R226 MIFI Wireless dongle device
Step 1
Insert your SIM
Remove back cover Insert SIM
Open the menu of the device
Press the Menu button (1)
Highlight the Wi-Fi Band option (press Menu/Next) twice and press Power/ OK (button 2).
In the Wi-Fi Band option select the 2.4GHz and press Power/OK button
Connect to Wi-Fi
Turn on the Wi-Fi on your laptop
For Lenovo: Press the FN button of the laptop keyboard + F8 (icon of the signal tower)
For HP: Press the Wi-Fi button on the top right hand side corner (when it is on it glows white – when
the Wi-Fi is off it glows orange)
Right click on the network connection icon on the taskbar and select to connect to your Mi-Fi
The Mi-Fi SSID (network connection name) will be on the card in the box of the Mi-Fi device
You will be promted for a password. You will find the password on the same card in the box of the
device
Once you have connected to the Wi-Fi you need to connect to the HSE VPN network through
CheckPoint security software.
If the software icon (yellow padlock) is not right from the date and time (default location is right
hand side bottom corner of the screen), click on the show hidden icons arrow (1).
Right click (2) on the yellow padlock icon of the CheckPoint software and select “Connect to..” (3)
Enter your VPN login details and click “Connect”
