1.0 Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing your new Zigo® Leader™!
The Leader
TM
The LeaderTM
The Leader
is the fi rst mom- or dad-powered family transportation vehicle! Its
cutting edge design combines unparalleled functionality with ease of use, safety,
and comfort.
The Leader
TM
The LeaderTM
The Leader
allows parents and caregivers to take one or two children out for a
ride in Carrier Bicycle Mode, or uncouple the vehicle into its separate elements,
the ChildPod
®
and Cycle. The ChildPod
®
with its Caster Wheels down operates as
a typical stroller. It can also convert into a jogging stroller or a bicycle trailer with
the optional Zigo® Jogger or Trailer Kit.
The Leader™ operates in the following modes:
• Carrier Bicycle
• Stroller
• Cycle
• Jogger (Jogger Kit required)
• Trailer (Trailer Kit required)
Shipped in two boxes, the Leader™ can be assembled out-of-the-box in ten
minutes or less using only the tools included. Attach the Cycle handlebars,
unfold the Cycle pedals, couple the Cycle to the ChildPod®, and you’re ready to
start riding! The Zigo® Leader™ is shipped with two Manuals: this
Assembly and
Assembly and
Operations Manual
Operations Manual
and a
Bicycle Owner’s Manual.
Bicycle Owner’s Manual.
Read both Manuals prior to use
We have made every eff ort to make your Zigo® experience a fun and safe one. Be
sure to review this Assembly and Operations Manual and the enclosed Bicycle
Owner’s Manual thoroughly and completely to understand vehicle operation and
safety. In Carrier Bicycle Mode, the Zigo
®
Leader™ is a tricycle, not a bicycle, and
as such, requires specifi c knowledge regarding its handling.
Read both Manuals in their entirety before using your Leader™ for the fi rst time;
then take the Leader™ for a test ride to learn its performance capabilities before
using it with your children. Pick a controlled environment, away from cars, other
cyclists, obstacles or other hazards.
READ THE MANUALS. Save both Manuals for future reference.

Intended use
The Zigo® Leader™ is designed for use in daylight hours on sidewalks, lightly
traffi cked public roads, and smooth bike paths. If you choose to use your
Leader™
in the evening, nighttime, or other circumstances of poor visibility, you
are advised to purchase and use an accessory lighting system.

2.2 Recommended activities involving children
Carrier Bicycle Mode and Trailer Mode
Before riding the Leader™ in Carrier Bicycle Mode or using the ChildPod® in Trailer
Mode, it is highly recommended that your child be over twelve months of age,
able to sit in an upright position and hold his or her head steady, and properly
fi tted with a toddler helmet.
Jogger Mode
When used in conjunction with an approved infant carrier, you can start jogging
on smooth surfaces when your child is six months old. If your child is able to sit
in an upright position and hold his/her head steady on his/her own, you can use
your ChildPod® in Jogger Mode without an approved infant carrier.
Stroller Mode
When used in conjunction with a Zigo® approved infant carrier, you can begin
strolling immediately! However, please refrain from more rigorous activity while
your child is a newborn.
2.3 General Safety

• Review the Care and Maintenance Section to gain a complete understanding of
the LeaderLink® system. This includes connection points and braking systems.
• Practice use without child to understand handling capabilities, including
turning, stopping, and starting.
• Do not overload the vehicle. There should be no more that 80 lbs/36 kgs of
combined weight in the ChildPod® in Carrier Bicycle Mode or Trailer Mode.
• Always obey all local traffi c regulations and laws regarding bicycle light
requirements. Use lights during low light situations.
• Always obey all local regulations and laws regarding bicycle refl ector
requirements. Always ride with refl ectors.
• Do not allow the vehicle to be used as a toy.
• Discontinue use if any part becomes damaged or broken and contact the

; always use the provided storage pockets or authorized accessories.
• Do not attach unapproved bags or cargo carriers to the Leader™, as this may
cause instability.
• To avoid risk of burns, do not place hot beverages in any cup holders used with
the Leader™.
• Do not use a car seat or any other device that has not been approved by Zigo®
• Make no modifi cations to the Zigo® Leader™.
• Do not touch brake drums after use. They may be hot.
2.4 Safety Guidelines Regarding Children
• Balance load. When transporting a single child, place him or her in the center;
try to keep the load balanced.
• Always secure Restraint Harness according to instructions and adjust to obtain
a snug fi t; do not operate the vehicle without securing the Restraint Harness
• Never leave child unattended in or with the vehicle; always keep child in view
while in vehicle.
• Do not allow children to climb into or out of the vehicle without assistance;
always lower Caster Wheels before loading or unloading children into
ChildPod®, or any time that an adult rider’s weight is not on the Cycle seat −
failure to do so can result in the Leader™ Carrier Bicycle tipping forward. Injury
to you or your children can result.
• Avoid risk of strangulation. Do not place items with a string around your child’s
neck, suspend things with string, or attach strings to this product.
• Always wear an approved safety helmet when using the vehicle in Carrier
Bicycle or Cycle mode. Always place approved safety helmets on your children
in Carrier Bicycle, Trailer, and Jogging modes.
• Do not use the vehicle as a mountain bike.
• Do not allow any part of child’s body, clothing, shoe laces, toys, etc., to come
into contact with any moving parts.
Restraint Harness Safety
• Always adjust Restraint Harness and Crotch Belt so that they meet at child’s
lower chest.
• Positioning harnesses and buckles near child’s neck could result in serious
injury or death.

8
ENGLISH
• Failure to seat single child in the center position could cause the ChildPod® to
tip over, resulting in serious injury or death.
• Passengers in the ChildPod® must always use Restraint Harness and Lap Belt.
2.5 Safety Guidelines for Use in Carrier Bicycle and
Trailer Mode
Test Ride the Zigo
®
Leader™
• Familiarize yourself with the vehicle. Test ride the vehicle without your child, to
familiarize yourself with its handling.
• Be sure to read the Zigo® Leader™ Bicycle Owner’s Manual for full instruction on
the Cycle component of your Leader™.
• Before each ride, ensure that neither the ChildPod® nor any of its parts interfere
with the braking, pedaling, or steering of the vehicle.
• Use a well-maintained bicycle with the ChildPod® in Trailer Mode.
• Pick a controlled environment, away from cars, other cyclists, obstacles or other
hazards. Ride to become familiar with the controls, features and performance of
your new Leader™.
• Familiarize yourself with the braking action. Test the brakes at slow speeds,
putting your weight toward the rear and gently applying the brakes, rear brake
fi rst. Sudden or excessive application of the front brake could pitch you over the
handlebars. Applying brakes too hard can lock up a wheel, which could cause
you to lose control and fall. Skidding is an example of what can happen when a
wheel locks up.
• Practice shifting the gears (see Bicycle Owner’s Manual). Remember to never
move the shifter while pedaling backward, nor pedal backward immediately
after having moved the shifter. This could jam the chain and cause serious
damage to the bicycle.
• Use the Parking Brake. To prevent the Leader™ from accidentally rolling away,
engage the Parking Brake when the Carrier Bicycle is not being ridden. Failure
to engage the parking brake can result in serious injury or death to you or your
passengers.
• If you have any questions, or if you feel anything about the Leader

Steering Lock is engaged in Carrer Bicycle Mode, the Leader™ will not be
able to maneuver properly and serious injury or death can result to you or
your passengers. Conversely, in Trailer Mode, verify that the Steering Lock is
engaged.
• The Leader™ has a 12 ft/3.7m turning radius, allowing you to manuever
through your typical suburban neighborhood easily.
• Plan your turns. The Leader

• Do not make sharp turns or turns at high speed. Sharp turns or turns at faster
than 5 mph/8 kmh may result in vehicle overturning and injury or death to you
or your passengers.
Starting , Stopping and Riding
• Take care when crossing streets and paths. The Leader™ is longer than a
standard bicycle and in Carrier Bicycle Mode, the nose of the Leader™ may
inadvertently stick out into oncoming traffi c. In Trailer Mode, the ChildPod®
may inadvertently be left in traffi c even though the bicycle has cleared the
intersection.
• Additional weight of children in the ChildPod®, and the weight of the
ChildPod® itself, requires more time and distance to start and stop the vehicle.
• Do not brake sharply. The vehicle may overturn and serious injury or death
can occur.
• Test brakes. Always test your brakes prior to using the vehicle.
• Avoid instability and potential hazard. Use caution if operating the vehicle
in Carrier Bicycle mode without children in the ChildPod
®
. The vehicle is less
stable without weight in front.
• Exercise caution on curbs and uneven surfaces.
• Never operate the vehicle in Carrier Bicycle mode if you are uncertain if the
Cycle and ChildPod® are properly secured with the LeaderLink®. Never operate
the vehicle in Trailer Mode if you are unsure if the Trailer Arm has securely
coupled the ChildPod® to the bicycle.
• In Carrier Bicycle Mode and Trailer Mode, do not operate on hills; it may be
diffi cult to control your speed on the descent.
• Always use the orange safety fl ag for increased visibility
