APPLICATION GUIDE
The AA-Racks AX302 Series & AX312 Seriesis a roof-rack systemwhich requires no drillingfor installation. ( AX302 Series
available with 3”x1.5” cross bars; AX312 Series available with 2”x1.2” cross bar ). The rack is made of aluminumwhich
features aRust-Free material. Hardware package comes withStainless Steel madebolts, nuts & washers; a pair of ladder
stopper comes standard with each bar set.

INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
Assembling The Mounting Bases & Cross-Bar:
T-Bolt M8*25
T-Bolt M8*25
Nut &Washer M8
Slide 4 T-Bolts M8*25 into the Cross-Bar’s slot, connect each Mounting Base with Washers M8 and Nuts ( DO NOT
tighten them at this moment ). ( See FIG 1 )

STEP 2
Slide the Tie Down ( two for each bar ) into the Cross-Bar’s slot with 2 T-Bolts M8*25 follow-by, then tighten
with a Plastic Adjust-Knob, Washer M8 & Spring Washer M8. ( Installation of the ladder stoppers is optional for
customers’ personal preference. See FIG 2-1 & 2-2 ). Seal the Cross-Bar with two Tubular-Caps. ( See FIG 2-3 )

STEP 3
Use a ladder or any assistance tools, put the assembled rack set onto the vehicle’s roof. Be careful!
As your van type, adjust the Mounting Base on both side of rack to the appropriate position. Make sure that the
distance from the Tubular-Caps to the Mounting Bases is the same. ( See FIG 3-1 )
TIP: FOR THREE-BAR SET OF AX302 & AX312 ASSEMBLY, please begin with the middle mounting base set ( the
one with the lower Mounting Base ) for the better stability of the system. ( See FIG 3-2 )

The use of Mounting Base-Lower is to compensate the curved roof of the vehicle.

Installation Onto Van ( Find type of vehicle install instructions below) :

STEP 1
Use the proper tool, take off the cover on the roof top to locate the M8 threaded hole. Place a Rubber Seal for each hole.
Installing the Base Bracket: Put two Carriage Bolts M8*30 on the Base Bracket upside down. Align the middle hole to the
vehicle’s M8 threaded hole. ( See FIG 4 )

STEP 2
Set position for the Adapter Base. Two of the upside down bolts should also goes through the Adapter Base.( See FIG 5-1 )
Installing the rack set onto the roof: Connecting the Mounting Bases with the Adapter Bases. Set the Bolt M8*45 on the Mounting
Base’s middle hole; Align all three holes then connect the Mounting Bases and Adapter Kit together; Tighten the Bolt M8*45 to
secure the rack with the vehicle. Tighten the other two Carriage Bolts M8*30 on the Adapter with Nuts & Washers( See FIG 5-2 ).
After installing the rack set, adjust all the Cross-Bars to align with each other and tighten all fasteners. Insert the Rubber Sealing
Strip into the Cross-Bar’s upper & lower channel to reduce wind-noise. Cut the right length as needed.( See FIG 5-3 ).

STEP 1
Use the proper tool, take off the cover on the roof top to locate a hole (thread / non-thread). Place a Rubber
Seal for each hole. Set position for the Adapter Base: Connect the Base Bracket, Adapter Base and the
Mounting Base with two Carriage Bolts M8*30 upside down, tighten with Nuts & Washers M8. ( See FIG 6 )

STEP 2
Align the middle hole of the Mounting Base to the vehicle’s roof hole (thread / non-thread): With thread, put the Bolt M8*45
through and tighten the bolt( See FIG 7-1 ); Non-threaded, put the Bolt M8*45 through and tighten with Nut, Washer and the
Rubber Seal. ( See FIG 7-1,7-2 )
After installing the rack set, adjust all the Cross-Bars to align with each other and tighten all fasteners. Insert the Rubber
Sealing Strip into the Cross-Bar’s upper & lower channel to reduce wind-noise. Cut the right length as needed.( See FIG 7-3 ).

STEP 1
Find the threaded holes on the roof. They are a pair of M6 threaded holes on each corner. Take out the covers ( if any ).
Optional: Put a Rubber Seal on each hole to improve sealing. ( See FIG 8 ). Set position for the Adapter Base: Align both
side-holes of the Adapter Base to the roof’s pre-thread holes. ( See FIG 8-1 )

STEP 2
Align both side-holes then connect the Mounting Bases and Adapter Bases, put two M6*40 Bolts through and tighten
the bolts to secure the rack with the vehicle, tighten the bolts with Washers M6 & Spring Washers M6. ( See FIG 9-1 ).
After installing the rack set, adjust all the Cross-Bars to align with each other and tighten all fasteners. Insert the
Rubber Sealing Strip into the Cross-Bar’s upper & lower channel to reduce wind-noise. Cut the right length as needed.(
See FIG 9-2 ).
