip-
ment might lead to personal injuries and/or damage to the stove.
• Do not place any inammable objects and/or materials within 80 cm. of the
sides and back of the stove and not within 100 cm to the front of the stove.
• The stove is designed for free standing and is not suitable for build-in. Keep
30 cm clearance between walls and side/back of the stove.
• When the oor is made of inammable material, place the stove on a re
proof base plate. The covered area by the re proof base plate needs to be
50 cm. larger to the front of the unit and needs to be 30 cm. larger measured
from the sides of the unit (see picture 1, dimensions D and E)
• In case the walls are made out of inammable materials make sure to have
sufficient distance from side/back of stove to the wall. Make sure that even
at highest stoking rate the wall temperature can never exceed 80°C. In case
of doubt a fire proof protective plate must be placed.

• The surface of the stove can become very hot when in use. NEVER leave child-
ren unattended with the stove. Children should be supervised to ensure they
do not play with the stove.
• This stove is not intended for use by person (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• The surface of the stove can become very hot when in use. Use appropriate
-heat proof- personal protection such as gloves when operating the stove.
• Take care with inammable clothes, as clothes might catch re when in close
range with the fire inside the stove.
• Do not work with inammable solvents in the same room as where the stove
is working. Avoid risk, remove inflammable solvents and combustible materi-
als from the room.
• The stove is heavy, have the strength of the oor checked by an authorized
expert.
• Bad, wet, impregnated or painted rewood will lead to formation of con-
densation and/or soot in the chimney or in the re place itself. Resulting in
lower performance and possible dangerous situations. Follow the require-
ments as set out in chapter D3.
• Have the chimney cleaned and swept regularly following the local legislation
and or your insurance prescription. If no local legislation and/or insurance
prescription: make sure that at least twice per year (rst time at the begin-
ning of the heating season), your entire stove system -including chimney- is
checked and maintained by an authorized specialist. When intensively using
the stove the whole system including the chimney must be cleaned more fre-
quently.
• Do not use the stove as a barbeque.
• Only connect one woodstove per chimney ue.
• Always be in compliance with the instructions of the local re department.
• Do not use - wood work scraps with glues and/or solvents, - waste wood in
general, - cardboard (for start up purposes a minimum of paper may be used
only during the starting phase).
• Do not use liquid fuel, alcohol, petrol, gasoline etc.
• Do not burn waste materials or rubbish in the stove
This stove also requires an electrical power input. Please carefully read the below
warnings and remarks:
• Do not use a damaged power cable.
• Do not clamp or bend the cable.
• Make sure the power cable does not touch any hot parts of the stove
• Do not use an extension cord.
• Check the mains voltage. This device is suitable exclusively for earthed soc-
kets – connection voltage 230 Volt/ ~50 Hz.
• The device MUST always have an earthed connection. You may absolutely
not connect the device if the power supply is not earthed.
• The plug must always be easily accessible when the device is connected.
Before connecting the device, check that:

• The connection voltage corresponds to that on the type plate.
• The socket and power supply are suitable for the device.
• The plug on the cable ts the socket.
• Have the electrical installation checked by a recognised expert if you are not
sure that everything is in order.
• Never cover the air inlets and outlets.
• Do not insert objects into the openings of the device.
• Never allow the device to come into contact with water. Do not spray the
device with water or submerge it as this may cause a short circuit.
• Always take the plug out of the socket before cleaning or replacing the de-
vice or a part of the device.
• Always take the plug out of the socket before operating any maintenance
to the stove.
• NEVER connect the device with the aid of an extension cable. If a suitable,
earthed socket is not available, have one tted by a recognised electrician.
• Always take the plug out of the socket when the device is not in use.
• A damaged electricity cable may only be replaced by the supplier or an aut-
horised person/service point.
A.1 EMERGENCY STOP OF THE STOVE
In case of emergency: Never use water to stop the re. Use a CO2(carbon dioxide)
re extinguisher or call the re brigade. In case of chimney re also close the chim-
ney damper (if mounted).
A.2 NORMAL STOP OF THE STOVE
The normal stop of the stove is by having the wood completely burnt, the re will
than automatically extinguish.
B. INSTALLATION OF THE STOVE AND THE FLUE
The ue/chimney arrangement is very important for the correct and safe use of
the stove. Therefore the installation of the whole system (stove + chimney/ue) or
parts of it must only be done by specialised, authorised engineers. Refer to instal-
lation manual
The ue/chimney must be kept clean at all times as soot deposits or not burnt resi-
dues may reduce its opening. Culmination of soot deposits or residues might even
catch re leading to dangerous situations. Have the chimney cleaned and swept
following the local legislation and/or your insurance company instructions. If no lo-

cal legislation and/or insurance company instructions: make sure that at least once
per year at the beginning of the heating season your entire stove system -including
chimney- is checked and maintained by an authorized specialist. When intensively
using the stove the chimney must be cleaned more frequently.
C. FIRST START UP
After completion of new building or refurbishment: have the building dried ex-
tensively before using the stove for the  rst time. Walls, ceilings and/or  oors are
known for its long time before they are completely dry. Soot, ash parts etc might
easily stick to not completely dried walls.
The stove is made out of high quality steel protected with a coating. During  rst
heating cycles the coating will harden and the steel will set itself. This process takes
some time. In order to prevent permanent damage to the stove this initial stoking
up must be done gradually and at low  re. Keep this low  re for the  rst four to
 ve hours after which the capacity gradually can be increased. Keep the stove con-
tinuously burning for at least another three to four hours. During  rst operation
it is normal that an unpleasant though non harmful odour will be produced. The
above described procedure must be followed for at least the first four times the
stove is used.
D. NORMAL OPERATION OF THE STOVE
To start the stove:
Fully open the door and the primary inlet valve (see picture 2) by turning the valve
to “+”. Place and lit some crumpled paper or fire lighter sticks (fire starter sticks)
in the  re bed together with some small size dry  re wood (for fuel requirements:
see Chapter D.3)
The  ame and performance of the stove can be controlled by moving the primary
air inlet valve simply follow the + and – signs (see picture 2).
When starting the  re the chimney and exhaust  ue is still cold, due to which there
will only be little draught. Create enough start up draught by keeping the ash pan
(little), the stove charging door (little) and the primary air inlet (maximum) open
during the first eight to ten minutes.
After these eight to ten minutes the fire will burn more extensive, now place big-
ger fire wood. Close ash pan and stove charging door to a minimum.
GBefore starting the stove remove all items such as manual paperwork,
gloves (if applicable), stove tool etc. from the fire hearth / fire bed.
Make sure to ventilate the room suf ciently.
DO NOT use liquid fuel, such as for example alcohol, petrol, gasoline etc to
start the fire.

After another 10 minutes close the charging door completely. Check the  re. Now
close the primary air inlet valve to minimal whilst still ensuring good burning  re
(see chapter D.1.1.).
D.1 HOW TO RECOGNIZE A CORRECT AND INCORRECT BURNING STOVE
D.1.1 Correct burning stove
How can a correct burning stove be recognized:
• the  ames are moving calm
• the wood is burnt evenly
• after the stove is in operation for more than approximately 30 minutes the
smoke should nearly be translucent.
D.1.2 Incorrect burning stove
How can an incorrect burning stove be recognized:
• smothery  ames
• extensive smoke production
• soot covering the window pane
D.2 REFILLING THE STOVE
How can an incorrect burning stove be recognized:
• shake the ash grid using the de-ashing mechanim (see picture 3).
• open the charging door using a heat protection glove (not delivered with
the stove)
• place new dry  re wood. Max 2 pieces per re lling cycle. Only  ll the stove
with a single layer of wood.
• close the charging door
• keep the charging door open for shortest possible time.
Avoid operating the stove at windless weather and foggy/misty weather. At these
weather conditions it is possible there will not be enough draught to properly,
safely and ef ciently operate the stove. It might result in exhaust gasses entering
the room and/or lead to other inconveniences, maybe even outside your premises.
Overheating the stove can cause damage to stove and its surroundings. Overhea-
ting the stove is normally caused by too much wood load and/or too much primary
air inlet. Never overheat the stove.
GDURING NORMAL OPERATION:
• The primary air inlet valve must be kept to a minimum –whilst still ensu-
ring a good burning fire-, this will ensure that the burning process is as
clean as possible and the ef ciency is as high as possible.
• The capacity and ef ciency of the stove varies with the kind of wood as
well as with the wood load.
• The capacity of the stove can best be controlled by varying the wood load
Make sure to ventilate the room suf ciently.

The stove is designed for normal operation with closed charging door. The safe
operation and optimal efciency can only be reached with a closed charging door.
Keeping the charging door closed will also prevent burning or hot particles from
leaving the stove.
D.3 REQUIREMENTS TO THE FUEL
• Only use rewood and its derivates such as wood coal or compressed saw-
dust with less than 20% moisture content. Do not use fresh, recently chop-
ped wood. Not properly dried wood will cause creosote, more soot, more
pollution and result in lower efciency. Wood is considered to be dry when
stored for a minimum of 2 years in a dry, well ventilated environment.
• Use rewood of max. 25-28 cm. length and a diameter of maximum 20 cm.
• To protect the environment and the complete stove system, do not use:
- wood work scraps with glues and/or solvents, - waste wood in general,
- cardboard (for start up purposes a minimum of paper may be used only
during the starting phase), -painted or impregnated wood, -bonded wood
(such chipboard, hardboard, MDF), synthetic bers.
• Do not use liquid fuel, alcohol, petrol, gasoline etc.
• Do not use the stove as a burner for waste materials.
D.4 ROOM AIR CIRCULATION
This stove is provided with a room air circulation fan. When the fan is switched on
the room air is drawn across the internal hot surfaces of the stove and due to this
warmed up.
The room air circulation fan is on/off controlled by the room air circulation switch,
see picture 4. When the room air circulation fan is switched off the wood load (fire)
must be kept to a minimum.
GThe performance of the stove is best using strong, harder wood such as
oak, beech, ash and elm. Soft woods like pine tree, poplar and linden will
result in less performance and possible more residue and soot.

E. MAINTENANCE
The heat, ash and residue produced by the combustion of the re wood makes
regular cleaning and maintenance by both the end user as well as an authorized
technician necessary. Periodically carefully cleaning the stove is important for safe-
ty, efcient operation and -in the same time- increasing the life time of the stove.
Do not use steel wool, hydrogen chloride or other corrosive, aggressive or scrat-
ching products to clean neither the internal nor the external surface of the stove.

Before starting executing maintenance or cleaning make sure the fire has
extinguished completely and that any hot surfaces are cooled down suf-
ciently.
• Failing to observe the maintenance procedures can result in personal
injuries, operating malfunctions and irreparable damage to the stove and
building.
• The ue/chimney must be kept clean at all times as soot deposits or not
burnt residues may reduce its opening. Culmination of soot deposits or
residues might even catch fire leading to dangerous situations.
• Have the chimney cleaned and swept by an authorised specialist following
the local legislation and/or your insurance company prescription. In absen-
ce of such local legislation and/or insurance prescription: make sure that
at least twice per year (rst time at the beginning of the heating season),
your entire stove system -including chimney- is checked and maintained
by an authorized specialist. When intensively using the stove the whole
system including the chimney must be cleaned more frequently.
