Quick Installation Guide for G2wifi II
G2wifi II Connection
G2wifi II, a WLAN Access Point with the built-in modem, has failover function using dial-up
modem. Not only can it be used as a regular router to connect to ADSL / Cable modem but also
as a PPP router using dial-up modem to connect to the ISP. Please use the procedures below
for step-by-step instructions to set up your G2wifi II.
Hardware Connection Settings
1) Connect XDSL/Cable to the WAN port of your G2wifi II using a RJ-45 cable.
2) Connect PC to LAN port of your G2wifi II using a RJ-45 cable.
3) Make sure the SIM card has inserted to the modem, and the modem is ready as well.
4) Connect the power cable to the power connector of your G2wifi II.

LED Description of the Front Panel
LED Color Status
POWER Green Lit when +12V DC power is on and working.
Dialup status Green
Lit when dialup is connected.
Flash when dialup is connecting at 1Hz rate.
Off when dialup is disconnected.
Flash when any traffic is present.
WLAN(Wireless LAN) Green Lit when device is normal.
Flash when any traffic is present.
WAN 100/10 or Link
WAN 100/10 Green Lit when connection with remote device is 100MHz.
Off when connection with remote device is 10MHz.
WAN Link Green Lit when connection with remote device is good.
Flash when any traffic is present.
Off when cable connection is not good.
LAN Port 1 to 4 100/10 or Link
LAN 100/10 Green Lit when connection with remote device is 100MHz.
Off when connection with remote device is 10MHz.
LAN Link Green Lit when connection with remote device is good.
Flash when any traffic is present.
Off when cable connection is not good.

Software Connection Settings
Before the setup, please confirm that the LAN port of the router has been connected with the
PC via RJ-45. Refer to the following sections to set up the G2wifi II based on the modem you
have selected:
ySet up the G2wifi II for ADSL / Cable Modem
1. Connect the WAN port on the G2wifi II to your DSL modem, cable modem or to your
Ethernet Hub if you have the fixed IP.
2. Determine your provider’s IP scheme: fixed IP, DHCP or PPPoE. (Please ask your
Internet Service Provider for the connection details and information.)
3. Type http://192.168.8.1 into IE browser to enter the setup for G2wifi II.
4. Please choose “Admin” as the user name and leave the password blank for the
router.
5. PPPoE ÆSet up the PPPoE account (User Name and Password) on the G2wifi II.
6. If your WAN port is using a fixed IP ÆSet up the fixed IP on the G2wifi II.
7. For cable modem users (DHCP), please leave the Internet setup as default.
ySetup the G2wifi II for Dial-up Modem Setting
1. Please connect your computer to G2wifi II’s LAN port.
2. Initiate your Internet Explorer, and type in the address “192.168.8.1”
3. Please choose “Admin” as the user name and leave the password blank. Click Log
In button to enter router’s setup page.

4. Once you are in the setup, please select “Basic” and enter “DIALUP” section of the
setup.
5. Check the box “Enable Dialup WAN” and select the modem type.
After finishing the above procedures, select the following steps for further settings according to
your type of the Dial-up modems as we have mentioned above:
─ Set up the G2wifi II for GPRS, 3G/3.5G HSDPA or EDGE modem
1. In this case, please select GPRS.

2. Setup your GPRS connection details according to your needs. Two modes are offered
for Reconnect Mode setting, including Always On or On Demand. Idle time below is
the time for “On Demand” mode to disconnect when the modem is idle.
3. In GPRS ISP SETTINGS, please contact your ISP for the GPRS online settings. User
must enter GPRS Dial Command, Username, Password and Access Point Name
(APN). Besides, you must enter PIN code if you had set up before for the SIM card.
4. Click on Save Settings after completing the setup.

5. When the device has rebooted properly. You can check if the switch is online by
clicking on the STATUS. The information should be displayed under the WAN section.
─ Set up the G2wifi II for CDMA/EVDO modem
1. In this case, please select CDMA.

2. Set up your CDMA connection details according to your needs. Two modes are offered
for Reconnect Mode setting, including Always On or On Demand. Idle time below is
the time for “On Demand” mode to disconnect when the modem is idle.
3. In CDMA ISP SETTINGS, please contact your ISP for the CDMA online settings. User
must enter the CDMA Dial Command, Username and Password. Besides, you must
enter PIN code if you had set up before for the SIM card.
4. Click on Save Settings after completing the setup.

Restore Factory Default Settings
G2wifi II provides a “Reset” button that will be easy for users to reset the router to default. The
button is located at the rear panel of the router (See the figure below). Reset steps are as
follows:
(1) Unplug the power cable.
(2) Press the RESET button and keep it pressed.
(3) Plug in the power cable and release the RESET button after
10 seconds around.
(4) Procedures of the reset will be completed while all LEDs on
the front panel return into the normal status.
