1 Introduction
1.1 About the MagPurix 24 EVO System
Thank you for purchasing the MagPurix 24 EVO System for your laboratory. This guide contains
important information regarding the safe use of the MagPurix 24 EVO System. Please read this
manual carefully, before starting to operate the instrument for the first time, especially the Safety
Information.
If there is any question about how to install or operate the system, please contact our certified
distributors/agents or email our technical support center ([email protected]).
1.2 Technology Introduction
1.2.1 Principle
The MagPurix 24 EVO System is a fully automated clinical sample preparation system that enables
performing purification of nucleic acids from a wide range of sample types for molecular diagnostic
in the area of infectious diseases, human health, personalized medicine, and life sciences research.
The MagPurix 24 EVO System is designed for the automated extraction and isolation of nucleic acids,
utilizing advanced magnetic bead separation technology.
1.2.2 Applications
The MagPurix 24 EVO System is intended for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use, for performing DNA
and/or RNA extraction, from a variety of samples which are essential for clinical diagnostics,
personalized medicine, forensics, etc.
1.3 Safety Information
This chapter presents safety information that you need to be familiar with and strictly follow before
you operate, maintain or service this instrument. If you fail to follow the safety information, or
neglect the warning in this user manual, it might cause damage to the instrument. Please note that
operating the instrument outside its intended use might lead to personnel injury and material loss.
For your safety and those of others, follow carefully the guidelines provided in the following pages
concerning the use of the MagPurix 24 EVO System.
Zinexts Life Science Corp. will not be held liable for any errors, damage, or other unexpected events
resulting from misconduct on the following safety guidelines.

1.3.1 Safety Symbols & Labels
Safety The meanings of safety precaution marks are as follows:
Note “NOTE” indicates the procedures that should be obeyed and
supplementary information for use.
Important “IMPORTANT” shows the important notes for usage, as well as
prohibited actions.
Caution This symbol indicates that non-compliance with instructions or
procedures may lead to physical injury or even death or could
cause damage to the instrument.
Warning “WARNING” indicates a dangerous condition that may lead to
death or serious injury.
Biohazard This symbol indicates that certain precautions must be taken when
working with potentially infectious material.
Hot Surface This symbol labels potentially hot surfaces on the instrument.
Electricity This symbol is indicating electrical hazard. Using the instrument outside
of the specified power conditions, and non-compliance with instructions
may lead to electrical shock, or could cause damage to the instrument.
UV Light This symbol is used to label potential UV light exposure.
1.3.2 About the Instrument
WARNING : Ignoring the following notations may lead to fire or electric shock, and to device
failure.
Make sure the MagPurix 24 EVO System is installed in a well-ventilated environment
and away from any water source.
Use a power cable that meets your country’s standard, or contact your local
distributor/agent.

Make sure the power source used is matching the rating as labeled on the MagPurix 24
EVO System.
Do not use the MagPurix 24 EVO System with a damaged power plug or a loose socket.
When you disconnect the plug from the outlet, be sure to hold the power plug itself,
and don’t pull the power cable.
The power cable is one of the emergency power supply controls, please do not place
the power cable in a location hard to reach.
For maintenance, disconnect the power plug from the outlet.
If you smell anything or hear something unusual, please immediately disconnect power
and contact your local distributor/agent.
Caution:
Never attempt to remodel the MagPurix 24 EVO System without the manufacturer’s
permission. Doing so may cause fire or electric shock.
Do not place or drop objects on the MagPurix 24 EVO System. Also refrain from
bumping or knocking it, as doing so may cause a failure or malfunction of the instrument.
If any liquid materials are left or have leaked inside the MagPurix 24 EVO System, wipe
it up with a soft paper tissue or soft cloth. Otherwise, the instrument may be damaged.
Repairs to the MagPurix 24 EVO System should only be performed by
distributors/agents that are specifically authorized, and with original spare parts that are
certified by Zinexts Life Science Corp.
If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection
provided by the equipment may be impaired.
1.3.3 About Reagent Kits
Caution:
When handling any of the extraction kits, refer to the respective handbooks.
Reagents in each kit should be handled by reading the safety information and
precautions regarding the kit.
Extraction should be performed in an appropriate laboratory or workspace.
Note: Reagent Kits are generally not supplied with the MagPurix 24 EVO System. Please

select your desired reagent kits and order them separately.
1.3.4 About Samples
Biohazard: Always wear appropriate gloves, a mask, and safety goggles etc., when handling
any infectious samples.
1.3.5 About Infectious Waste
Caution:
When handling or disposing of infectious materials, follow the laboratory guidelines or
the law regarding infectious waste to perform proper incineration, fusion, sterilization,
and/or disinfection.
When you use a third-party company to dispose of wastes, outsource this work to an
operator licensed to handle medical waste subject to special control, and give them the
medical waste manifest at the same time.

2Intended Use & General Description
2.1 Intended Use
The MagPurix 24 EVO System and any of its accessories is intended to be used to extract DNA
and/or RNA from various sample types.
The MagPurix 24 EVO System is intended to be used only in combination with extraction kits
indicated for use with MagPurix System, for the applications described in the respective kit
handbooks.
The MagPurix 24 EVO System is intended for use by professional users, such as technicians and
physicians trained in molecular biological techniques and the operation of the MagPurix 24 EVO
System.

3Installation
3.1 Components of the MagPurix 24 EVO System
Please check that all of the following parts are included in the package. Contact your local
distributor/agent if you notice any missing parts.

WARNING : Use of other cables and accessories other than provided with the instrument
may negatively affect EMC performance and results in non-compliance.
3.2 Operating Environment / Conditions
Use the MagPurix 24 EVO System in a location that meets the following conditions:
The MagPurix 24 EVO System must be placed at a minimum distance of 5 – 10 cm from all
sidewalls and other instruments, to allow appropriate air circulation.
A location where power supply is provided with safety.
A location where the temperature ranges between 15 – 30°C, and humidity ranges from 30%
to 80% RH (non-condensing).
A location that is flat and stable, with no vibration.
A location away from direct sunlight. Block sunlight by closing curtains or blinds, if necessary.
A location which is well-ventilated and not dusty.
A location where the temperature does not go up and down suddenly. Warming a cold room
suddenly or moving the MagPurix 24 EVO System from a room with low temperature to a warm
room may cause condensation inside the device, resulting in abnormal operation.
A location where the temperature and humidity are kept within the specified range (far away
from water taps, water heaters, humidifiers, air-conditioners, and heaters).
A location far away from objects that generate strong magnetic fields (motors, transformers,
TV, audio speakers, magnets, etc.). Bringing the MagPurix 24 EVO System close to any type of
magnetic field may cause malfunction.
WARNING :
Do not use the MagPurix 24 EVO System in a location where it is wet or can be splashed
with water. It may cause device failure, fire, or electric shock.
When relocating the MagPurix 24 EVO System, disconnect the plug from the socket first.
If the power cable is damaged, it may cause device failure, fire, injury, or electric shock.
Caution:
Do not use the MagPurix 24 EVO System in an unstable place such as a slanted surface
or a place subject to vibrations. It may cause injury or device failure.

Do not use the MagPurix 24 EVO System under direct sunlight or close to a heating
device. It may shorten the life of the MagPurix 24 EVO System, or cause malfunction.
Do not open the maintenance doors and the front doors while operating the instrument.
3.3 Installation Procedures
3.3.1 Unpacking
The MagPurix 24 EVO System should be unpacked and installed by authorized Zinexts Life Science
Corp. service personnel only. In this case, you need to take no further action until the on-site arrival
of authorized Zinexts Life Science Corp. service personnel.
Should this not be possible, use the following procedure to install the instrument.
Caution:
The MagPurix 24 EVO System weights 100 kg. It should be lifted with a pallet jack or
fork lifter and moved by two persons at minimum.
Do not hold the front panel or the door when moving the instrument.
Improper movement might lead to instrument damages.
For correct and safe use of the MagPurix 24 EVO System, install the device in a location
close to a power socket, and with enough space for installation procedures and main
switch operation.
◼Open the wooden transport box by removing the top cover and front/side walls.
◼Carefully remove the outer wrapping. Move the MagPurix 24 EVO System with a pallet jack or
fork lifter to a level ground.
◼Move the instrument by holding the handles on both sides of the instrument.
◼Move the MagPurix 24 EVO System to its desired location, and move down the leveling feet to
fixate and level the instrument in its location.
◼After system initialization, remove the fixing material (white foam).
3.3.2 Control Unit
Follow the steps below to release the fixing material inside the instrument:
◼Plug the power cord to the instrument and connect to the electric outlet.
◼Connect the barcode reader to the instrument.
◼Turn on the power of the MagPurix 24 EVO System with the switch on the right side of the
instrument.
◼The system will start the initialization and it will release the fixing material (white foam)

automatically.
◼Take the fixing material (white foam) out of the extraction module.
Important: Please keep and store the shipping box and the fixing material (white foam, transport
locks), as it will be needed for any transport of the MagPurix 24 EVO System again.
3.3.3 Consumables for Extraction
Note: Extraction reagent kits and consumables are not provided with the instrument and need to
be ordered separately. Please contact your local distributor/agent for detailed information and
ordering.
The specific consumables (reagents and plastic consumables) required for extraction are provided
with the respective extraction reagent kits. Contents of the kits will vary, please refer to the resp.
extraction kit handbook for details.
3.3.4 User Training
User training will be provided when the system is installed. Upon completion, the user(s) will be
able to perform the following tasks:
Navigate within the user interface
Load reagents and consumables
Perform extraction
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance
4Functional Overview of the Control Interface
The MagPurix 24 EVO System is provided with the MagPurix 24 EVO Software and an easy-to-use
control interface that allows simple login to the system, guides through every process step of the
desired operation, and keeps the user updated on the status of the operation throughout all process
steps.

4.1 Welcome & Login Screen
◼After powering up the MagPurix 24 EVO System, the MagPurix 24 EVO System will start the
initialization process. Click “LOGIN” and User ID and Password will appear for input.
◼Set up the local time.
◼System will start the initialization, then fixing material (white foam) will be released
automatically.

◼Camera time is suggested to be set for the first-time use. Follow the steps below to set the
time:
Step 1- Remove the Camera as below
Step 2- Turn on the instrument and click on “Settings” → “System”
Step 3- Click “CAMERA” to turn off sensor

Step 4- Find the buttons from the left side of the camera
Step 5- Camera will start recording automatically after sensor is turned off. Press “OK”
button to pause.
Step 6- Long press “M” button to access to Menu
Step 7- Press “M” button again to next page

Step 8- Select “Date/Time” and press “OK”
Step 9- Use the ▲▼ button to set the time and press “OK”
Step 10- Press “M” button to return to the main menu
Step 11- On the panel, click “CAMERA” to turn on sensor. Then place Camera back on

◼For Distributor, Login with User ID “Service” without a password. You can set your Distributor
“Service” password to limit access to certain options
◼For End User, Login with User ID “Admin” without a password. You can set your “Admin”
password to limit access to users to certain options.
◼Once logged in, you will be able to set up at least 10 other users with their own passwords.
4.2 Main Screen
The Main Screen of the MagPurix 24 EVO system on the right provides access to all functions of the
MagPurix 24 EVO System.
4.3 Function Test
Enter the Settings menu and click on “Motor”. Check the position of each axis (Y/Z/P/M motor).
◼Press button, and axis will go back to home position.
◼Press button, and system will check the position automatically.

5Instrument Startup and Operation
5.1 Preparation
Biohazard: Always wear appropriate gloves, a mask, and safety goggles before, during and
after the operation of the instrument, as some reagents used with the MagPurix 24 EVO
System may be hazardous or may become hazardous after completion of the processed
protocols and/or some samples used with this instrument may contain infectious agents.
Caution: Before start operating the instrument, put on appropriate gloves, a mask, and
safety goggles, if required by the operation. Be careful not to contaminate the sample
material with sweat, saliva, etc., during preparation of samples for the use with the
instrument.
The following items are required for operating the MagPurix 24 EVO System:
