This section outlines how to hoist from wheelchair
once sat within Able Move. In this instance we
show a hoist transfer from wheelchair to aisle
chair.
a. Remove the outer leg straps from their pouches
located each side of the cushion.
b. Remove the inside leg straps from inner pouch
located in the middle front of the cushion.
Take each outer leg strap, thread it through the
respective inner leg strap loop, shown in 3a.
3b. Make sure you slide the slider to its tightest
point, so it doesn’t slide up and down the leg strap,
ensure its high and clear from the leg. For the outer
leg straps, start with the green loop. If your legs are
too high, go to black. If too low, use yellow or red.

HOIST TRANSFER FROM WHEELCHAIR
Take the end of the strap, reverse it over itself and
thread back through under the slider as shown in
2a. Then thread the strap through the slider
as shown in 2b. Adjust the slider to the longest
point leaving a small loop to pass through the outer
leg straps. Complete this for both inner leg straps.

Take out the back straps on each side which
are located in 4a. 4b - For the back straps, we
advise starting with the green loops on the hoist.
It is important you feel slightly reclined in your
back with your legs slightly higher (unless you like
an upright position). If you feel you are being
pushed forward, use the black. If you prefer an
upright position try the yellow loop and in rare
cases red.
By this point you should now have, removed the inside
leg straps, created the loops, removed the outer leg straps
and threaded them through the inside leg strap loops.
You should have also taken out the back straps too.
The outside leg straps and the back straps should now
be (or have been) connected to the hoist for hoisting.
6.
Using the hoist, move from current chair to aisle
chair. This will be done by Special Assistance.
Remove the straps from the hoist and tuck them
back into their respective pouches. Special Assis-
tance will strap you to the aisle chair, if it has a
seat belt, ask for it to be passed through the sides.

MOVING SEATS IN AIRCRAFT
If you have a middle or window seat, or cabin
crew will not allow you to sit in an aisle seat, the
Able Move Pro allows you to move across.
If the aircraft arm rests move up, then special
assistance can slide you across rather than lifting.
Direct special assistance to use either of the yellow
handles highlighted including the leg handles.
Special assistance should be placed either side to
make the slide as comfortable and easy as possible.
If special assistance cannot slide you, use the same
step for a normal manual lift.
Once placed in the window or middle seat, ensure
the aircraft seat belt is passed through the
sides of the Able Move and fastened securely.
