Software Connection Settings
Before the setup, please confirm that the LAN port of the router has been connected with the
PC via RJ-45. Refer to the following sections to set up the G2wifi II based on the modem you
have selected:
ySet up the G2wifi II for ADSL / Cable Modem
1. Connect the WAN port on the G2wifi II to your DSL modem, cable modem or to your
Ethernet Hub if you have the fixed IP.
2. Determine your provider’s IP scheme: fixed IP, DHCP or PPPoE. (Please ask your
Internet Service Provider for the connection details and information.)
3. Type http://192.168.8.1 into IE browser to enter the setup for G2wifi II.
4. Please choose “Admin” as the user name and leave the password blank for the
router.
5. PPPoE ÆSet up the PPPoE account (User Name and Password) on the G2wifi II.
6. If your WAN port is using a fixed IP ÆSet up the fixed IP on the G2wifi II.
7. For cable modem users (DHCP), please leave the Internet setup as default.
ySetup the G2wifi II for Dial-up Modem Setting
1. Please connect your computer to G2wifi II’s LAN port.
2. Initiate your Internet Explorer, and type in the address “192.168.8.1”
3. Please choose “Admin” as the user name and leave the password blank. Click Log
In button to enter router’s setup page.
