1. INTRODUCTION
With the Zip Loader Plus Manager software you can:
1. Control the sales made by one or more Zip Loader Plus units;
2. Control the revaluations deducted from the payroll;
3. Control meal reservations.
Read this manual through carefully before starting to use the software ZLP Manager.
1.1 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLING THE ZLP MANAGER SOFTWARE
•Pentium 3 800MHz or higher;
•Ram 256 Mb;
•50 Mb space on the Hard Disk;
•Cd-Rom 32x player;
•Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional operating
system;
•Serial port or certified serial port/USB converter;
•We recommend using a CD recorder to make and keep a backup of the data.
To use the export functions in Excel:
•Excel 2000 or higher.
To connect up to Zip Loader Plus utilising the optional Ethernet board:
•A correctly configured Ethernet board.
It will not work on Windows NT, Win 98 or Win 95 operating systems.
1.2 INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ZLP MANAGER
1. Access the PC with the administrator privileges;
2. Execute the installation file;
3. Make sure the software user has the privileges to access and read the folder and
subfolders the software is installed in; the default folder used for the software is the
Programmes\Ade\ZIPLoaderPlusManager folder.
1.3 SUGGESTIONS FOR USING THE SOFTWARE ZLP MANAGER CORRECTLY
To ensure greater security of your data we recommend following these minimal safety norms as
regards the PC on which the ZLP Manager software is installed:
1. Keep the operating system updated;
2. Use an adequate antivirus for the software to protect the PC;
3. Do not let unauthorised persons have access to the PC;
4. Make sure only qualified personnel do the hardware updating;
5. Make at least one backup of the data a week.

1.3.1 BACKUP FUNCTION
To have an automatic backup of the Zip Loader Plus Manager database sw:
1. Select the Connection ÆBackup menu;
2. Specify the database saving path;
3. Transfer the file to a secure support, such as a CD or network server.
1.4 REQUESTS FOR ASSISTANCE
If there are problems with using the system always specify:
1. The firmware version installed on the Zip Loader Plus used;
2. The Zip Loader Plus Manager software version used; you can find this information in the
Info menu.
3. Operating system used;
4. PC ÅÆ Zip Loader plus communication means used (Ethernet, 232.485). Also specify
whether or not you are using a USB/232 converter;
5. If there are any files in the Programmes\Ade\ZipLoaderPlusManager\Log folder.

2. ZIP LOADER PLUS MANAGER SOFTWARE SETTINGS
To access the parameter settings for software operation, select the "Settings" key or press
F5.
From here it is possible:
1. To set the parameters for communication between ZLP and the PC;
2. Set the Language;
3. Customise the heading of the reports and the revaluation instructions.
2.1 CONNECTION VIA 232/485
To connect a ZLP unit to the PC utilising a 232 or 485 connection, choose the appropriate option:
Set the serial port used as well as the Baud Rate.
Caution! the Baud Rate programmed here must be the same as that programmed on the ZLP unit
(see the ZLP Owner’s Manual ‘Programming/Other parameters’).
Programme the Pass and Security codes with the same values set on the ZLP unit (see the ZLP
Owner’s Manual ‘Programming/Codes’).

Press the OK key to save and render the settings effective.
Press the “connect” key in the main window to see if the configuration works. If everything's
configured correctly the following message appears on the main window's status bar:
2.2 CONNECTION VIA ETHERNET
When installing the optional Ethernet board on the Zip Loader Plus unit, it's possible to exploit the
company's existing network to control one or more Zip Loader Plus units.
Operating procedure via Ethernet:
1. Ethernet board configuration;
2. Verifying Ethernet board configuration;
3. Setting the ZLP Manager software.
2.2.1 ETHERNET BOARD CONFIGURATION
What's needed to use the Ethernet board:
1. PC on which the ZLP Manager has been installed, connected to the company network;
2. The ZLP unit's Ethernet board connected to the network;
3. IP address and Subnet mask to assign to the ZLP unit's Ethernet board. Contact the
network administrator for the IP address and Subnet mask.
Once the Ethernet board has been plugged into the unit 1, follow the following procedure to
configure the board correctly.
Open your browser and tap in the Ethernet board's default address: http://192.168.0.200.
A window appears requesting the password:
Leave the "User Name" field empty, tap in “anaheim” as the password and press OK.
You will now have access to the interface for programming the board:

Select “Serial Configuration”.

Set the parameters as shown in the following figure:
In detail these parameters are:
1. Baud rate: 57600
2. Data bits-Parity-Stop bits: 8-N-0
3. Hardware handshake: disabled
4. TCP bridge port: 5555
5. Tcp bridge inactivity timeout: 2’
6. End-of-frame optimization: disabled

The page shown in the following figure appears:
Select “IP Configuration”.
Set the IP Address, Netmask and Gateway if necessary with the values given to you by your
network administrator (see figure below).
Do not activate the BOOT/DHCP option.

Press OK.
Press “Reboot device”.

Press the “Reboot” key. After 30 seconds close the browser.
The Ethernet board is now programmed.

2.2.2 VERIFYING ETHERNET BOARD CONFIGURATION
Once the Ethernet board is configured, check that the network settings are correct.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Select Start ÆRun:
2. Tap in “cmd” and press OK:
The commands prompt appears:

3. Tap in “ping XXXXX” and press enter (XXXXX is the IP address assigned to the Ethernet
board).
4. If everything has been configured correctly a screen page like the one shown in the
following figure appears, where the percentage of lost packages should be 0:

If, instead, there is an output like the one shown in the following figure, where the percentage
of lost packages is 100%, you must recheck the Ethernet baord configuration parameters.
2.2.3 ZLP MANAGER SOFTWARE SETTINGS
The following procedure must be followed to enable communication via Ethernet:
1. Registration of the units' addresses;
2. Setting the security codes (Pass Code/Security Code);
3. Choosing the functioning mode (Single/Multiple).

2.2.3.1 REGISTRING THE UNITS' ADDRESSES
1. Choose "Ethernet" as the functioning mode:
2. Press the "Insert" key:
3. Set the machine code and IP address assigned to the ZLP unit's Ethernet board.
Press OK to confirm.
It's useful to choose a Machine Code that reminds you of the IP address assigned to the unit itself.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the other units.
5. To alter or cancel a unit, press the keys "Edit" or "Delete".
2.2.3.2 SETTING THE SECURITY CODES (Pass Code/Security Code)
Programme the Pass and Security codes with the same values set on the ZLP unit (see the ZLP
Owner’s Manual ‘Programming/Codes’).

If there is more than one unit, they must all have the same Pass Code and Security Code.
2.2.3.3 CHOOSING THE FUNCTIONING MODE (SINGLE/MULTIPLE)
Utilising the Ethernet card, the ZLP software foresees a dual functioning mode:
1. Single Connection: the ZLP Manager sw communicates with just one machine.
2. Multiple Connection: the ZLP Manager sw communicates with more than one machine.
SINGLE CONNECTION
With this functioning mode the system receives the data from just one Zip Loader Plus unit.
To set this functioning mode:
1. Choose "Single" in the "Connection" field.
2. Select the machine you wish to connect to from the list of registered units:
Press the OK key to save and render the settings effective.
Press the “connect” key in the main window to see if the configuration works. If everything's
configured correctly the following message appears on the main window's status bar:

MULTIPLE CONNECTION
If you choose the "Multiple Connection" functioning mode the ZLP Manager software receives data
from all the ZLP units on the list of registered units.
To activate this functioning mode, choose "Multiple" in the "Connection" field.
Press the OK key to save and render the settings effective.
Press the “connect” key in the main window: if everything's configured correctly the following
message appears on the main window's status bar:
The software starts connecting cyclically to all the registered units, downloading all data from them.
The following message on the status bar indicates when it goes from one unit to another:
The following functions are not available when working in the Ethernet mode with the "Multiple
Connection" option:
1. Send setup file to the Zip Loader Plus unit.
2. Transferring the Users Database to the Zip Loader Plus unit (see ‘Transferring the User
database to the ZLP units’).
If you choose the "Multiple Connection" functioning mode, the Machine Codes of the Zip Loader
Plus units must be different.

2.3 CUSTOMISING REPORT HEADINGS AND REVALUATION INSTRUCTIONS
By selecting the "Heading" card you can customise:
1. The name of the company in the heading of each printout
2. The revaluation instructions which appear when the sheet is printed giving the personal
data of each user.
To customise these fields tap in the text wanted in the relative spaces, as shown in the figure:
Press OK to save the data.
2.4 RECEIVING DATA
Once the software has been configured, press the “Connect” key and the software starts
communicating with the Zip Loader Plus unit
Each time there is a sale or revaluation using the payroll deduction function2, the ZLP Manager
software downloads the transaction from the Zip Loader Plus unit into its own database.
If the software is set to work in the "Ethernet multiple" mode it will communicate cyclically with all
the registered Zip Loader Plus units, downloading all data from them.
When the ZLP Manager software is working it is signalled by an icon near the clock.
If you reduce the programme to an icon pressing the key , the application can be restored to
the whole screen by clicking twice on the icon.

2.5 PASSWORD
The Zip Loader Plus Manager Software lets you set a protection password against unauthorised
access. To set the password enter the “Connection” menu and click on Password.
Tap in the password, confirm it and then press “OK”.
Each time the programme is started the window shown below appears, asking you to tap in the
password.
You can change the password any time by tapping in the current one and then entering and
confirming the new one.
If, once you’ve used the programme with the password, you decide to remove it, enter
Connection/Password, tap in the current password and confirm with “OK” leaving empty the fields
“Enter new password” and “Confirm new Password”.
